  1. If Brennan is available he has to be targeted. Rides Foxhall well and he was outstanding in the Semi at Leicester. He’ll have plenty of offers though you’d assume and it all comes down to numbers also, especially if it drops to 39 and Sayfutdinov returns. That will make fitting Brennan in very difficult. We have to retain Ellis also for me. Again, unlucky with injury which meant he had a stop start season which affected his progress but when he had runs injury free he showed what he can do. 9.42 including bonus points home average this year. Current GSA of 5.47 still looks very cheap for his ability.
  2. But it’s competition. Where do you stop trying to manufacture performance/results by throwing in a “helping hand” to clubs? If you continue to do that then you slowly take away the competitive nature of the competition itself. It’s a brand new season, the clubs that finished towards the bottom now have equal opportunity to build competitive teams for next year to compete better. They shouldn’t be artificially helped in my opinion.
  3. It was 23 or under from January 1st according to this/last season’s rules. We’ll have to wait and see what the criteria is for the 2025 season.
  4. They’re not building teams as in getting signatures on paper bar the odd one or two riders that won’t affect team building regardless of points limit. There are frequent meetings leading up to the annual AGM where everything is discussed and things are loosely agreed prior to the AGM itself. But there are promoters that know (and there’s a few that lurk here I promise you), that nothing is set in stone until the conference. There can be a points limit agreed by the majority, only for a few to change their mind at the AGM and swing it the other way scuppering plans that certain promotions had in place. There isn’t a single promotion that can make concrete plans until the conference has been completed.
  5. I honestly have no idea on King. The only certainty is Doyle will be number 1, and Rew has another offer but the club want him to stay.
  6. Hope you’re correct, but I’ve heard similar to Phil. A few clubs pushing hard for a reduction due to a lack of top class number 1’s that three clubs in particular hoover up every year leaving the others feeding on scraps. Ipswich have a team A, and a team B for both a 39, and 40 point limit.
  7. Missed out last year in the final heat of the final meeting and missed out this year when both become injured! It’s no coincidence that the three clubs that seem to be competing for the title in recent years (Ipswich, Belle Vue, Sheffield) all have two big hitters. Emil/Doyle, Bewley/Kurtz, Holder/Woffinden. Poole another example, won every year with a top heavy team with Chris Holder and Darcy ward. It’s clearly the way to go to have the biggest chance of success.
  8. The points limit isn’t set in stone as yet. Half are pushing for a reduction, the others want to retain the 40 limit. Doesn’t take a genius to work out which clubs want what.
  9. Probably 😂 always seemed crazy odds to me though 14/1.

  11. He might well be, but he may well be snapped up elsewhere before Sheffield get to have their pick.. Thats also if he’s allowed to drop back in to a rising star position as well.
  12. I did concede they weren’t the final averages, but the latest declaration is all we currently have to go on. As I say, if you’ve worked out what’s still to come on to those then fair play to you. All academic anyway as that won’t be the Ipswich team.
  13. In the words of Les Dennis, if that happens I’ll give you the money meself 😉
  14. I’m sorry, but she absolutely DID steal the show. It’s the hot topic of debate there’s no doubt about it. Louis was pretty lenient in his response and very gracious when interviewed last night IMO. I’m not sure many others would have been quite so dignified!
  15. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/p24_issue_33.pdf These are the latest GSA’s. Not the final averages so if you’ve worked out what the final averages will be you’re far better at this than me so I’ll bow to your knowledge on this one.
  16. Looks to me like he’s just giving his honest opinion to start with but then being a bit careful in the second part. Don’t think he could be accused of any bias here as I think 99% of people are of the same opinion regarding the decisions last night aren’t they?
  17. Point one, I’m hearing conflicting things on whether Jenkins will be eligible or not we’ll just have to wait and see. Point two, the latest GSA’s with 2.5% reduction for the British riders, and 25% reduction for Dan Thompson for exiting the rising star scheme.
  18. It hasn’t produced a title no but that’s not due to the way the team was built. You can’t do anything about rotten luck and circumstance. This years 1-7 was quite clearly the strongest team in the league, with the top heavy approach having two world class riders. Poole used to clean up every year back in the day with Holder and Darcy Ward 9+ pointers. It’s the way to go IMO. We’ll agree to disagree.
