I said at the start of the season this situation would happen, there have should have been some kind of average retention policy brought in for retaining the new batch of 2.00 riders. It would only apply to new 2.00 riders retained at the same club for the following season. A 15% cut would reward clubs for developing said rider and reward the rider with another team spot for making progess in the sport, not penalising for doing well! Luke's 4.43 would become 3.77, which can become alot more inviting for team building purposes. Whether things like this are even discussed are another matter.

As for 2024 rider thoughts and riders returning in 2025; Cookie - Good season, lead from the front especially away from home, some incredible performances on the road. Unfortunate to miss a few meetings. 100% will be back from what I heard on Saturday. Tate - Obviously already signed but looks to be making quick progress in his recovery. Can’t wait to see him ride again in 2025, a real crowd puller. Antti - Great season overall, struggled seeing the away tracks for the first time, but is to be expected. Probably an 8 point plus rider next year. 110% would have back. Claus - Good meetings at times away from home. But few and far between, not worth the money flying him over every week. Won’t be back Batch - Good season, led from the front in Cookies absence more times than not. Always beats who he should beat, but struggles against the very top guys in the league. Doesn’t have their speed. I’d imagine he won’t be back next season, mainly because his points can be best used elsewhere ( Team building average is higher than Cook’s) Sam McGurk - not a lot to say really, can’t imagine he’ll be back in this league anytime soon. Starke - Great to have some firepower at reserve late on in the season. 10 points at Poole was a highlight. 100% would have back on his 3.40 average to start at reserve in 2025.

Amen to that. To be fair the bloke who posted that is probably just pessimistic😂 Never want to get your hopes up too much in life. There’s a long term project going on, it does need people to support, but in general I was impressed by some of the attendances this year.

Well done to Poole, was NID as they say. The meeting was a bit drab today by our standards. But we’ve had some really great meetings at Northside this year so can’t complain. Crowd level was a bit strange, as the crowds have been good majority of the year (bigger than what most clubs get) can kinda expect it against Plymouth but maybe the combination of the crap weather, the 3rd home meeting against Poole and being live on BSN were factors today. Roll on 2025

Comets top end power has been our big strength all season, I think you might be basing this off what you've seen over 3 meetings at Wimbourne road? I'd argue Scunny's top end is weak compared to the Comets. We've had four 9 point ave. riders at home this season and our strength has been winning heats away from home (but also coming last in the same race) Scunny are strong at home of course, but have a better strength in depth overall.

Good effort considering we hardly had a race win! Only 2, packed the 2nd places well with 12 of them. Well done to Starkey and Flint, great effort from all 6 riders to be fair. FYI, the 8 day rule doesn’t count for play off meetings not just the Number 1 position. A new rule for 2024 I believe. I’d expect Pickering and Thompson to cover for Cookie and Tate

I don't think the choice of guests can be criticised at all. It's what is available to us and all make sense over other choices. Erik Riss was over in Germany racing yesterday, it leaves not a lot of choice. Kerr has made slow progress since his injury comeback but is on the up again and rode there last sunday in Lawson's testimonial. Edwards did a job last time 6+2 which is probably around what Tate would score there or more. Flint will do okay, 4/5 points. Claus is so hit and miss anyways who knows what he would score

I wouldn’t think that’s too much of an issue at all, you still have to pay 7 riders. Especially when you factor in the amount Claus costs with all his travel from Denmark and Aberdeen included

Hopefully Riss and Anders Rowe are in at Poole on Wednesday. Then this line up which fits at Home, would at least give us a fighting chance 1. Pickering (G) 2. Rowe (G) 3. Vuolas 4. Dan Thompson (G) 5. Batchelor 6. McGurk 7. Starke

Cookie probably be missing the rest of the season now, already out of Leicester's play off meetings next week with a dislocated shoulder. If we are to race Poole on wednesday in the Semi Final guests at Number 1 from the Championship are very limited. Only Kerr and King really, neither of which I'd want. Guests might have to have to come from the Premiership, either Riss, Rew or Blodorn all fit.

If we make the playoffs, I'm guessing the 2nd leg would be the 14th Sept. Oxford/Scunny riding on 11th and 13th, seems to be an appetite to get the meetings done quickly.

Looking ahead to the play off meetings (if we get there) Need to be as strong as possible, to at least make a tie of it. I would mix it up and go with the following Home/Away line ups; Away 1. Cook 2. Vuolas 3. Castagna (G) 4. Rowe (G) 5. Batchelor 6. McGurk 7. Starke Home 1. Cook 2. Rowe (G) 3. Vuolas 4. Dan Thompson (G) 5. Batchelor 6. McGurk 7. Starke

If we get through to the Play offs this weekend, the first leg will be away at Poole a week today. Playoffs are Live on BSN

Will probably be very surprising if this goes ahead, the amount of rain we've had over the last 2 nights hours is ridiculous. One bonus is that there is a strong drying wind which will make a difference, but i'd imagine the area by the pits gate and onto the track will have been well under water this morning. This was the scene down by the Travelodge by Northside bridge this morning
