  1. As do you, criticising anyone who doesn't agree with you. There should be NO Tactical Rides or Tactical Substitutes. If that were to be the case there would be no arguments either. Guess what - Meeting would be decided on Points scored with no fiddles. How revolutionary is that?
  2. Could it be that SKY are getting fed up with Speedway? They've already abandoned the GPs - how much longer before they ditch League Racing as well? Genuine questions.
  3. See below. You two keep banging on about my stance on this. (A stance which I am entitled to take - by the way). I have already stated on here many times that I hate the Tactical Ride. I also hated the Tactical Substitute Rule too. I lived with it - that is all. I cannot live with the stupid Tactical Ride. I want to see Speedway with NO outside fiddles to contrive a Result and indeed on occasion cost other Teams Matches. They are both conning, fiddling and cheating (both the Results and the Public). How people can't see this is a mystery to me. Speedway Teams should WIN or LOSE by the Points scored on the Track - anything else is utter bollox. I have explained all of this times without number - so please read and digest.
  4. They do me. (Tactical Ride) I know I am not alone. I must admit I only know one other Person who has stopped for the same reason as me. That at least proves that your statement that: "the rules don't really keep people away from Speedway" is simply not true. What I am saying is that if there are two of us in my sphere of knowledge - logic dictates that there will be others around the Country.
  5. Great to see these 'old timers' gustix. Great Post - Thank you.
  6. Good job they are really - isn't it? I didn't know Philip was French poor man. You are not the only one to comment on this Tigerowl. Someone said to me only last week that he held the same opinion as yourself regarding certain Riders who rode for his Team. It wasn't Sheffield by the way.
  7. Be interesting to see what the Team will be for our next Meeting. Anyone heard how Simon is getting on?
  8. Another System which is of questionable benefit to Speedway as a whole. The Jury is still out on that one as far as I am concerned. Not anywhere near the amount there are today.
  9. Never liked him. This one is not for me.
  10. I just knew someone would come back with that question - I thought it would be one of two people - I was right. You didn't let me down BW. I was exaggerating, using sarcasm if you will. It doesn't alter the fact that there are far more Substitute Riders drafted in these days than ever there were in the Seventies.
  11. ONE!!! In a decade. It's just about every other bloody week these days.
  12. Bring back Rider Control. :D
  13. Speedway these days seems very Mickey Mouse for all the reasons stated in previous Posts, not just mine, if it does not do something radical soon the Sport, as we know it, will be finished. I know that I don't go any more but I still love Speedway itself - but those who administrate the Sport seem as if they are prepared to allow it to drift in to oblivion.... Another point - attacking Tony Mac for pointing out, to me, the bleeding obvious is way out of line. Why am I not surprised though. "The Truth, you can't handle the Truth". Colonel Nathan R. Jessep. (Fictional Character). From the Film - A Few Good Men.
  14. That irritates me Tony - but it is the Double Points Tactical Ride that really does my head in.
  15. Actually - I think your suggestions regarding the Speedway World Cup and the GPs is are excellent - the reason I 'Liked' your Post. In the interim years between World Cups perhaps an World Best Pairs Championship could be organised. Every four years a World Cup and every four years a World Best Pairs with a two year interval between both. That would also increase the speciality factor. As regards the GPs - that will never change as long as BSI and to a lesser extent SKY have their grubby little fingers in our Sport.
  16. Well said Tony. "There are none so blind as those who will not see". John Heywood circa: 1546.
  17. Surely if you fill the new Supporters up with, as you say, BS then when they find out the truth of how our Sport works - they will probably leave anyway. You need credibility - there is precious little of that in Speedway nowadays. Here we go again.
  18. Superb News. I sincerely hope that this is a sucessful venture.
