  1. My wife comes from Bury st Edmunds and is a big Ippo fan. She's been to a few of these too, and while there wasnt an official questions and answers session, just about everybody approached the promotion afterwards with questions and those questions as far as I know we're answered.
  2. If that's the way you read it then fair enough. I've read the tweet posted, and I read it as an unnecessary pop. Like I said, it may well have been posted tongue in cheek and innocently, but that's not the way it came across in that tweet, to me.
  3. Not really considering Hawkins himself hasn't "turned up" for plenty away meetings himself this year! Bit rich if you ask me. Actually, that's pretty poor from the "captain". Not sure it was necessary to have a dig at a teammate on social media for all and sundry to see. It may well be tongue in cheek, although with no smillies it doesn't come across that way, so out of order to single him out like that.
  4. Manzares is proving to be a very good signing for Ipswich. Looks a good little rider
  5. Aww give over! He's not riding in to Ipswich on his white horse to do them a favour or dig Ipswich and their fans out of a hole, he was offered the chance to earn himself some extra cash and he accepted. Ipswich fans are right to be concerned as he's crap. Having said that he'll probably score some points as the Peterborough reserves are not too hot either.
  6. A 3 year visa too so he's sorted for a few years!
  7. It's pretty blatant you're not just "expressing an opinion" as it's plainly obvious to be a dig at Ipswich after the fall out from the Ipswich Edinburgh meeting/thread. The viewing at Ipswich whether you like it or not, is second to none with it's raised terracing. Certainly the tracks you mention as being "better", don't even come remotely close.
  8. Well said. Ellis has gotten off lightly compared to the abuse Jerran Hart suffered a few seasons ago. That wasn't simply a case of not rating the riders ability, it was a complete character assassination and became a personal vendetta for whatever reason. It made for very uncomfortable reading and god only knows how this person has survived so long on here. Mischievous banter is one thing, but some crossed the line with his nasty, spiteful attacks on certain individuals at Ipswich speedway.
  9. Nelson has been a big disappointment. Mellgren the only real plus point for Rye this season he's been pretty consistent.
  10. Everyone said that Lanham being at number 1 last year was the reason his average dropped, but this year he's not at 1 and he's been even worse. He's the one that should be backing up Barker but I'm afraid he looks a spent force. Could cost Ippo in the end. If Louis is serious about winning the title, then maybe a change is the order of the day IF a better alternative could be found.
  11. Was about to say the same about Barker. Cook and Doyle are great number 1's, but when Barker is on song he's the best and most entertaining rider in the PL bar none. He's the type of rider you don't mind paying good money to watch.
  12. I meant this season being his first full season. Ellis is very highly rated and was targeted by just about every club in the League.
  13. With the greatest respect to Jacobs, I don't think many would plump for him over Adam Ellis. Ellis in his first full season is already a better rider than Jacobs who has been around a few years now.
  14. So, barring injuries Ipswich will face Scunthorpe in the re-staging a stronger looking side than the one which would have taken to the track last Thursday. Still, if the track is "waterlogged" what can you do...
  15. Ahh fairy Nuff. Good signing for Eastbourne talented lad.
  16. Stoneman couldn't be an asset of any club until he turned 16 in September. I don't think he's signed a club contract with anyone yet although with Chris Louis promoting at Mildenhall, I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't snapped up at Ipswich.
  17. What's happened to Tungate? Started the season really well but has been awful the second half of the campaign. Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole on that average next year
  18. If you want to spin that comment like that then that is entirely up to you.
  19. You could say Workington got an advantage in the first place facing Ipswich minus their in form rider due to a late international call up and their key reserve. At the end of the day your promotion were given the opportunity to replay the meeting this week with Ipswich apparently happy to do so, but your promotion not so. In that instance their should only be one outcome and that is the one that happened. You Worky fans should just accept it and stop whining like a bunch of girls!! I'd have thought you had more pressing worries to get your knickers in a twist over.
  20. Adding assets is clearly more than "smoke and mirrors", as Ipswich signing King as a club asset a few years ago has earned them some much needed cash recently which we're led to believe was badly needed to solve a cash flow problem. Whilst the asset base is clearly an irritation to Mr Snackette, it's clearly alive and kicking as it has been for several years, with loan fees and transfer fees being paid for rider movement. That isn't going to change anytime soon, so it's understandable why Chris Louis is hell bent on building Ipswich' asset base up. Surely far better to have a team of your own assets with no loan fees paid to other clubs, and assets not used, loaned to others to generate more income, than loan seven riders from other clubs and pay out seven loan fees! We've heard all the "it will only take one rider to challenge the ruling in a court of law for the whole asset system to collapse" tripe for more years than I care to remember and it STILL hasn't happened. They clearly have a rule and an understanding between promotions and riders alike, that they all accept and are happy to continue abiding by.
