  1. It is striving for higher speeds that will be the end of Speedway. The Bikes now are too fast for the Tracks that they are expected to Race on, hence all of the serious injuries these days. There was nothing wrong with the Racing fifty years ago - slower yes, but infinitely safer and just as good if not better, certainly as a spectacle. I know that my views are not popular - but since the advent of the 'Lay Down' Engine the Bikes seem to be far harder to actually control than in the days of the Upright Engines. I would have thought that control would be very important for the safety of the Rider and those he is Racing? There will always be crashes and accidents in a Sport like Speedway - but - should we not be trying to keep these accidents to an absolute minimum? The Racing is the skill - not the speed. Just my opinion - but - I do think I am right. Titanium Parts for Engines. For heavens sake they use Titanium in the Engines of the 'Eurofighter' Jet Aircraft (Typhoon). Says it all really.
  2. If you need gimmicks to contrive close Results why don't you watch WWE. Contriving Results is cheating the Public. No wonder Speedway has NO credibility and the Crowds are drifting away. Who wants to watch a Sport where the 'Powers that be' in the Speedway World actually make Rules that technically 'fiddle' the Results. THAT and the 'Play Offs' are the only reasons that I have stopped going to Speedway - perhaps those people in power might consider that, and, that a lot of others may have stopped going for the same reasons. More interesting - Rubbish!!! Speedway is supposed to be a Sport
  3. If someone is making a consistent nuisance of themselves - then why are they not Banned for good? Genuine question. It seem a bit of a nonsense to me.
  4. Absolutely no point in a Six Months Ban - if it includes the Winter. A Six Months Ban from the start of next Season would be appropriate.
  5. Quite right - they do. They may not be though...................................................................
  6. For all you Mockers on here. I truly hope Belle Vue will succeed - it is really nice to see someone in Speedway with a bit of ambition and forward thinking. This in a Sport which is hardly known for it. I wish nothing but Good Luck to Belle Vue 'ACES' (my Team for over FIFTY years). Perhaps the new Track may bring some of the Glory back to Manchester. I CERTAINLY HOPE SO!!!
  7. I have my fingers crossed for you 'Brummie' Supporters. Best wishes too.
  8. Sad that your contact with the Sport has ended, as has mine. You must visit the new Stadium when it is built - I know I will. :approve:
  9. Thank you for your reply Dean. I appreciate it. I have my own issues with the Speedway Press too. Perhaps a little investigative journalism and honest criticism would not be amiss.
  10. So do I. If he went then I reckon that Smolinski should have been excluded too. Now THAT would have been a talking point, wouldn't it?
  11. No we are all perfectly normal - I think. Mackems by the way.
  12. I know. However if the Scots do Vote 'YES' they will, apart from the 'arrangements' be an Independent Country from Friday. Officially you are correct in what you say - March 2016 is the target date - but - the Scots will regard themselves as being Independent from whenever the Referendum Result is announced. I'm still hoping for a 'NO' Vote - this is too close for comfort.
  13. WRONG!! I've been supporting Speedway for FIFTY years- and I believe that the Referee was correct on the Nicki Pedersen incident. (My opinion - to which I am entitled). As I said - Greg Hancock a true Gentleman. Thank you for that arnieg. I normally enjoy your Posts Dean Machine they are usually very interesting and informative - but - in this case I don't think there is any need for the personal abuse. For what it is worth, I have NEVER seen Mr. Rising give out abuse like that. He is entitled to his view - your views differ - fair enough. Your discussion could surely be carried on without the name calling. Actually - as I saw it Nicki hit Batchelor's leg pushing in towards his machine - Batchelor did definitely not stick his leg out, he moved it up to try to avoid Nicki. That is why I think the Referee was correct in his decision.
  14. What happens if Edinburgh win the Final - and - Scotland Vot 'YES' on Thursday? The 'Play Off' Championship will be held by a foreign country? Only asking....
