  1. Maybe I wrong, but I don't think of Wolves as the sort of club who would fight this "injustice" just meekly agree to what they're told? Last season Belle Vue have shown what can happen when you challenge the lawmakers, ditto Scott Nicholls 5 or so years ago when he was banned from doubling up.
  2. Would it not be easier to simply state, "riders have to have a rolling average to be able to guest" Why to the rule makers make it so hard? Saying you need to have an MA, then list a bunch of reasons why riders don't have an MA
  3. Lambert has an * next to his average. The rules on the greensheets are as follows assessed MA due to one of following New Foreign Rider Converted MA New Rider Re-assessed MA Est MA older than prev 2 seasons So using thier rules Lambert has a. "assessed MA" as it's an established MA older than 2 seasons!
  4. Most Polish fans seem to think the exact opposite, play-offs would be ruined by allowing guests. In any other sport in the world (plus foreign Speedway leagues), teams with injuries are weakened, don't know why British Speedway feels this is not fair?
  5. He'd be deemed witholding his services & get a 28 day ban, with Sheffield allowed a facility to cover him
  6. The fact that people still argue / disagree about Lambert signing for Belle Vue one year later, shows just how poorly the rule was written.
  7. Think the loss of Doyle will be too much for Ipswich to overcome. Ipswich 43 - 47 Belle Vue
  8. Don't forget Ipswich could have chosen Rowe (or Kemp) as their RS. But for whatever reason, went with Joe T when Thomas got injured. It's their own fault if it comes back to haunt them.
  9. Indeed, even if Jack Smith scores 0, would anyone else do any better? Maybe Henry Atkins would be a better choice, but he's still weaker than opposition RS Connor Bailey
  10. My memory from the NL in the late 80s & 90s, was when a heat leader was out r/r used, when a second string was missing, a reserve stepped up into the team & a junior stepped up to reserve. Can't remember situations when 2 heat leaders were out though?
  11. Where has the talk of a 1 match ban being given to Jenkins & Atkins come from? I've never heard of that rule? I'm sure in previous seasons the NLRC is the only event that gets priority over the higher leagues, but I kinda expect to see Jenkins & Atkins racing for Oxford, with Kinsley & Killeen / Scott racing in the NLRC. Even if that's not a rule
  12. Don't forget Chris Louis or Jason Crump
  13. I dislike the play-offs as much as anybody, but the fact remains, finishing top doesn't mean Poole are the Champions. Winning the play-offs is what counts
  14. That was supposed to be posted in the Oxford vs Redcar page, don't know how it ended up here!
  15. Massive match for both teams. Especially Scunny as they're not used to getting to play-off finals!
  16. I see no problem with people being hopeful & picking a team for next year. Both Swindon & Edinburgh have carried on after racing a farewell meeting. Besides this post can do no harm to Peterborough's future, anyway if you don't like it, don't read it.
  17. It's happened in Sweden before, 9 team league - top 8 qualify for play-offs. One team dropped out, so everyone made the play-offs
  18. I suppose, some fans may not be bothered attending a play-off match if you've already been knocked out of the competition?
  19. Seems strange they'd want to run it on a Tuesday rather than the normal Wednesday?
  20. As an Arsenal fan, I could never support Tottenham if Arsenal closed down, but would probably switch my allegiance to another club I don't mind (West Ham). I supported Rye House exclusively, then in 1992 Arena-Essex became my second team as they were in a different league. When Rye closed Arena became my main team, dropping to my second favourite when Rye came back. What helped was my Dad was Speedway mad & would go to as many matches as possible. He was a Speedway fan first, but not many will be like that, but any extra fans from former clubs will help the current ones. I had a friend who was an Edinburgh fan, he'd go to Berwick & Glasgow to cheer on the opposition, but that still brings in funds even if you don't gain a fan. I guess a bigger issue now, is fans can get their Speedway fix online / on tv, especially if it's not your own club, 30 years ago that wasn't the case.
  21. Well this year they planned ahead & the play-offs were supposed to start early. But then they didn't plan for poor weather in July / August holding thing up, meaning the play-offs are delayed, despite clubs only having to race 8 home league meetings.
  22. I honestly can't understand anyone thinking finishing 6th out of 9 means you deserve to be in the play-offs. But "officially" (as it was voted in) they deserve their shot at the title.
  23. Half the team have actually upped their averages this year (Cook, Castagna & Fredriksen), statistically Pickering has been one who's dropped the most off his average. Of course that means, he now has the potential to up his average next year.
