  1. Mmmmmmmmmmm - interesting fact. Look who is at number Twenty Two. It seems Jerzy Szczakiel was a more popular and more respected Rider than some on here give him credit. EDIT: I do accept, however, that the year the Survey was taken is also relevant. Obviously current Riders at that time would be more in the minds eye than those like say Vic Duggan who were part of the Sport's History even then.
  2. If I had to rank my best American Riders that I had seen I would go for (in order): i) Hancock ii) Penhall iii) Autrey For BW's benefit Ermolenko would be fourth. It's all about opinion though - and that is mine.
  3. Very good that RD - I see what you did there.
  4. Ty Proctor signs for Workington according to the SpeedwayGB Website.
  5. British Speedway Website reporting that Ty Proctor has signed for Workington.
  6. A good way of putting it Humphrey.
  7. So what? He is still a British World Champion. That FACT cannot be altered.
  8. I agree again sidney. I don't know what has happened to iris123 these days.
  9. You beat me to it Dave. I was going to mention those two facts also. For me Jerzy Szczakiel was a very good but very inconsistant Rider. He deserved to win in 1973. On the night - Mauger couldn't beat him - he probably would have nine times out of ten but the fact is - he didn't. Jerzy ended up with two World Titles and I do not begrudge him either of them. I think much of the criticism of him is rather unfair. Well done Jerzy is all I can say. Scott Autrey was my favourite Anerican Rider too sidney.
  10. Very pleased to see this. Some of the regular critics of Brough Park will now have to eat their words. :approve:
  11. My Post was made in jest. (as in Pantomime). I did not know of his problems. If I offended him I wholeheartedly apologise. I do hope CardinalSin recovers and is back on here soon.
  12. You really don't like being wrong - do you?
  13. "OH NO HE ISN'T"!!!! "He's behind you"!!!
  14. Sad News for Gary and his Family. We can only wish him wel for the future.
  15. How can they speak ill of the dead in the Case of 'Jack the Ripper'? They can't even prove conclusively who he is. I don't know if you would like to amend your Post?
  16. Good - you were well brought up. Not sure what that has to do with the Penhall Book quotes though.
  17. Do you really want me to answer that? If he is a bona fide Speedway Rider - no problem.
  18. I'm sorry - I was brought up not to speak ill of the dead.
