  1. Spot on. Look at the reaction of Chris Louis and the riders at the end of this https://x.com/ipswichspeedway/status/1702642124003418184?s=46 So nice to see.
  2. You beat me to it. I’m sure he must have but I can’t recall Pickering winning a race at Foxhall last couple of seasons! He’s absolutely dreadful here.
  3. It wasn’t Cookie, 2010 was the first season after the widening during that winter. It’s had another couple of minor alterations since then but nothing as drastic as the original work done that winter.
  4. Scored a 12 max on his last Foxhall visit in 2010. Still doesn’t mean he enjoyed it mind you.
  5. Yeah that’s fine, but then don’t allow a guest at 1 either then, run R/R. My argument is allowing one but not another and I still haven’t seen a valid reason why a guest can’t be used for your number 7 but perfectly ok further up.
  6. Already 6 down and I think we’ll give more points away down at 7 tonight so a bit more to claw back. Could be wrong of course and I hope I am! I still vividly remember that cup final second leg against the Panthers when it was “done” after the first leg..
  7. Agree to disagree. The “pool” isn’t very big and most on that list are completely out of their depth bar a small handful that the others are already using. You obviously can’t run R/R for your number 7 either so this particular rule is a complete nonsense. Anyone who loses their number 1 aren’t particularly disadvantaged as they can pick up a current GP rider, but someone losing their Rising Star are pretty much buggered. You should have the same freedom of choice for your number 7 as you get for your number 1. I don’t see why one has to be different to the other.
  8. Possibly, but league fixtures are over. Play offs aren’t part of the league fixtures programme technically. Get a lawyer it works for others
  9. None of Jenkins, Rowe or Kemp will be in a 1-7 come play off time though as their clubs season will be over Another daft rule though who comes up with these. Sheffield can take their pick from a number one not in the play offs to cover their injured number one, but we can’t use one of those clubs’ rising stars to cover our injured rising star. Why? Would love to hear the official reason for this rule.
  10. So Sheffield bring a 6 point lead to Foxhall. Would have taken that at the start. Fricke with a stinker and a bit of an off night for Emil and Doyle too. Only two wins between the three of them all night long! Doubt you’d see that again. King top man for Witches tonight. Can consider himself a bit unlucky not to get heat 15.
  11. Ah the old reverse psychology stuff, marvellous. If we do happen to win it, it’s only because of everyone else’s misfortune too. Could smell this coming a mile off but it’s still happened a tad earlier than I expected!
  12. I know cost has been mentioned but it’s crazy in a sport as dangerous as this that not everyone is tested before every meeting. It’s one thing testing in a sport like athletics where nobody can possibly get hurt, but in a sport where riders can and sometimes are, paralysed or killed it beggars belief that there’s not compulsory testing for every rider before meetings.
  13. Always a possibility but on 4.81 from being at reserve all year to being in the main body if he was here at Ipswich, I’m not sure personally. I’d give him a miss. Hard to disagree with any of that.
  14. Quite right. Highly rated but he’s been awful which just shows you it’s always a risk. To be fair to him though he hasn’t been here long so a bit harsh to judge.
  15. 38.7 currently so under this years rules, your team is doable and just shows you can build a very good side by retaining the top two. You could also replace Douglas with Ellis giving an extra point, move Thompson to rising star and then find a 4 pointer at 6. There’ll be plenty of options if they go the top heavy route again.
  16. I wouldn’t gamble on Riss again Gavan, even on his lower average. Let someone else take the risk this time. Adam Ellis has dropped a point off his average after a bad year but as far as I’m aware, it’s not health related? They’re the type of riders to go for. 5.71 average
  17. Agree of course, but Louis has to take responsibility for not addressing those issues. With all due respect to Joe Thompson, it was a very strange choice when other better riders were sitting there waiting to be picked, although it’s difficult to be too critical here because we don’t know that one of or both or Kemp and Rowe were asked and said no for whatever reason. The biggest and strangest decision (or lack of) is the Riss one. SHOULD have been replaced very early on which even he accepts he expected, but for some reason only Louis knows, he wasn’t.
  18. Not really, it also guarantees entertainment. They’ve been an absolute joy to watch all season long the pair of them.
  19. Seems to be getting better as he’s getting older! Always doubtful that R Lambert would commit to a full season but if Lynn could get both Lamberts signed up for next year that would be a huge start to team building.
