  1. Even if he HAS agreed to ride for Sheffield, we could still offer him a good (better) deal
  2. Anyway forecast isn’t particularly great for tomorrow. Showers off and on pretty much all day although the forecast I saw there was nothing substantial and it’s improved slightly from yesterday. Time for it to improve more before tomorrow.
  3. If he was available you’d think Sheffield would have probably used him instead of Fricke last Monday when Lynn weren’t riding so you’re more than likely correct. It’s just another rule that I hadn’t even thought about to be honest. Same as the rule about not being able to use a rising star guest from Leicester but perfectly fine to use their number 1 as a guest. I get lost with half these rules these days and most seem to make little sense to me.
  4. But I don’t see it as a “loophole” to try and exploit. Robert Lambert has an official GSA currently of 7.81 so I wouldn’t look at it as “trying to get away with one”. Genuinely a bit baffled here.
  5. Yeah I get that, but that’s not the way I’d personally feel about it. To me, that’s not what an “assessed” average is, I’ve never thought of it that way. To me it’s an official green sheet average so no bending of the rules necessary. I’ve always thought an assessed average was an average assigned to a new rider that hasn’t yet achieved an official GSA.
  6. I get what you’re saying, but it’s still an achieved averaged and not an assessed average for a newcomer. There’s surely grounds there to at least push surely?
  7. Possibly we’ll see, but he’s definitely the right pick for the NSS considering the options. Maybe Joe for the home leg. We’ve been so unlucky with the rising stars this year. Lost Thomas before a wheel was turned who I'm convinced would have been one of the stronger rising stars, and then just as Dan Thompson was riding himself in to form and riding superbly we then lost him!
  8. Think Belle Vue will see this as their biggest hurdle to retaining their title. Get through this and they’ll be more than confident of beating either of the other two over two legs in the final. Same goes for us actually.
  9. Jack Smith is a shrewd choice for the NSS and is more than capable of taking points off Bailey. Smith beat Bailey twice in heats 13 and 15 around there a few weeks ago riding for the Colts.
  10. https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-preview-belle-vue-sports-insure-premiership-play-off-semi-final-first-leg-a/ Jack Smith in at 7 for Witches.
  11. Spot on. Look at the reaction of Chris Louis and the riders at the end of this https://x.com/ipswichspeedway/status/1702642124003418184?s=46 So nice to see.
  12. You beat me to it. I’m sure he must have but I can’t recall Pickering winning a race at Foxhall last couple of seasons! He’s absolutely dreadful here.
  13. It wasn’t Cookie, 2010 was the first season after the widening during that winter. It’s had another couple of minor alterations since then but nothing as drastic as the original work done that winter.
  14. Scored a 12 max on his last Foxhall visit in 2010. Still doesn’t mean he enjoyed it mind you.
  15. Yeah that’s fine, but then don’t allow a guest at 1 either then, run R/R. My argument is allowing one but not another and I still haven’t seen a valid reason why a guest can’t be used for your number 7 but perfectly ok further up.
  16. Already 6 down and I think we’ll give more points away down at 7 tonight so a bit more to claw back. Could be wrong of course and I hope I am! I still vividly remember that cup final second leg against the Panthers when it was “done” after the first leg..
  17. Agree to disagree. The “pool” isn’t very big and most on that list are completely out of their depth bar a small handful that the others are already using. You obviously can’t run R/R for your number 7 either so this particular rule is a complete nonsense. Anyone who loses their number 1 aren’t particularly disadvantaged as they can pick up a current GP rider, but someone losing their Rising Star are pretty much buggered. You should have the same freedom of choice for your number 7 as you get for your number 1. I don’t see why one has to be different to the other.
  18. Possibly, but league fixtures are over. Play offs aren’t part of the league fixtures programme technically. Get a lawyer it works for others
  19. None of Jenkins, Rowe or Kemp will be in a 1-7 come play off time though as their clubs season will be over Another daft rule though who comes up with these. Sheffield can take their pick from a number one not in the play offs to cover their injured number one, but we can’t use one of those clubs’ rising stars to cover our injured rising star. Why? Would love to hear the official reason for this rule.
  20. So Sheffield bring a 6 point lead to Foxhall. Would have taken that at the start. Fricke with a stinker and a bit of an off night for Emil and Doyle too. Only two wins between the three of them all night long! Doubt you’d see that again. King top man for Witches tonight. Can consider himself a bit unlucky not to get heat 15.
  21. Ah the old reverse psychology stuff, marvellous. If we do happen to win it, it’s only because of everyone else’s misfortune too. Could smell this coming a mile off but it’s still happened a tad earlier than I expected!
