  1. I think there is a certain amount of truth in that.
  2. That is my exact point about unfairness. Doesn't happen very often - but crucially - it can and does happen.
  3. What Premier League Promoter with any sense at all would want to take his Club up in to the Elite League? Too expensive to run, not enough Teams, not enough variety of Competition - they would be mad to even think about it.
  4. BOTH BBC Programmes - the BBC don't do Speedway.
  5. Even more unfair if the Winning Team loses because of it. I ha boycotted the Sport as you put it for over two years now. I always hated Double Points, but I carried on for years getting upset and did nothing about it. I finally decided to make a stand on something I believe in. So - why is it strange?
  6. No I'm not!! Their should be NO Tactical Rides and NO Tactical Substitutes. Teams should stand or fall on the number of points they score on the Track. There should be no other amendments to Rules to fiddle closer Results. NOW THAT WOULD BE FAIR!! I have NEVER argued for that. (See my above Post).
  7. There are lots of things wrong with Speedway at present. The Play Offs I don't like but I can live with them. I still think they are very wrong and very unfair to the Team that actually wins the League. Double Points I hate and detest - more unfairness. I get upset and angry every time the Black and White Helmet emerges from the Pits. Question: Why should I pay good money to get myself upset watching what I consider Officially sanctioned cheating? I can't help it - that is the way I see it. I don't like/agree with cheating - one of my principles - ergo I won't attend. You may not agree with me - but - I hope you can understand where I am coming from Spin King.
  8. Surely that depends on our Final Rider doesn't it? If it is say Kus - we will have a decent Team no question about that. I am fairly optimistic for the new Season.
  9. Actually mike7164 - I don't think you will be too far away with that prediction. Personally I would probably swap Sheffield and Workington around and settle for that my friend. :)
  10. My principles - my choice. PLKOC Meetings - no I don't attend them either. I am not changing my arrangements for one or two Meetings - I would be prepared/happy to do so if I started going full time again..
  11. I may have miscalculated but it appears there are only five places left to fill in the Premier League. It will be very interesting to see who those Riders will be that will fill in the gaps.
  12. The nearest Elite League Track to Sunderland Gemini, is Belle Vue. I would continue to follow Newcastle 'Diamonds' in the Premier League (a mere 12 miles from my house) were the 'Double Points' to be dropped. Until then - I will stay away.
  13. I hope you are right about Newastle finishing above Glasgow. I reckon if we do that we will win the League. (Perhaps not the Play offs. ).
  14. A VERY fine Post Dave the Mic. I totally agree with you on just about everything you have written. One point of interest to me is that when you are talking about top Riders. I find it incredible how many British Riders in the Seventies, who would probably be classed/considered as great, and yet how few there are today. A sad reflection on the state of our Sport these days.
  15. Sir Sydney Ruffdiamond may be able to help you there. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sir+sidney+ruff+diamond&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjEhdOt3-jJAhUK0hoKHeSZDSUQsAQIJw&biw=1440&bih=725
  16. I wish I could but Belle Vue is a hell of a long way from Sunderland for a National League Meeting. So to answer your question both honestly and succinctly - no, I won't.
  17. Oh - definitely regionally defensive.
