Play Offs Should They Be Scrapped.?
The White Knight replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes - because people of our age are the only ones who seem interested in keeping the Sport alive. The Senior Citizens keep getting lambasted on here for being backward looking - but at least they go. All this modernization of Speedway in this Country hasn't exactly brought new young people to the Sport in their droves - I wonder why? Perhaps the way forward is indeed 'Back to the Future'. Let's face it - things couldn't get much worse. -
More of the same then. I was prepared to give him a chance this Season hoping that the Captaincy and added responsibility would help him improve. Doesn't seem to have been much improvement - if any. Certainly suspect away from home. Replacement required - I think.

Please don't let certain Posters, who should have more sense, get you down chucks. Continue Posting - you are entitled to your view as much as anyone else. Actually - I haven't seen any apologies to you yet. I'm disappointed about that........................... Very true - but the Promoters want them. It doesn't really matter what the Supporters think though does it? After all, it is the Supporters who are the Customers - why worry about them when they will come anyway - or will they? You usually do - why change the habit of a lifetime? -
Get well soon Zenon.

More should have been done when Speedway was a really popular Sport. Sadly things have been allowed to get so run down - the Sport of Speedway could well be History in this Country in a few years. I take no pleasure whatsoever in saying this. To a point, I don't even blame the Promoters today. Most of them were probably not around the last time Speedway in the UK was successful. The mistakes were made many years ago. The thing is that hindsight is wonderful thing - but - who is to say that we, had we been Promoters then, would not have done exactly the same?

Premier League Fours?

Could Redcar not hold it on a Saturday Night? Surely they would get a bigger attendance. Any reason why not? Genuine question. -
I remember seeing Reg at Sunderland when he was riding for Eastbourne back in the day. R.I.P. + Reg.

Newcastle Announcement 27 September
The White Knight replied to Terrace Grumbler's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not that close to residences actually. That is one of the plus points. It won't happen though, up to about four years ago I don't think the Stadium were that interested. Minds (and personnel) may have changed though. I don't think that the good folk of Newcastle and Redcar have anything to worry about despite Sunderland being the biggest conurbation in the North East.
