  1. I can't help but feel sorry for Cardiff, especially all of those good folk who have already booked up accomodation, transport etc. Bit of a kick in the teeth really. As a Belle Vue fan, I am, of course, very pleased a Grand Prix has been given to Belle Vue, but Cardiff has really done very well for Speedway over the years. We should be very grateful to them. A very sad decision for me.
  2. Jack Millen and Tony Childs had what I would call an aggressive style, coupled with a "thou shalt not pass" attitude. Aye, indeed, those were the days!!!
  3. I do hope somewhere can be found for Wolverhampton Speedway. I say this through gritted teeth as Wolves were partly responsible for the closing of my track, Sunderland 'Saints' back in 1964. I do, however, wish them the best of luck in this day and age. Speedway needs clubs like Coventry, Swindon and Wolverhampton.
  4. I would just like to, once again, wish 'Bees' fans lots of luck in the future. You deserve your great efforts to succeed.
  5. Hey, I'm an 'oldie' and I am into Speedway, Cricket and Football. 😳 You can't stereotype groups of people like you have done. 😉 By the way - I detest Golf. Boring as hell and it spoils a good walk. 🙄
  6. I would be very sad to see no Mulford. I really rate him for the future.
  7. These are amazing. Thank you so much for doing this for me, I really do appreciate it. As regards the book, I already have it. The Tee-Shirts, however....................................................😉
  8. I tell you what I did forget. 1964 Sunderland 'Saints' Racejacket - all red with a white running stick type man with halo above his head in the centre (running to the left) An example :- http://www.newcastlespeedwayhistory.co.uk/Sunderland.htm Vic Ridgeon the rider 2nd from the right in the Team photograph shows it very well. My thanks again to John Skinner. I don't know how I forgot to mention that - they introduced me to Speedway all those years ago.
  9. Sorry, I realised that about a day after I posted. Put it down to age. 🙄
  10. Why can't we all just wait and see, and allow the Club to announce their Team when ready to do so..... I sincerely hope whoever wrote it is right though.
  11. Sorry but why are some of these very interesting Threads being closed?

  17. Nope - don't change anything - they are jolly good. (Just as I remember them). Thank you for this, brought back some great memories. 👍
  18. I have looked at my records of those days and can only find black and white photographs. I can do no better than recommend the following Link: http://www.defunctspeedway.co.uk/Sunderland.htm If you scroll down you will find the 1974 Team near the bottom. Picture of the racejacket with the shield with the 'G' on it is the original 1974 racejacket*. (you can see on the Badge further up) If I remember correctly, the 'STARS' racejacket with the black 'G' on it was the final one. i) *Racejacket, Red Background with White Shield containing the letter 'G'. i)**Racejacket, Red Background with White Star containing Red Star with Black 'G' in the centre. I'm sorry but this is the best I can do. I hope it is of assistance to you. The excellent Website I recommend is hosted by John Skinner who has done a wonderful job for Speedway in general and North East Speedway in particular.
  19. Yes, they did. I am struggling with my memory to recall the details of our final body colour. I will check my records and Post a description as best as I can.
