Thats what I thought as well. You can replace a rider with another up to and including the average of the rider he's replacing.
-
Hopefully someone will give the lad an opportunity soon then. Clearly looks to have something about him, good age too.
-
How old is the lad Nielsen? Anyone seen enough of the lad to think he is ready and could do a job at reserve in the PL?
-
And last season Ipswich signed 3 whilst Somerset only signed the one. What is your point exactly? All this "your team hasn't got a Brit while mine has" stuff is utter nonsense. All the Brits that are good enough and wanted, were signed. Those that weren't, were deemed not good enough and not wanted. Ipswich swapped Mills and Hart for Tungate and Heeps, pretty hard to argue that they didn't do the right thing.
-
Don't be surprised if Nathan signs on for Ipswich.
-
Exactly.
-
Well yes to both obviously. Ipswich have just sold an "asset" which your promoter has just said has given the club added security.
-
I'd say it was pretty big news to be fair and a little surprising. Are Ipswich planning a prolonged stay in the Premier league? Signing up Doolan and Risager as club assets and selling the only real Elite asset they have in King, would suggest so.

Ippo should go for Gjedde.

Holder's 2009 starting average was 8.80.
-
6.5 rider? who are you talking about? Neither Holder nor Pedersen were a 6.5 rider at the start of 2009. Edit; Holder's 2008 greensheet was 8.80 and Pedersen's 9.13 so i'm guessing they started 2009 with those averages. Also the Poole 2009 team was built to a 39.90 team building average compared to Plymouth's 42.50 so i think its a fair comparison. The crux of the point though is that teams built top heavy are not often successful. I agree with the other poster its complete madness signing both Fisher and Barker.
-
Not for me Halifax i just can't see it. The pressure on Barker and Fisher will be huge and you say that they will be pretty unbeatable at SBA, well i'm afraid they're going to have to be. There will be meetings though even at home when things don't go quite right for one or both of them, and that will result in a home defeat as the back up just isn't there. Obviously time will tell but i think the bookies have Plymouth spot on.
-
We'll agree to disagree. Even with Lanham, i can see them losing a handful at home. Not by much, but i think you'll see a fair few 44-46 type scores.
-
But what is considered success for Plymouth? are we talking trophies? If we are then they certainly will be without success as they'll win nothing with that side. I can't see that septet collectively scoring enough points to win meetings even at home. The big hitting duo will score enough between them to see that they won't get hammered too often, but more often than not i can see them just coming up short of the 46 points needed to win meetings.
-
The best spearhead in the league by a country mile. They can't win meetings by themselves though. Bottom for me.
-
Think he meant the forum in general not just this thread. I expect Heeps to be the National Leagues top rider this year. Riding PL with Ipswich will help him along to the next level. Awesome talent.
-
To be fair to Plymouth, it wasn't them who revealed it. It was Lanham himself to the local Ipswich rag. Not the most professional thing Lanham has done it has to be said especially as he isn't even sure of accepting the place. He knows full well Plymouth has a full line up at present and a fellow rider could lose his place a result!! If he isn't sure of accepting, why unsettle a fellow rider by revealing he's been offered their place?
-
Fairy Nuff. They're not "my"reserves by the way, try Ricky Kling and Todd Kurtz
-
Yep Kyle Howarth and Gary Irving are better along with the Newport pair apparently But of course, as "spin king" rightly pulled me up on, everyone is entitled to their own unbiased opinions
-
Another patriotic fanatic who probably goes to bed in his union jack pants signing god save the queen.
-
He'll soon surpass Masters imo. He may be 21, but still very inexperienced when it comes to speedway. Only going to get better as the season goes on and he's one massive reason i think Ipswich will go very close to the title next season. By the time the play offs come around, Tungate and Heeps will be even better riders than the ones that started the season. I expect Tungate to quickly move in to the main body of the Ipswich side, and when he does, you're looking at probably Dakota North dropping in alongside Heeps and we all saw what he did for Somerset in a reserve berth last season. I can't see another club that will have the reserve power Ipswich will have all season long no matter who is riding down there.
-
Not even the promoters themselves seem to know the rule regarding this as the confusion between Glasgow and Berwick over Bellego proves. It seems to be a grey area. As far as i'm aware, none of Taylor Poole, Dakota North or Rene Back have ridden 4 home and 4 away meetings for Peterborough but all three are claimed by Peterborough to be club assets, how does that work?
-
-
Who would you rather have as a reserve pair at Newport, Bellego and Edberg or Heeps and Tungate? I'd bet my last rolo that if you offered the Berwick promotion Heeps and Tungate for Bellego and Edberg they'd snap your hand off.
-
Cameron Heeps improved it no question. He also put extra bums on seats.
