  1. Has Kennett got a bit of a mental block about heat 15? I remember Shads mentioning after the Ipswich fixture that Kennett has an awful record in heat 15. Looked to have been flying up until then! Strange.
  2. Well the Speedway Star has us (Ipswich) down as title winners. This evening will be a good test to see whether that prediction looks shrewd or foolish.
  3. Ritchie Hawkins has declared himself fit and rides for the Witches.
  4. And maybe Edinburgh aren't either seeing as Glasgow held their own in the two recent meetings. There isn't a stand out team this year, there are a fair few that all look evenly matched. Bodes well for a close entertaining season.
  5. Heeps will do fine he'll be amongst the points no danger, it's Manzares who we'll need a better showground performance from. How is Lawson around the showground?
  6. Ipswich Town playing almost straight after didn't help either. Very expensive day to do both so in the majority of cases where people had to choose, the Football would have won the day in all probability. Considering that, I thought the crowd was impressive! I was certainly expecting a lot less.
  7. RIP Tich Read. I know there is a seperate thread on this forum mentioning his passing, but I thought I'd put this on the Ipswich thread. I don't want to have a pop at the "official" Ipswich website, just incase I've missed it. But I can't find a single mention of this former Witches favourite's passing? IF it isn't on there somewhere, then poor show.
  8. Makes you wonder why they couldn't have arranged this meeting for the Easter Monday in the first place with no EL fixtures taking place. Much better looking line ups.
  9. Garrity is a nutter! Could do with more like him in the sport in all honesty. Up to heat 10 and been far better than last Good Friday. Track tricky especially early on but been some good racing.
  10. Gotta be honest I haven't a clue what forecasts you lot are watching! Every one I've seen for a few days, and still have seen today, are really poor.
  11. Don't think it really matters anyway looking at the forecast for Friday. Time for the forecast to change of course but it certainly doesn't look promising. Can't say I'm overly bothered in all honesty as its turned in to a farce.
  12. What a complete bloody farce! and people wonder why the crowds are whittling away
  13. It's strange you say that because I went on there only yesterday and looked at Foxhall! The reason I did that was because I was tuned in to the Rye House twitter updates and on the heading they have an aerial view of the Rye track. That inspired me to have a look at a few others, Foxhall included and both Foxhall and Rye are surprisingly similar in shape, although Foxhall definitely has wider straights.
  14. Well yes that does complicate things slightly..
  15. Could do a lot worse than book Ricky Wells for Foxhall leg on Good Friday. Superb around Ipswich and we know he's available that day as he's guesting for Ipswich in the return leg at the showground.
  16. Postponed? Do me a favour!! I've been attending for more years than I care to remember and we've had FAR more rain than that and still got meetings on. First the track prep has turned to absolute s*** the last couple of seasons and now postponements after some morning rain?
  17. Commendable from Len, would Jon Cook be so gracious if the shoe were on the other foot?
  18. From a Witches perspective looks like some positive signs and some not so. Stefan it seems still prone to falls, and Manzares has picked up where he left off last year. Poor from Tungate too. Major plus point is obviously Cameron Heeps. take a bow son. And a point away from home so not a bad start at all.
  19. Probably because there was one or two being judge and jury on here as to who qualifies and who doesn't qualify and who should be getting visas and who shouldn't. Najjer has also gone very quiet on this forum since the visa issues have been settled, and his claims that all existing 2/3 year visas were ripped up, and once clubs got their sponsor licences back the riders would all have to re-apply. That has proven not to be the case as riders who were riding on long term visas are free to resume riding on those same visas. He wasn't the only one to get that wrong though TBF, but it's shown that some had far too much to say on the whole visa issue who really had little idea on the subject.
  20. Is the new team manager seriously coming in for a bit of stick on here before Ipswich have even ridden a single meeting? Deary me. Best of luck Phil!!
  21. Thanks for posting those brings back some wonderful memories! I can remember a debate on here a few years back with one or two wanting to hear the return of a walk in the black forest, but others countering by saying we can't dwell on the past and we have to try and move forward and modernise things which I agree with. But it wouldn't hurt to hear AWITBF now and again and next week would be an ideal time with it being the Billy memorial. If there's going to be 70's and 80's memorabilia on show why not play a few tunes from Billy's era too? For the 40 and upwards supporters who grew up watching Billy Sanders, I'm sure a bit of reminiscing and a blast of walk in the black forest just before the 7.30 parade would be nice.
  22. So as it goes, Manzares was different to the riders you mentioned, as he qualified and they didn't. No "Miracle" needed by "Mr Louis" either.
