Ipswich v Belle Vue 27th March KOC 2nd leg
Arch Stanton replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good opening night crowd and a good atmosphere. People were certainly enjoying themselves. All the riders seem to get on really well and it seems a very happy camp which always helps. Confidence is high all the way through the side. Belle Vue were woeful mind you. Way off it. -

Was very noticeable around bends one and two and apparently bend three even more so but couldn’t really tell from where we stood. Louis explains what they’ve done here https://x.com/ipswichspeedway/status/1905277612299096223?s=61 -

Tonight possibly GM because Doyle doesn’t quite look back on it yet. Otherwise I’d never back Kurtz to outscore Doyle at Foxhall. Kurtz outscored him three seasons ago but took an extra ride to do so. Since then hasn’t really got close. Would never back against Kurtz beating him here though because he’s probably the best visiting rider I’ve seen in recent years. -

You could say one or two of those look a bit conservative as well so it’s difficult to make a case for Belle Vue but who knows, early season and first meeting back at home can be unpredictable. Don’t think any of us predicted a win at Belle Vue on Monday let alone such a comfortable one. As I said at the start of this thread I’m always a bit reluctant to be over confident because you could end up looking daft and we all know who’d be on here after the meeting smashing the multi quote button 😁 -

Probably none if I’m being honest. -

Not sure about the 16/20 point win shouts myself. I think Belle Vue will be smarting after Monday and determined to show that it was just early season gremlins and that there isn’t actually much between the two sides. Not sure they realistically believe they can go through, but they’ll want a fighting performance to prove a point. -

But home track advantage should negate that to a degree and be more of a leveller. I’m not saying he SHOULD be winning two out of three of their clashes, because I agree with you Jenkins is a better rider. But on your home track you should be hoping he’ll get the better of his opposite number more often than not. I’ve seen Mulford have some very good rides at the NSS and beat some good riders. Pretty sure he won a heat at Foxhall last year beating Doyle of all people? Then again my memory is absolutely terrible these days and I may have just made that up 😵💫 -

Maybe you’re hoping your rising star will be beating his opposite number two out of three times rather than the other way round on his home track. He’s done enough laps around there now although as you rightly say, Jenkins is a better rider so maybe a little harsh. Again you’re right, there’s nobody else in the Ipswich team he should be beating really. -
https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-guide-belle-vue-h/ Reluctant to say this is a formality because sometimes you can end up looking stupid, but in reality this SHOULD be pretty straightforward to progress to the next round. Zach far far better here than his brother was so Belle Vue will be stronger here this year so expecting a decent contest. Always good watching Kurtz around Foxhall, really fast here.

App Store for IOS, so for iPhone and iPad/Mac. It’s available on the Google App Store as well I believe for Android devices. Couldn’t be without it tbh -

Emil started slowly last year too but he’ll get it together soon enough no danger. He was his dominant self from mid season onwards so not concerned by a slow start. -

Think that’s what you call laying down a marker.. It’s a good feeling looking at every heat and thinking at worst you can get a drawn heat. So much strength in depth in this team. Much more to come from the top two as well so it shows the strength of the team when they have off nights and still win comfortably. Lovely to see Danny fit and happy! The two boys at reserve also very good. -

I’d snap your hand off for an 8 point defeat right now. Not sure we’ve ever got that close before? An 8 point defeat and I’d be extremely confident on Thursday at Foxhall. Emil wasn’t on the pace in the Peter Craven last week, in fact he looked awful. Maybe he was trying things, maybe he wasn’t. But we’re going to need double figures from him here. We look such a strong side on paper and we won everywhere last year with our full side except here. This track is an obvious issue for us. King, Ellis, Dan and Jenkins all scored poorly on every visit although Dan had a decent meeting from reserve first time out scoring 9. -

That didn’t happen throughout the entire meeting Steve.
