  1. Thanks as ever for the racecard MP, noted the subtle colour changes, will they represent a reduction in printing costs do you think?
  2. Well I reckon he would, Pedersen didn't just shut off, he had a good look at what was behind him, had plenty of time as he'd built enough of a lead in the race, there was not much chance of a pile up there. If changes are not made to the rule then it will lead to lesser skilled riders trying to do it and there could be carnage. Either way that one moment in time spoiled the memory of a good weeks speedway, it exposed the sport for the farce it is becoming.
  3. Nail on the head mate. After what we'd been served up this week I was full of expectation for a great final, considering the weather they'd had I was just glad that the meeting went ahead, the racing was ok, the result was in doubt well into the 2nd half of the meeting. For me that was enough, whatever happened after that was not going to spoil a great week of speedway. Wrong, my heart sank when Pedersen made that move, not blaming him either, he may well have been acting on team instructions, maybe not, it doesn't really matter, it's the fact that, within the rules, he was allowed to do it. I usually like the way that Pedersen livens up some meetings with his antics but this time it's not down to him, I firmly believe the Aussies would have done exactly the same thing if roles were reversed, or even the Brits if we were ever in a position to do so. Ruined the memory of the week like you say, great shame. Here's hoping it never has the chance to be repeated, won't hold my breath tho.
  4. Get real big fella, you know full well what his actions depicted, a spoilt brat who couldn't keep a grip on his disappointment. I love watching him ride but his attitude stinks.
  5. Come on you can't defend that, he was petulant and didn't set a good example to anyone, if the camera had been closer he would have gobbed all over it no danger.
  6. Come on do you reckon Crump wouldn't have done the same, or any other rider savvy enough? I don't like it but thems the rules, needs changing.
  7. Not so easy to amnipulate but if anyone can crump can.
  8. Agreed, very mature when interviewed, good rider to watch too, different style.
  9. Brilliant! Completely incoherent at times, thought Ward was Watt after correcting himself at the start of the race. Also what its Nigels fascination with the magical 12th heat, we've been having it for weeks now.
  10. Great first lap from THJ there, stuck the back wheel right in the dirt, brave ride.
  11. Don't really feel the need to support any team in this meeting, just hoping for some good racing and a reasonably close finish for the trophy. Once my own team are knocked out of any competition I lose the partizan attitude and just hope to be entertained, being English and following Manchester City has given me plenty of practice at this over the years. As much as I want to see good racing I suppose it would be improved if Nicki Pedersen can generate a bit of rough and tumble, always adds spice to any meeting when he does something daft. Most importantly of course I hope nobody gets hurt. Enjoy your speedway.
  12. He showed plenty last night but in the past he hasn't appeared so 'passionate', then again he's maturing now, easy to forget how young some of these lads are when they break on to the international scene. On a side note, thought Michael Jepsen Jensen came across well when interviewed, not cocky at all, great style of riding too.
  13. Not sure having Barker in the pits on Monday would have been a good idea, especially when it kicked off, nah, I think he was better off at the bar.
  14. You quote your own posts, how pretentious. Well done you.
  15. Not at all, points make prizes, Woffinden should have been in that last heat. *edit* I stand corrected, just assumed Tatum was right, silly me for expecting an 'expert\ to know the rules. Agree with your earlier comment about it being a decent meeting, no complaints here, wish we could have pushed closer but the Danes are just too strong on the night, or any other night as it happens.
  16. Thanks as ever MP, feel like a kid a Christmas for this one, got me 'programme' ready, was filled with cautious optimism at this time on Monday, that team effort and performance is making it hard to manage my expectations for tonight, although I should have learned my lesson by now. Come on Team GB, ride like we dream.
  17. Correct, you did not specify a time but you did suggest that the error was in winning to many races, which ones did you have in mind? After heat 6 we didn't win another until heat 10 (Harris) by which time the Aussies had played their joker. That ht 10 win put us one point in front of Australia. King won ht12, which maintained our 1point lead. The next GB race winner was in ht17 (Harris) which was for double points. Following that heat we needed to win all the remaining ones to have any chance of taking first place. So you seriously suggest that GB would have been better off giving up places early in the meeting, that's just plain ridiculous, it must have been hard enough to win those 5 races on the trot without having to try and engineer a 2nd place, or maybe you would have preferred just 1 point from certain heats.
  18. What possible justification could you have for moving it? You mentioned the crowd, well it was a decent crowd, would Wimbourne Rd or the EoES have pulled bigger numbers tonight - can't see it. The weather has been a threat and will certainly have adversely affected the turnout, same would have been true of any track. Do you just make it up as you go along with your wild claims, you've seen better racing than that this season, yeh right, course you have.
  19. That's exactly right, the sense of expectation when he's in the right mood & form is so reminiscent of Peter in his heyday, very fast and very fair. Really enjoyed that meeting and feel proud of the way the British lads took the fight to the Aussies, especially after being written off by many (including a few on here) as no-hopers before a wheel was turned. Well done Great Britain, keep it going.
  20. Couldn't agree more, definitely enhances the evening being able to fill in a 'programme', especially one that is designed with such forethought, cheers as ever Paul. Here's to a good meeting for the British lads.
  21. Not in Norfolk mate, in fact I'm only about 20miles from you. I use this for local weather and they are never far out at all, http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2641181 Suggests some rain mid/late afternoon but a dry evening, I suppose it just depends how heavy the fall is but like you say every effort will be made to get it on. In your shoes if I had to make a decision today I would go for it based on what you have. Incidentally, the forecast for the Norfolk area for today is fairly dry after 5/6pm, so the track should be ok. Hope this helps a little but I'm sure someone in the area will reply too.
