Have to agree tbh. Seems they’ve pinned all their hopes on Holder getting his visa, and with that not happening this late in the day they’ve now got very few options. As you say, seems a bit desperate. Crump will generate a lot of interest, purely because of what he once was, but he’s not going to trouble the heatleaders even in this watered down league.

I just posted above yours that surely something needs to be clarified this week. I’m normally one of the more patient sort but even I’m starting to get a bit fed up with it all now. But having said that, I’m sure they could easily have completed the team before Christmas but it obviously wouldn’t have been the team they wanted. Let’s see who the heatleader is and fingers crossed CL would have been proven absolutely correct to play the waiting game.

Must surely hear something this coming week? If not definite signings then an update at least on the search. The timeframe CL put on signing his heatleader has expired..

Still can’t get my head around this today. I have Ipswich Witches twitter notifications switched on, and when you get a notification it only reveals part of the content. It said “Ipswich Speedway are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Danny Ayre..” I fully expected to open the tweet fully and read that his Mother or Father had passed, but to see it was the lad himself made me nearly drop my phone. Absolutely heartbreaking it really is. His poor family and friends, thoughts very much with them at the moment.

Exactly. If you must do it this way, at least leave 8 minimum otherwise you’ve reduced your options from the off! I think it’s mad announcing 6 riders without a 7th signed I really do. Announce 5 fair enough, at least that gives you a little wiggle room with 2 spaces left. If we can only manage to find a 6 pointer then we’re as bad as Wolves and will have built nearly 2 points under the limit. Seems a complete balls up.

I see in the Speedway Star Ritchie Hawkins under the title “Witches’ search”, says we have “plenty of points to play with” in the search for the last rider and hopefully get something sorted in the next couple of weeks after admitting it’s been difficult getting a top rider in. So we actually HAVE, signed and announced 6 riders without having a scooby who the last rider is! That’s staggering

We’ll just have to be patient a little longer.
