I don't think it would be wise Edwards signing for Ipswich, unless he knows Jenkins won't return. Otherwise when Jenkins returns Edwards top flight season could be over (if passed the signing cut-off date). He should probably offer his services to a play-off team who would want a stronger RS, Belle Vue or Leicester for example?

Sheffield v Birmingham 03/07/25
szkocjasid replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Could you not also say "you'd have to have a heart of stone to ban a guy for being unwell" because that's what they currently do! -
I don't see why the options would be limited, as it's a non speedway injury, Riss would have to be out for a minimum of 7 days, which be would be anyway. Cannot be classified as withholding his services, after all when any other rider misses a match though illness they don't have to miss 28 days. That's providing he has a doctor's note of course.

Berwick ‘buy a brick’ Bandits 2025
szkocjasid replied to emilali's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Rolling averages can be kinda strange. Sam Hagon finished last year on 4.85. His 2025 ave is 4.29, so he's lost half a point. But his last 20 match rolling ave is 3.44! Must have scored so well at reserve for Poole, now only his top 5 scores remain! Dayle Wood has also shown the advantage of racing in the Prem before you're good enough. His 2025 ave is 2.77, but his last 20 matches is 1.70. So his poor form for Edinburgh in 2023 could help him get a team place in 2026, by adding a few low scores to his decent Berwick efforts! I wonder if any NL riders think like that? For example if Jordy Loftus becomes a superstar at Edinburgh next year, his 2025 scores will keep him at reserve for longer. -
I can't understand the logic of defending a call-off because Lynn would have a weak team. What happens if this is the case every week, do they just not finish the season? What if Birmingham took that attitude, they'd have cancelled every match! The fact that Monday's weather looks so good, makes me feel that it was called off too early. At least try & sort the track once it's had a couple of hours of sun on it.

Belle Vue v Birmingham Monday 7th July PL2
szkocjasid replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Real chance for Zischke & Mumford to improve their score with extra rides against weaker opposition. -
Sounds childish, but if I thought he'd go to Belle Vue, I'd keep him just to stop that happening. Really hate how some riders treat British Speedway.

When I read he was missing a NDT match to guest in another league I was livid, feel the NL/NT gets very little respect, but have since read he's signed for Ipswich, so that's fair he's missing for Kent. At least he gets a bit more riding while waiting for Workington.

Birmingham ductair Bulls v Kent eagles
szkocjasid replied to Petecc's topic in National League Speedway
That should not be allowed. Vinnie has signed for Kent Eagles, so should be riding for them. If he can't be bothered to race NDL/NDT he can get a 28 day ban. EDIT: I see Foord has signed for Ipswich, so I take that back. -
How can a rider decide not to race for their team to guest in another league? If Vinnie doesn't want to do NDL/NDT then don't sign in that league. EDIT: just found out Foord has signed for Ipswich, isn't a guest after all.

If what I'm reading is true, I'd drop Ben Cook asap. Lynn aren't gonna make the play-offs, so even if it weakens the team, get 7 riders who actually want to ride for you! The longer Cook stays & rides poorly, the lower his average will be for another team next season (as I can't see him coming back) and I'd have no desire to help a rider who's been mucking about his team.
-
I guess I'm thinking of Erik as a near 9 point rider on a 7 point average, I always expect him to start flying. If Redcar get guests can only replace him based on how well he's going, not how well he had the potential to do?

Plymouth v Scunthorpe 5.7.2025
szkocjasid replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
But saying Barker would not have come last on heats 13 & 15 is an opinion. Barker's home average for 2025 is 6.59 (6.82) so you can't insist he'd have scored more than r/r the way I see it. We'll never know if Plymouth would have won with Barker, but injuries, illnesses & riders preferring to be in Poland are just part of Speedway. Clubs just have to try & deal with it. -
BERWICK v EDINBURGH (July 5)
szkocjasid replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Only if they had other heat leader options that they decided against. -
Disaster for Redcar, especially with Riss not having a high average for guests. However Redcar still have a good team, a strong top 2 & promising reserves. Of course, hope Riss can make a quick recovery.

Plymouth v Scunthorpe 5.7.2025
szkocjasid replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Really don't think clubs should get a facility in this situation, either use a 75% guest or say he's withholding his services & he gets a 28 day ban. -
Give Annti Vuolas another shot?
-
But if Pedersen rides one match then walks out, Birmingham can get strong guests in for a month!
-
But what about riders who have upped their average & get dropped (like Trigger) or get dropped because someone else got injured (like Hume), what about riders who only get a handful of matches before being dropped (like Spencer)? You say it's different to being made redundant, but what about the other way round, if I want to leave my job I'm not banned from working elsewhere for 28 days. That's my issue, if clubs can drop riders at the drop of the hat, then riders should be able to leave clubs without a ban. If riders get banned for 28 days, then clubs should pay them for 28 days!

Oxford are over 2 points above the limit, wouldn't be easy to fit Nicholls back in. Who would they drop Jenkins (injured), Knudsen (misses matches)? Jody Scott would've been useful on a 2, but he's not available now. Sam Masters 10.29 Scott Nicholls 8.53 Cameron Heeps 6.51 Mitchell McDiarmid 5.71 Luke Killeen 4.23 Darryl Ritchings 2.35 Max James / Tom Spencer 2.00 Total 39.62 Sam Masters 10.29 Scott Nicholls 8.53 Mitchell McDiarmid 5.71 James Pearson 5.51 Luke Killeen 4.23 Ben Trigger 3.34 Darry Ritchings 2.35 Total 39.96
