  1. We had a poor record at Sheffield until this year. We won’t continually be poor at the NSS, the team is too good for that to happen.
  2. Belle Vue HAD Zach Cook. Whether Rew’s sudden availability has given them second thoughts and caused them to back out of a deal with Zach, who knows. Both fit average wise for Ben Cook to get them under the limit. Still think they’ll keep their word and go with Zach but we’ll see.
  3. “Get ready for a frantic Friday”? I guess just announcing Klindt on his own is considered frantic by Lynn’s standards tbf 😜
  4. Reading Morris’ comments in the PR, he mentions getting more local double headers on this year. Wonder if that means we’ll get our old Bank Holiday double header back on? Hope so
  5. And rightly so. Much better idea than having an uneven number of clubs and one club skipping a round. Good decision.
  6. They’re still part of the team. The others have also ridden and “done their jobs”. Never gonna agree with you here. Not wanting the very best riders out on track as often as possible is absolutely bonkers. Only in Speedway.
  7. I think you know what I’m saying without getting all “Pooleyfied” 🙄
  8. But we have so many moaning about value for money. Surely, you want to see Sayfutdinov, Woffinden, Bewley etc as often as possible? If it’s a superheat, watching the best riders, sometimes the best riders in the world, battling each other three times in the last four heats is something EVERY fan should want to see? Why on earth wouldn’t you want that?
  9. Dunno myself. Is it anymore Mickey Mouse than having clubs have a bye and racing less fixtures to win it than others? I quite like this idea actually. Also gives their supporters a juicy fixture to look forward to and see riders at their track that they’re currently not seeing.
  10. And he didn’t get going until May/June! His mechanical issues were well documented both here and in Poland. Once sorted he was back to the form he showed the previous season where he comfortably topped the averages. He’s now on a figure a point less than the one he started on, there’s an increase there. He’s another reason we’ve managed to squeeze in the team we have, alongside five brits with reductions and one of them on a 25% reduction. Our main competition you’d think, will all have a weaker team on paper than they did this year. We probably won’t get another opportunity as good as next year for a while, they’ve built absolutely superbly.
  11. Take your point to a degree, the body naturally takes longer to heal as you get older but in the nicest possible way, Doyle is a bit of a freak when it comes to fitness. His fitness routine through the winter is insane. There was a piece done on Anglia TV last year showing all the high tech equipment in his gym and the personal trainer he has with him. He doesn’t have an ounce of body fat on him which is why I think he has more longevity than most. I don’t think this particular crash and the length of time it has taken is due to age. It was awful and done a lot of damage. Bit of a shame the few meetings he planned to do in Australia this winter are not now happening. Hopefully he gets a warm up meeting or two in over here before the season starts. Don’t care how experienced you are, over 10 months out is a long time without racing.
  12. Doyle is a racer and a hard charger so has a few spills here and there. But in all the years he’s ridden in the UK, how many of those have resulted in a season ending long term injury like this one?
  13. Is it? I’d say the odds are extremely remote that the exact same thing will happen next year that happened this, let alone (we all know it’s gonna happen). Equal chance of injuries happening to every other club in the league.
  14. Little value on having a flutter on Ipswich. Up to you obviously it’s your money, but the odds will be terribly short and in this sport you can go from red hot favourites to rank outsiders in one meeting. Look what happened this year. I always think it’s better to look lower down for value. There’s sometimes some strange looking big prices on a team or two who look half decent.
  15. Again, please don’t feed him. He got one or two early bites and is now rolling with it and enjoying himself. Don’t do it.
  16. Ellis at 2 for me personally. Let him ride with his mate. King and Brennan could make a good pairing at 3 and 4. King prefers the outside, Brennan more an inside line rider. Could work well.
  17. https://ipswichwitches.co/2025-signing-tom-brennan/
  18. Doyle 9.36 Emil 9.12 Brennan 6.52 Ellis 5.47 King 6.14 Thompson 3.11 Total 39.72.
  19. It’s difficult to know. Lynn with Bomber at reserve should in theory have the strongest reserves. But nobody is quite sure at the moment which direction Boughen is heading. Jenkins looks the strongest rising Star to me, and Dan averaged over 5 (with bonus points) riding most of the season at number 2. He’s not likely to move out of the reserve berth this time with the top 5 we have so the reserves look a potent pairing. There’s no obvious weakness anywhere in the team really.
  20. Nobody else is risking it though Shano! Of course they must be confident, and a limit of 40 must have been agreed in principle, but it’s only ever official once it’s confirmed at the AGM itself which doesn’t even begin until tomorrow. To my knowledge, this is the first time in British Speedway history that a club has announced their full septet before the Annual Conference.
