  1. Strangely - I can vaguely remember that cover. I am almost sure I purchased that particular Annual for my son way back when.
  2. Mauger would have to be my number one choice, purely on his professionalism, Racing record and Wordl Championships. Fundin would, on records alone be second on the list - I never saw him ride. Briggo, my personal favourite, would be third (I would like to have put him first), but you cannot overlook the achievements of those above him. Rickardsson would be fourth - again on his World Championship record. Olsen last. Never my favourite Rider, in fact he was one of the ones I liked least. I can't deny he was a very fine Rider though certainly, to my mind, not in the very top class of Riders like the ones above him. Honourable mention for Erik Gundersen who I personally rated higher than Olsen.
  3. Well done Dandelion - you nailed it. Ashley Morris the first Rider. Looking forward to seeing who is next.................?
  4. What venture is that? Absolutely delighted that the 'Diamonds' are running next Season. I have brushed off my Hat already.
  5. I totally agree with that ff. I think Scott Nichols would be a great asset to the Championship.
  6. I must say that I can't see the logic here. If Chris Harris can ride Championship Speedway - why not Scott Nichols?
  7. Armando Castagna for me. Is Nico Covetti Italian?
  8. Me neither. I thought the 'March' music was great when the Track Staff walked out, followed by the Riders. Of course, those were the days when Speedway was run professionally.
  9. I am only trying to look on the bright side. I have decided, now that Double Points is no more thank goodness, to return to Speedway again - I am hoping it will be at Newcastle - it is my local Track. I don't want to be defeatist, and I have faith in George, as I am sure he will be working as hard as he can to ensure Newcastle's future. We are not privy to what is going on in the background, and lack of information is, I agree, niggling. However, negotiations may be at a critical point with Sponsors and George can't announce anything until things are finalised. I am not saying that is so - but it is possible. That is the way I am trying to look at it. IF and until closure is announced, I will still believe that I will be going to Brough next year.
  10. Knock Three Times on the ceiling if you want me.................................................. Happy days.
  11. How about offering him the job they offered John Berry all those years ago. As independent Boss of the BSPA? I think he would be very good at that. Not sure if he would want the job though..............................
  12. Ah right. I get a cuddle too - I hope I get one when I return for the Practice.
