I have to say that I was very impressed with Charlie too last night. She was not frightened to disagree with some of the Political Heavyweights and put her Case very well. Obviously a highly principled Lady as she has said that she will resign her position at Sheffield United if Ched Evans signs for her Club. As I said - very impressive.

You could be right. When you add all of these things together though it certainly doesn't help the Sport when it comes to attracting new people. :sad:

How about a couple of Supporters who have stopped going. That would be more effective. Ooops - I'd forgotten - they couldn't give a hoot as to why people have stopped going. They are just NOT interested. :sad:

You really do, on occasions, show some very selfish traits Humphrey. Count me among those who Tony mentioned in his first paragraph. I would not thank you for an 'On Line version'. I like my Magazine I collect them. If that makes me old fashioned - then so be it. I would have no problem if Tony were to do an 'On Line' version of his Magazines - but I would much prefer, as I said, the Paper Copy even if I had to pay a bit more for it. I do hope you wouldn't deny me that Humphrey.

There is a world of difference in being tolerant and being bored rigid. I have no problem with a Rider taking a few seconds to get himself sorted out and ready - what I do have a problem with is those who go on and on and on for ages. I don't pay to watch Gardening - damn it - I don't even like Gardening. :angry:

I prefer Team Racing myself. The problem is that those that hold power within the Sport have done their best to ruin it. They seem intent on fiddling and destroying the credibility of our once wonderful Sport. Folk, by and large, are not daft - they know when they are being conned. Contriving to keep Meetings tight is wrong. Sport, if that is what we are talking about, is about Competition, what it is not about is doing this , that and the other in order to conjure up a truly false and dishonest Result. One question - IF these Rules regarding Double Points and Play Offs are so great - then why are Crowds, in general - decreasing and not increasing? I would suggest lack of Credibility in the Sport of Speedway is the answer, or at least part of it.

Would it ever get approved the Dean? - It would be brilliant if it did. Can our Sport be watered down any further in this Country?

Edited for accuracy. No - but it IS the GPs that have robbed British Speedway of most of it's top Riders. British Speedway was/is in a mess undoubtedly - but the GP Series certainly has NOT helped that situation. To argue that the GP Series has not had a detrimental effect on British Speedway is just plain wrong.

To answer your question directly - as I have said - if I am getting upset then I switch it off. I have not fallen out with Speedway at all, I still love it. I will not though continue to subscribe to something that goes so against my principles of 'Fair Play'. I have enjoyed discussing this with you B.V72. Nothing wrong at all with people of differing opinions putting their point of view.

Sadly you are wrong B.V72. I will not go on paying for something that goes so totally against my principles of 'Fair Play'. I have paid for years to watch my Sport with two basic Rules that fail all credibility tests in Sport. That is my opinion which you may not like. As regards to continue to go to 'support' the Sport' I can see your argument but I don't agree with it. If I went to a Shop and was served with faulty Goods consistently, would I continue to Shop there - would you - I doubt it. I have railed on against 'Double Points' and the 'Play Offs' for years - I have spoken to people within the Sport, Promoters, Team Managers and even Riders. No action has been taken by the 'powers that be'. Ergo - the ONLY action left to me is to walk away. This I have done - and - until things change I will not return. Regarding you crack about watching GPs on the Television and coming on here. Funnily enough this is a FORUM - people come on here to air their views. You have your point of view - I have mine. Last I heard we were BOTH entitled to them whether we attend Speedway or not. I would have thought though, that those Posting on here who have stopped attending, by airing their views on this Forum would perhaps influence Promoters as to why people are leaving so that they can do something about it. Speedway is in real trouble if it ignores it's Supporters - so far I have seen absolutely NO evidence of them listening.

Only ONE thing in your whole, very well reasoned and excellent Post which I could find to disagree with. Under your heading 'Track Prep' you intimate that Clubs producing consistent poor Tracks should be demoted. I take this to mean relegated, in the case of the Elite League, to the Premier League and in the case of the Premier League to the National League. The only problem with that is that the Elite League is too small already and if you relegate one Club it will be even smaller. It would also give problems to the Premier/National League as to how to accommodate the miscreants within their Fixture Lists. Not sure how SKY would feel about this either. Other than that - an absolutely superb Post - I would hope that some Promoters will read and inwardly digest it.

TOP Points scorer for the 'Diamonds' this year. Why wouldn't he want him back? He's worth a couple of Points in the Pits as well. Excellent Captain too.
