  1. We too had a real character at Sunderland - Jack Millen. Fondly remembered still by Sunderland Speedway Supporters. He will never be forgotten by those of us who survive those days.
  2. Lot's of Characters in the Seventies too BOBBATH. As regards the 'Sixties' - Ivor Brown was quite a character as I recall.
  3. People know how I feel about Lindgren, but, what a superb performance from him against, in my opinion, a better all round Team than ours. It was a wonderful display which begs the question - why oh why can't he produce that sort of form on a far more regular basis? If he did he would get no criticism from me. As for the Meeting itself, I enjoyed it. An exciting Meeting with a reasonably fair result. Ipswich do look a good Team though. Nice to meet up with Halifaxtiger and have a natter. Missed Tsunami though. There's always two weeks time, hopefully.
  4. Typical bloody ignorant graffiti merchants - they can't spell either.
  5. if you are appalled by my question Steve - then I am very surprised. I have lost count of the number of Premier League Riders alleged to have stated that they keep their best Bikes in Poland. They say that for a reason. There is more money to be made in Poland. I merely asked a question, I have no "hidden Agenda", my feelings about Lindgren are well known. I think he should be scoring better than he is away from Home. The only thing I will agree with is that he is not a Number One, we don't have one.
  6. As someone else noted - SNAFU!!! Good Post. Regarding Lindgren's Equipment - where are his best Bikes - Newcastle or Sweden?
  7. He is under performing though RD. Perhaps a rest from the Captaincy might help. We already have an ideal replacement for that job in 'Robbo'. I think he should have been given it in the first place. What if Lindgren goes to Reserve - not an impossible scenario the way things are going for him this Season?
  8. Both Publications are well worth the money. I always look forward to mine arriving with great anticipation. I have never been let down.
  9. But he is our Captain and Number One. Just turned out to be more sh!te than the rest. Hence, I assume the comments. Hope things change for him soon, or we are in for a long hard Season.
  10. Really??? I can still remember Ivan Mauger. He didn't do too bad around Brough. As someone else stated - David Bargh too.
  11. Well I'm content that I can return to Speedway at Newcastle to be honest. It was looking dodgy for a time. I think the Promotion have done the best they could under very difficult circumstances. Hopefully, even with Lindgren at Number One, we might surprise a few people. I, for one, hope so. I wish the Promotion and the Riders all the very best for the coming Season. Roll on a week on Sunday.
  12. Really sad to hear this News. Another Rider who I used to admire has left us. Rest in Peace + Alan.
  13. Personally, I am going to watch him ride not sing. Don't really care about his singing tbh.
  14. Hopefully that will, perhaps, ease a few minds a little. I am sure things will be sorted out in time. I am concerned but optimistic.
  15. If Danny Phillips has gone to Scunthorpe as has been pointed out on here, that leaves us as the only Team in our League with Riders short. I fervently hope that something can be sorted out soon.
  16. Any News on the 'Bears'? No Posts on here since 27/01/18.
  17. Is this Fat Maud???......................................................
  18. Best of luck Carl. Looking forward to watching you in the new Season. Hope the bloody snow stops by then.
  19. I believe George has very probably been working under severe constraints in Team Building for the new Season. It doesn't matter what Plans you have, if you can't afford them they are useless. George is bringing Speedway back to Brough Park for this Season and I am very grateful to him for that. I am also prepared to wait and see what he comes up with to complete the Team. Remember we could - conceivably - have had no Speedway at all in the coming Season. You need to cut George, and the rest of the Promotion a little slack here.
  20. I just wonder whether you have ever been to Redcar SP? The Track certainly isn't narrow, and I have seen some fantastic races there. I, for one, am very pleased that Redcar are staging the 4's. I am sure that they would not have been awarded them had assurances not been given regarding the size of the Crowd and viewing ability of said Crowd. Personally, I wish Redcar and the Promotion all the luck in the world with this endeavour. It is a feather in their cap to bring such a prominent Event to the North East.
