Warsaw GP Saturday 17th May
szkocjasid replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I must admit, I just assumed he must've finished 10th on 6 points. Only once before can I remember 6 points being enough for the top 8. -
As long as Dan is back for the "big matches" Glasgow should be fine. Ipswich will miss him more. Biggest loss is Dan's SGP2 chances. Is there a later qualifying round he could be moved into?

While I agree what Polis did was very wrong & out of order towards the Monarchs. How can you have a punishment for a rider but not a team. Sam Hagon, Bastien Borke & Danyon Hume all dropped after riding a couple of fixtures. If a rider can be let go at the drop of a hat, why can't riders leave clubs giving the same "lack of notice".
-
If Plymouth have priority & Klindt wants to ride elsewhere, just say he's "withholding his services" Klindt gets a ban & Plymouth get a facility. Klindt probably won't want to miss out on King's Lynn fixtures, so faced with the threat of a ban may ride for Plymouth instead of Poland? What pays better, one meeting in Poland vs 28 days at Lynn & Plymouth?

Bad news for both Jason & Dan, hope they both recover sharpish. Oddly enough the reserve is a bigger loss than the heat leader, while Dan's average is going up, it's going up slowly due to the rolling aves. Ipswich should still easily make the top 4, so no harm done as long as they return before the play-offs. As a neutral makes the league more interesting, not that I'd ever wish bad luck on any team. Get well soon Jason & Dan.

Why did Edinburgh get a 28 day facility for Polis, yet a day later Birmingham get a 14 day facility for MJJ?
-
Using r/r at one I'd keep the same riding order. Heat 1: Brennan Heat 5/6: King Then if Dan T is going better than Ellis Heat 10/11: Dan T Heat 13: Sayfutdinov If Ellis is going better than Dan T Heat 10/11: Sayfutdinov Heat 13: Ellis Get well soon Jason

Thought it was a bad decision to exclude Lindgren, if they touched it was so minimal. Just encourages riders to lay it down & get a re-run. Lambert was far harder on Bewley in the British final! Should Bewley have laid it down to get Lambert excluded? Get well soon Jason Doyle. -
Plymouth have 3 more matches with Klindt on his starting average, after that they could replace Cluff with a heat leader. Cluff will be at reserve for those 3 matches, so could give him a chance to pick up his scoring at number 6?
-
He was signed on a 6.23 average, so don't know how you can expect 8 points as a minimum? I'd agree it was a disappointing score but sometimes 6+ riders will score 4 points. Wether Poole were lucky or not, they got the win & will be in the play-offs. Edit. I think I misread the post I applied to. Mind you as Kerr was signed on a sub 8.00 average I don't know why you'd expect 8 points minimum. Between 7-9 would be what (from 4) would be what you could expect of him, but obviously hoping for more.

Sheffield v Ipswich Thursday 15th May
szkocjasid replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Don't really understand how it can be considered a moral victory? It was the sort of performance that will win the league title (aggregate wins). But a defeat nonetheless. Maybe if someone like Birmingham or Oxford lost by 2 points at Ipswich or Sheffield it could be considered a moral victory? -

As a cycle speedway rider I thought it was terrible team riding, obviously riders wearing helmets & racing 500cc engines won't heat shouts from the pits, so I hold Speedway riders to a different standard, but can't understand why Brennan didn't look back at all to see who was behind him? Either to block his opponent or give his partner room. -
Average is too high, can't really see Scunny making a double change.
-
Plymouth, Edinburgh & Workington could be considered weaker possibly?
-
Peter Kildemand has a 4.00 average after 6 matches. He'll be at reserve soon.

I'm pretty sure the logic being if Anders is good enough to score 15 points at number 5, with Kerr & Cook scoring more points at 3/4, then it's the wrong position for him to be riding in. -
Good news for Birmingham, team should be the strongest it has been all season, especially with Jeppesen dropping to reserve. I feel Hume had to have known he was a temporary signing, even if Birmingham didn't tell him Zagar would take his spot when he got a visa, looking at the strength of the team & how they've struggled he'd surely know his team spot was not secure. So I'd prefer to look at it as if Birmingham gave him an unexpected extra few matches after losing his spot at Sheffield, rather than feel like he's been dropped twice through no fault of his own.
-
Having a strong reserve is more of a masterstroke when a team manager gives them extra rides😝
-
If Gusts rides to his potential, could make them odds on for a top 4 spot.

For their next home match I'd try Kerr at 3, Cook at 4 & Rowe at 5. -

Nothing against Darryl Ritchings, but I'm kinda hoping he scores 0 points. Maybe help remind Poole fans it's not easy for a 2.00 reserve to score points against strong opposition reserves & they'll give Marson a bit of a break from criticism.
