Great Post. The only problem I can see with your thinking is that you don't appear to have allowed for VAT. Now that takes the actual money from Tickets down by 20%. I reckon that if Prices were set at about £13 your numbers MIGHT stand a chance. (I am NOT an Accountant).

I'm genuinely sorry for the Lad. I hope that he can learn to cope with his illness and that he can return to Speedway in a better state of mind.

Why can't the Premier League have special Money Raising Meetings like they did in the Elite League?

(Spanner47) This seems like a pretty good answer to your question to me Spanner. You prefer to watch them "on the Box". Perhaps that is at least one of the reasons support is dropping. Once you stop going it is very easy to find something else to do. As you say - "unless we find out, we can't begin to address the problem". You are right about that - I would respectfully suggest that if YOU prefer watch your Speedway "on the Box" so do lots of other people. The answer, of course, would be NO League Speedway on Television and, hopefully, that would stop the Sport haemorrhaging Supporters and possibly encourage more, like yourself, to return to the various Tracks....

Well - there's your answer. You've answered your own question. No research needed in your case. :neutral: I watch it on the Television AND attend every week. If my Team is on SKY - I record it and watch the Meeting again when I get home.

It seems that just about ANY Query can be answered on the BSF. Great bit if research gustix. Thank you for that. Angel Arche must have been a pretty good Rider. Tiger Stephenson and Arthur Atkinson were no slouches at Speedway.

Perhaps they might make Grant Money available on Health and Safety grounds? Personally I would doubt it - a lot of the time they use Health and Safety Regulations when it is PAIN in the bum - not for anything REALLY dangerous.

Ii we 'elder citizens' didn't go - the young ones that do go now would have no Speedway to Support at all. Cutting Concessions will not make the Sport more popular - it WILL though reduce people coming through the Gates - with no new young ones coming along to replace them. Financial suicide for some Tracks. Not ALL Pensioners are living in the lap of luxury you know.

You are quite right, I haven't been to Leicester Speedway but reading what you and others say on here leads me to conclude that it isn't worth going. THAT is the effect you are having. You should take up your differences with your Promoter and NOT continually slag him and your Track off on a Public Forum. I will NOT attend Leicester Speedway not because of the Track - but because of what YOU have told me on here. YOU HAVE PUT ME OFF!!! Well done - even LESS money for Leicester Speedway. A GREAT Supporter you are. :rolleyes: Oh!! and by the way - I attend Newcastle Speedway EVERY week except when I am on Holiday (couple of weeks a Season) and I thoroughly enjoy it and get royally entertained.

In view of some of the problems at Leicester - do Supporters really think that 'having a go' is helping? If I were DH reading this Thread - perhaps I would dig my heels in even more.
