WOW!! How is that for gratitude to the two main Riders (look at the number of Points scored) who won us the League this year. I, personally, don't give a hoot about the so called 'Play Offs' - and I know a lot more who feel the same. Robson, for me is a must for next Season. The Worralls if possible, but I have my doubts as to their availability. Christian Henry, Claes Nedermark and Ludwig Lindgren and I am impressed with Paul Starke - if we need a '3 Pointer' he would be my choice.

TRAGIC!!! -
You really MUST learn to read Posts properly. I clearly stated that I was totally against the Double Points System whether it be for the HOME Team OR the AWAY Team (I notice you never copied that bit - I wonder why). It has nothing to do with where we came or come in the League - the System is just plain - WRONG!!!. By the way, as you accuse me of bias, perhaps I had better clarify my position - if Newcastle had got a Double Points Ride at Somerset that would have been wrong too. Just so you know.....................

I must say Congratulations to Somerset on progressing in the Cup - Good Luck to them. ........................now for the League 'Play Off' Meeting. Once again I have to complain about Speedway and it's lack of credibility. First of all - we have to win the League for a second timein the 'Play Offs' - bloody stupid. Secondly the fact that we lost a vital Point last night because of the ridiculous Double Points System. Had Somerset not had the Tactical Ride - the 'Diamonds' would have won by the seven Points required to take the full Three Points. HOW MUCH LONGER IS THIS BLOODY STUPID SYSTEM going to be allowed to continue? I really do HATE this System and it is turning me off Speedway. It doesn't matter whether it is the Home Team or the Away Team that benefit - I HATE it. It is unfair, gives a false impression and could now have cost us the Premier League Title after it's second running (Play Offs).. I have spoken about this to a lot of Supporters, from both Home and Away Teams, and apart from the odd person, the vast majority are against this Rule. To me it is about time that Speedway got itself in to the real World where most people believe in fair play and a level playing field. By Somerset having a Double Points Ride (when Newcastle never had the chance of a Tactical Ride). they ''won' the necessary points to clinche a precious League Point.. How pathetic is that? Regarding the 'Play Offs' I have only one thing to mention. A couple of years ago Poole were TWENTY SIX Points ahead in the Elite League. Come the 'Play Offs' they have a couple of 'off nights' and are beaten by Coventry who are declared League Champions - what a JOKE. I sometimes wonder who is running Speedway - the BSPA - or - SKY Television.

Mr. Lancaster perhaps. Sorry Parsloes - I couldn't resist it. -
Thank you very much Robbie B. :)

Good Luck with this Norbold. :approve: I don't suppose I'll be able to pick up the Station here in Sunderland - but - I wish you every success. :)

A shame Jason is retiring from the GP's. I wonder if a return to British Speedway could be on the cards?

I believe Phil is in to Speedway Art - I don't know if he makes a living from it though. Bruce Penhall also writes for BackTrack.

.........................are you Captain Black?? -
...................and certainly not above that other antipodean one B. Briggs of NZ.

Not sure about the years - BUT - Graeme Smith (NZ) has to be there somewhere. :)
-
Not sure - but it does mean he will have earned his Bread and Butter.

That's what I like about Newcastle - they have stuck, to a large extent to giving Paul Starke Steve Worrall's Reserve position. I think it is great that the 'Diamonds' are persevering with a young BRITISH Rider and not signing up suspect foreigners who are no better than our British National League Lads. He is doing very well too.

One of the highlights of the Meeting for me was in Heat 15. Cory Gathercole (I think it was) did a superb 'lay down' when Lemmo fell in front of him. I don't like to see falls, but when they happen it is great to see someone do the right thing and put the Bike down. He earned a commendation from the Referee - GREATLY deserved. :approve:
