Realistically the only person I see left now who could be a number 1 is Bellego but I know there is potentially some issue with him not being allowed to ride Championship. Other than that they are going to have to have a strength in depth approach but also try and get those guys who can improve. The 2 guys who are in any Berwick team Doolan and Howe, can anyone honestly sit there and say they will improve their starting average? Not sure on average but I would take Ryan Douglas over those 2. Its going to be interesting, at least we got Mr Barrie to post a rosie picture for us no matter what happens ayy

In theory you are correct. I think now though given the professionalism of the sport in this country, which half decent foreigner would come here and be committed to it? Or would they just come and go through the motions on sub standard bikes? IE Berge? Sadly, I think Berwick will be picking from the whats left pile and be in for another season of struggle. Realistically who wants to watch teams full of guests and R/R every week anyways. Add to that having to see mongs like Sargeant go through the tapes everytime he comes to them just makes British speedway even more of a laughing stock. Be better if they streamed every Polish meeting weekly, at least its taken seriously over there.

So if the rumours are to be believed Berwick will have at least 4 of the team from this season just gone back next year. Quite baffling as to why to be honest when they finished rock bottom of the league. Doolan has been on the decline for the last 3 or 4 seasons but obviously a good bloke and up for a laugh in the bar so he's a shoe in. Howe scored ok but in a rubbish team so was he just the second best of a bad bunch behind Morris? Etheridge had a good year but will he really improve on his average if he's in the main body of the team. What can you say about Gappmaier, fancies it when he gates from reserve (at home) and then horrific away. Morris replaced with Summers? Like swapping Aguero for Kenny Miller. Still, as long as they have a good fence and a laugh and a joke who really cares about being competitive eh

I really hope Lublin are rained off on Sunday so Lambert cant ride and he also incurs a 28 day ban. Granted, you cant blame him for preferring to be in Poland for a match that means something and in front of a huge crowd but its a bit of a joke again fans paying to get into Brough to not see him and some no hoper or R/R in his place. Fair play to Chapman for screwing these two over, long overdue in my opinion. Both of them seem to think Speedway in this country owes them one. Yes, speedway in GB is a shambles I am not doubting that, but both have been very vocal in slagging it off plenty yet come out crying when they cant ride here for the rest of the season. Holder has been frankly garbage this season, his massive ego maybe just caught up with him. If Hancock hadn't got injured his younger brother could have potentially taken his place in the Torun side. I mean how ego denting must it have been to have been dropped for Tungate in Sweden two weeks ago . Hopefully we don't have to see these two back in Speedway in this country and if that affects their visas then more the better.

Who even cares if he's banned he's been rubbish all season. He obviously thinks he's far to good for Britain so why doesn't he just concentrate on Poland and Sweden. He's been mainly garbage for Torun and been at reserve on a few occasions for his Swedish club. Seems to think he's doing a people a favour by being here and taking the mick but really who would give a damn if he didn't ride here anyways, would rather see someone with not as much talent but who is committed.

Don't think you are correct there. This season thus far we have had the team manager referred to as Havelock, Courtney, Dennis and now Flint has been added to that list. I agree with you however, the team was rubbish before we started. I don't have any experience in speedway I am just a fan but I could have told you Bridger had no chance of maintaining that average. Vissing has caused problems where ever he has been, Berge you only needed to speak to Glasgow to find out a thing or two about him. Straight away theres 3 guys who had massive question marks over them. Would the Edinburgh or Newcastle promotion have signed any of those 3? Doolan has been on the decline for the past 3 seasons, people are only blinkered by the fact he's on the face of it done well as he's ridden in many useless Berwick teams. The other 3, Gappmeir seemed consistently inconsistent, Carr trained all winter apparently and spoke a good game at the P&P but it never seemed to happen for him. I cant comment on the racing as I don't go anymore as I wont line the pockets of people who aren't fussed about putting a serious team out, but fair play to them if they have improved the track, it certainly needed it. I'm like you in terms of I just want to see good speedway. I went to Bell Vue a few times last season and my god that gets your interest back in the sport, as did the world cup meetings from Vastervik and Leszno. Berwick are by no means alone in what is happening to speedway in this country. Events like last night at Kings Lynn just show the sport is on its backside and if it keeps going in this fashion it might just cease to exist in the very near future. I look forward to the happy clappers telling me I don't go so I'm not entitled to an opinion .
