Hope you enjoy your trip, I think you could well steal a win. Make a big to the potters league position especially if you picked up all 4 points.
-
Damn i was out by a point on both sides. Great win for Stoke, with everybody contributing. The Colts put up a decent display against a very strong Stoke side. Good performance from Timbo
-
Should be a cracker, Stoke should have enough to pick up the win though. Stoke 54 Belle Vue 39

Well done Scunthorpe. Great performances from Irving & Birks. Irving particularly has made great progress imo dominant at home, better away & put some good scores in at PL level, well done. Wrathall, Nielsen & Worral provided good support tonight as well by the looks of it. Hornets did as I expected, happy enough with the performance.

Should be a Scunny win. Somewhere between 10-20 points i would think. Good luck to the Hornets though.

Yep mate definitely agree with that, we all want that & hopefully whatever they do helps the sport in the UK & the young lads move forward. Good to see that the young heathen lads are ok. -

Ben what your saying is the loopholes shouldn't be closed as long as we force them to ride for Britain which isn't the same thing. I highly doubt it will ever be enforceable in law. Unless qualification criteria for representing a country changed across all sports. I highly doubt that even if it was enforced we would feel any benefit to the system before the NL and the standard of British riders in the NL is no comparison nor will it be unless we see drastic changes before they reach the NL. Forcing them to ride for GB if they wished to ride NL,would probably mean they would all come over on 5s to the PL anyway and still be for the most part miles better than anything produced domestically. It's funny how many British people selectively choose when they are/are not British but don't approve of other people having more than 1 nationality or think that they should have the same freedom of choice. I'm more than willing to agree to disagree on the matter, I'm glad to see that your still as passionate about young riders and the NL as ever. -

CrystalCastles replied to heathen79's topic in National League Speedway
Which would mean we would have no chance of any of them riding for Team GB, at least with what we have then they might choose to ride for Team GB. But rest assured if that happened at the top level Team GB will still be rubbish when it matters, until they get investment & development in place & realise & accept where Team GB's place in the speedway world is. -

I disagree that choice should remain with the individual as it is in every single other sport. The only reason people want it to be the case is a) Because they realise the Aussies who have British passports/some form of nationality are better than anything coming out of the GB isles atm. Because they want to win. I think the rules should stay as they are. It's funny how people who claim to not want any dual nationality riders in the NL would sell out there ideals if the riders were forced to ride for Team GB. And probably wouldn't have a problem if one of them chose to ride for Team GB under the current rules. I think they have a better chance of getting someone to ride for Team GB out of choice than enforcement. I highly doubt any of the dual nationality Aussies would take a place in the NL if they were forced to ride for Team GB. -
Dudley Heathens Vs Newport Hornets
CrystalCastles replied to CrystalCastles's topic in National League Speedway
Glad to see us get closer than I expected with the aid of TR & a few extra points that were unexpected e.g. Tom Young holding on to win heat 8. Rich Andrews put in a useful display at reserve picking up a few points. Todd & Jay led from the front & had good battles with Kyle who also put in a good display. Well done to Dudley. -
Meeting Preview can be found here Can see us getting well 'Ommered. Hopefully TK & Jay will provide some entertainment alongside Mattie who has showed good form this year. Can see the rest of the team struggling. Kyle should be motivated for this one. Big win for the Heathens. 58-35

Im interested Baggy. Stoke meeting preview can be found here Pickard & Webster against Hughes & Cockle should provide interesting racing, whilst the young stars less experienced riders always give a good account of themselves and are very entertaining. However with Stoke at full strength can see the Young Stars, having a long night. Rambo could well get a max in this one. Stoke 58 Young Stars 34

RT, your entitled to your opinion, and i know we amongst others have differences in opinion over this, but id like to understand where you stand on it as an actual issue and not just specifically in Cameron's case or Speedway's case, i don't want to jump to glaring assumptions and guess what you mean, so im going to post the following questions, but you reserve the right to not answer them is you so wish it. You state that you are proud to be British, and clearly you are a very passionate person, which i have a lot of respect for but do you consider yourself to be just British or do you consider yourself to be English/NI/Scottish/Welsh & British? Do you think that contrary to current regulations & international legislation regarding nationality, i.e. dual nationality/citizenship, that the only way you should be able to obtain nationality is by being born in a country? If yes do you have an issue with all other people having >1 nationality or specifically just sportspeople? Do you follow any other sports within whether they are (team or individual) under GB & NI or the Home Nations? If so do you have as much of an issue with the system in place universally across all sports? (There are a lot of indivulas as well as British international teams in numerous sports that have individuals qualified because of dual nationality or gaining citizenship or grandparents that are British or have Nationalities of >1 of the Home Nations) Also if Cameron chose to declare himself for GB & Team GB, or any other dual nationality Aussie, would you have a problem with them riding in the NL? Or if you believe that a person may only represent there country of Birth would you have an issue with them representing GB & or Team GB?

Interesting thread. I dont think Mr Hollingsworth deserves the insulsting reamrks directed at him on here, the posters who have insulted him are absoloutely indefensible and continually let themselves down with such remarks as well as reflecting poorly on Newport as a cluib. I stated on Updates that i thought he had disgraced himself on the updates and feel i should explain my viewpoint, hopefully without some Scunny fan jumping down my neck and making silly remarks, like the referee was bought of, or some comments about the Malletts, or some comments prefixed about me or the Malletts being Welsh. In the relevant match thread, i posted nothing containing my viewpoints on Mr Hollingsworth conduct, as i didn't want it to interfere or be jumped on as part of a post, that deserved to be praising Scunthorpe's performance, and celebrating there victory, as well as having time to reflect on what i wanted to say and attempt to give an assessment of his behaviour. For someone experienced & very well respected with a good reputation and representing Scunthrope as a club i thought he disgraced himself. Given that there are appropriate channels that he could have appealed to regarding both incidents, with the track & starting marshall, i was hugely dissapointed that he decided to take matters into his own hands on both occasions. Additionally he reacted to the crowd, this could have just been an expression of emotion and in good spirit, however that is not something i think is befitting a public role, or conducting oneself in a respectable manner. Additionally when Mark Jones fell he had no concern in his reaction at all whatsoever that Mark could have been injured, fortunately Mark wasn't injured, however he looked confused and very unsteady when he got up. I thought his conduct within his role as Team Manager, made him look naive, a petulant emotional kid, and not an experienced, thoughtful and collected adult who goes about his job in a professional manner that has earnt him a respected reputation within speedway. Additionally to that he seemed to have no concern for the image that was being reflected on Scunthorpe as a club. As a result of his behaviour i have lost some of the respect i had for him.

Reading on the BSPA website essential stadium work was being undertaken but has not been completed in the time frame advised. Therefore it has been called off. To be rearranged.

I was going to post the same thing. I think he will do pretty well everywhere once he's figured out the track. Be interesting to see what he averages by the end of the season. Edited now Baggy . Thanks for bringing my multiposting to my attention.
