I must say that I was quite impressed with young Paul Starke last night. I think this Rider has great potential.

This doesn't happen a lot. BUT - I totally agree with you backless. I was saddened that the Presentation wasn't shown. It would have been had it been Cricket, Football, Rugby or Golf. Obviously SKY don't consider there are enough Viewers to worry about keeping us Speedway Supporters happy. :sad: It's great that SKY show the Event - but - it is always nice to see the Prizes awarded at the end. Here's hoping for the next time.

Shame this - two weeks with no Speedway - how will I cope? :sad: Thank you for Posting the fact that the Meeting is 'Off' early folks.

I'm still very concerned about the Weather. By the look of the Weather Map on BBC - it looks like it could be the same as last week. :unsure:

Not offended by your comments in any way Old Saint. I just profoundly disagree with them. Our Military are very necessary in this day and age when Terrorism across the World is rife. If the Security risk is deemed by those who decide these things to require an Army/Navy/Air Force presence, then I personally would be glad to see them. I would also feel a lot safer because of them. I do not believe that this sort of thing will lead to the militarization of our Streets - it is just taking sensible precautions - that is all. Imagine if there HAD been an incident and there were no Troops present - the General Public would be demanding to know why they were not being protected - justifiably so in my opinion. The more protection the better as far as I am concerned. You are though, entitled to your opinion.

Yes Diamonds7 - I noticed that. I will be keeping everything crossed for Monday Night. It really has been a dreadful year this from the Weather point of view. Newcastle haven't suffered too badly in the early part of the Season. Let's just hope that the Meeting will be 'on' and that we can get some Speedway on Monday. I am missing my 'fix'. :sad:

Cracking read as usual. I was (perhaps unsurprisingly) very interested in the Q & A with Colin McKee, a Member of the Sunderland 'Saints' 1964 Team.. :approve:

I travelled to Brough from Sunderland more in hope than expectation of some Speedway. Despite the very hard work of the Track Staff the Meeting was called off. I totally agree with the decision - it is not worth seeing someone seriously hurt to run a Speedway Meeting in the Weather/Track conditions that were appertaining today. It could have been called off earlier - but it was obvious that both of the Promotions wanted to get the Meeting run. I only hope the Groupon Ticket Holders (me) will return for the re-staging.
