World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023

Brennan can be proud of his efforts, but it's a word cup final, no easy heats. Brennan & Ellis could conceivably ride at their absolute best & still score 0 -

Terrible call by the ref for me. Lovely move by Doyle, but he miss timed it & knocked off Jensen! -

No rider has ever used their NL average to determine their Champ ave. -

If I was GB I'd leave Ellis & Brennan in their first ride to give GB a better chance of being "artificially" 6 points down & allow tac subs. I also would have put them at 1&2 so they'd be in heats 5&6 - if GB aren't 6 points down after only using their top riders in 2 of the first 5 heats then they're fighting for the title anyway! -
I was assuming the "fortress" comment was a joke? No-one is mathematically out of the running as 6th place team Edinburgh only have 7 league points. I'd also say no-one is realistically out of the running as the bottom 4 clubs have lost repeatedly at home. Anyone who wins their remaining home fixtures stands a chance.

Does that mean they are only looking to sign this rider if they make the play-offs? Surely if he's going to turn them into title favourites, they should sign him up now to ensure they make the top 6?

Last Champ average I can find for Boxall is 5.15 (2016). He may be due a reduction, who knows? Berwick can't just declare him in their team - but he could guest for TJ if injured? -

I do wonder why they didn't ask Pearson to guest in both matches (unless they did). After his score at Armadale Kye Thompson to guest? Mind you Jye scored well last week, so r/r looks decent Worrall / Flint / Etheridge / Knudsen. -

I think he's found his level, NL heat leader & 2.00 Champ rider. No reason for him to quit though, if he enjoys racing & can afford to do so & clubs are willing to sign him, why quit? -
Glasgow v Poole Championship. 30/7/23 6pm

Hook & Joe T are injured. Hook & Pearson's averages are too high (4.00). Only averages that matter are the ones on the team declarations. Coles is actually the highest averaged rider available to guest for Complin, only other rider above him who fits is Mulford (3.14) who is also injured. -
Find that hard to believe, but then again Birmingham promotion have often overestimated their teams ability. For the last two seasons Tolley has basically said they will be a play-off side, but they've yet to achieve that. He's not even suggested it's a possibility, more talked of it being a guarantee as I read it

Actually Scunthorpe 46 + 5 guest. Not sure what that really means anyway as Oxford scored 22 + guests 20 for example

World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023

At first I thought it would only be worth GB putting one of their top riders (i.e Lambert) at 5 if they were going to share rides between Ellis & Brennan. Otherwise all Lambert would be doing is replacing Brennan (or Ellis) 5 times. But I realised a second reason for doing it in the final. As things stand putting Brennan at 5, if GB fall 6 behind there's only a 1 in 4 chance they can use a tac sub in the next heat. By putting Lambert at reserve (even if replacing the same rider each time) there would be a 1 in 2 chance of having a weaker rider in the following heat (when 6 down). Whoever replaced Brennan / Ellis as a tac sub doesn't really matter - but what it would mean, is in the next block of 4 heats Lambert could replace both weaker riders! -

I think there are conspiracy theories as so many riders miss matches for all kinds of reasons. So when a rider is legitimately injured / unavailable, many assume there are shenanigans going on behind the scenes? -

Given Glasgow are vying for top spot alongside Oxford & Poole, what do Tigers fans think of Basso guesting for Oxford at Redcar? 1) gotta take the bookings when you can 2) shouldn't try to help one if your rivals 3) Glasgow aren't in the fight for top spot

I don't understand all these conspiracy theories regarding Andersen getting injured / missing his flight. If Peterborough wanted to drop him they can, if Andersen wants to leave he can. I see no advantage to either story not being true, so why don't (some) people believe the stories?

Survival of The Premiership?

Not sure you need a North / South divide. Even if most of the clubs return, they should be able to fit in all the fixtures (weather permitting) -

They did bother, they brought in the "rising star" system, it was part of the FIVE year plan which the Championship dropped after ONE year!
