The only reason to use Sedgmen as a t/s in heat 5 rather than r/r would be if Birmingham expected to get a heat advantage & not fall 6 behind again! Does seem an odd heat to do it in (against Masters) unless the plan wad just to beat Heeps? Also an odd choice of rider as Sedgmen had fallen in heat 4, so how could they decide so early on that he was the right rider to get the extra race? Although I will say, there's no reason why r/r should be at number 2 imo

I'm pretty sure the "most recent" average is for Prem & Champ. As Clegg rode in the NL last year, I was expecting him to sign on his 11+ average.

Leicester v Ipswich 8th June

Despite Witches powerful top 2, expect Leicester to win & get the bonus point (48-42). Joe T could get a few points racing at Leicester though! -
Personally I think Birmingham's changes strengthen them, will that be enough for them to win, who knows?

I doubt get the anti Paco comments as he is averaging more than last year? -

Rene Bach was pretty good at Armadale -
In this case it's the clubs choosing to go with riders who might be out of their depth, can't blame the ruling when there are stronger, more experienced riders not being used! There are also success stories like Brennan, Hume & Mountain having good seasons in 2022. But it shows how the promoter's need to be "forced" into including Brits, as one of the best "rising stars" Connor Mountain hasn't got a team spot this year. Another advantage of the ruling is Jordan Jenkins improved form this year, without the RS rules he'd have been dropped for a 4.00 foreigner once Peterborough kept losing!

King’s Lynn v Sheffield 01/06/23

These are all sensible comments, perhaps Belle Vue can win the league with 6 riders performing, but my point stays the same, you commented on Mark Lemon moving riders on who aren’t performing for the better of the club - just pointing out they haven't with Mulford. No matter how well they are doing 2 points a match from Bailey would be better for the club than 1 from Mulford? -

Lemon hasn't replaced Mulford who is the 2nd weakest RS, averaging 1.24 this season! -
I think that would make Ipswich far weaker, Knudsen is averaging about 2 points less than Barker in the Champ!

This is likely to be a big win for the Scorpions -

This part I agree with most, nothing against the guy, but Sam Masters racing as a number one in the Prem, doubling up in the Champ & racing in Poland, while 5 point Brits can't get a Champ spot doesn't sit well with me! We can't trust the promoter's to use Brits first, so will have to put in rules to ensure they are -
Issue 6 had Kent's averages changing 21st May. Issue 7 had Kent's averages changing 1st Jun. Presumably who posted issue 7 didn't check issue 6 first? What I don't understand is despite issue 7 CLEARLY having a mistake the referee or BSPL chose to IGNORE it because it was "official"? Anyway the point I was making, is if they don't re-run a match because of an error which affected 7 or 8 heats, they're not going to re-run a match based on a mistake in 1 or 2 heats.

That the point Naylor should have been at reserve & King in the team.

szkocjasid replied to topaz325's topic in National League Speedway
The Elite League fast track format did exactly that. I thought it was the perfect race format. Surely heat leaders racing each other more often, ditto the reserves is good for the fans (closer racing), for the riders (improve more when racing similar standard riders) and the promoter's (high paying heat leaders will naturally score less). I particularly dislike the weakest Champ reserve racing at 6, after heat 2 he meets the 1+2 then 3+4 pairing then most likely dropped from his 4th ride. How can they expect to improve under those circumstances. I certainly much prefer the RS having to race at 7 & not able to be replaced in heat 8 in the Prem, wish they'd at least do the same in the Champ with the lowest averaged reserve. -
Why should the match be re-run? If a mistake was made just remove the reserve replacement for the missing riders 4th ride. Leicester vs Kent was ridden with 2 Kent riders in the wrong positions (Naylor & King) but there's been nothing said about that from the BSPL I've seen? Probably because they don't want to admit they made a mistake with the team decelerations.

Don't know what has happened to Harry, if they're looking for a replacement need to do it before he drops to a 3.00 average. Although Josh Warren has shown how riders can turn their form around after dropping to reserve! -

Monarchs Academy vs Oxford Chargers - Fri 2nd June
szkocjasid replied to Bojangles's topic in National League Speedway
If true that would be a very childish attitude by any speedway rider. A rider getting dropped after not scoring well is hardly headline news or disgraceful behaviour by a promotion! -
Surely using a guests or r/r for a rider who got injured racing for you (Nielsen) is better than a guest fir a rider who has never ridden for you (Dan T)?

Can't see Birmingham troubling Glasgow, should be a 14+ win for the Tigers
