  1. When Lady Luck is on your side…… Poole yet again facing a team beset by injury.
  2. Hope Wrighty isn’t badly injured. Bewdley in for Wrighty as a long term injury replacement signing? ( in the best interests of Belle Vue - sorry I meant the sport)
  3. Orion - gardening at the starts is now out of control. From NDL juniors to SGP sooperstars they get off their bikes digging ruts , then filling them in, then completely missing the start. Complete waste of time. 2 completely one sided p off semi finals - the last one at Sheffield typified the modern style gate and go speedway on big tracks. Racing at Belle Vue Hyde Road was good …. The new incarnation sees the action over by lap one and the 4 riders getting further and further apart. They might go faster than they used to … but entertainment is poor. Too many delays, time wasting and not a lot of action.
  4. From my limited viewing of speedway in the past few weeks - nothing I have seen will tempt me back to trackside to watch riders endlessly gardening at every start ….lack of any “racing” just very fast “riding”. One sided meeting pa with the result never in doubt despite the constant “bigging it up” by the TV commentators. FTG features in all but a few heats. Not for me anymore.
  5. Moderator - this thread needs moving please to clear space for those clubs actually racing (or planning to race in the Premiership)
  6. Lions to the slaughter then in 2023. With so many riders doubling up , will be interesting to see who owns who and whether other Prem clubs will be left short handed with Leicester moving aside to the Premiership. As for race nights - Leicester as well running on the Thursday reserve rain off date for Poland should ensure a good number of R/R being needed throughout the season. Will they extend the season the end of November in 2023 ?
  7. Come on folks stop banging on about all these spurious reasons for Swindon speedway closing. Would you rather sell your land to a housing developer for millions of pounds or invest money building a speedway stadium which even when the team won the league made a loss ? If the GI gang and their many hangers on ( I include Messrs. Russell and Rossiter) are guilty of anything it is perpetuating the myth that once the stadium was slated for housing development on that site that speedway racing would ever take place again.
  8. Slender compared to a 30 point thrashing. Aahhh … KOC points don’t count towards CMA. Middleditch will have to get his slide rule out again.
  9. With such a slender away win, Poole haven’t left much wiggle room for the 2 Cook boys to have a ‘mare of a meeting to get their CMA down for 2023.
  10. Sad to see online that I have read the last edition of the Classic Speedway Magazine. I have enjoyed reading every edition of the magazine - from its beginnings as Vintage Speedway Magazine. Great shame that no one could be found to take over the magazine.
  11. Which of the Poole riders double up for Bournemouth ? Or is Middleditch a closet football hooligan ?
  12. Well the P.Offs (P/Ship and C/ship) so far have certainly captured my imagination. Both edge of the seat stuff. In fact I have nearly fell off my seat in the lounge at every meeting only to be woken up by me wife. Certainly the most important BSPA conference in the history of the sport will be looking to build on the great success of this season. It has been truly breathtaking and all supporters must be tyred out watching the action, anlas you are a Peterborough supporter.
  13. I see that Poole have no fixture at home tonight - 5th October !! Tempting fate at the a**e end of the season with weather very changeable to not attempt to run a meeting on every available date. British Speedway at its finest - all the trophies usually end up presented covered in muck. Hottest summer on record since records began and still riding the top meetings in early winter on wet tracks.
  14. What’s the ticket prices nowadays at Belle Vue, and the car parking charge please?
  15. Predictable result. Hope that there were enough in attendance to pay Lambert's wages :-)
  16. NSS1 your post is on the correct thread ……the joke thread. :-)Think you have missed out on Bewdley as he has signed terms with Poole as a full asset. Bitter ? Long lost any feeling for the sport that used to entertain me. Don’t spend tuppence now on going to see todays rubbish, and even watching the free to air highlights on Quest only serves to remind me what a Mickey Mouse sport we now have. It’s all a joke and subject to ridicule by all my old friends who once went to meetings home and away. Bathe in your glorious win tonight ….. the points limit for 2023 will sort you out a new team .
  17. Let’s not clutch at straws here, Belle Vue have well and truly smashed the transfer window rule to smithereens. Lambert is riding contrary to the regulations. Ipswich should ride under protest, and not be afraid to explain why in front of the TV cameras.
  18. More comedy with Lambert being signed by BV as a “ long term injury replacement” for Fricke. Lmao “long term “ will be tonight and assuming BV win on aggregate ( personally I hope that they are stuffed and Lambert suffers 4 engine failures) plus a couple more meetings . Next season he’ll be in Poland Sweden and maybe SGP. Did Lemmon learn his tactics from the boys at Poole??
  19. Tell that to the Glasgow Tigers website - still not announced there ! At least Poole website is up to date.
  20. Twitter now saying tonight’s meeting at Glasgow postponed due to rain, being restated Sunday 2nd October. ? No other source has confirmed this ? Bet Glasgow wish they had carried on in the original restaging with a good crowd in and the possibility of a small win on the night. ?
  21. Inevitable news. How ANYONE ever thought that speedway racing would return to Blunsdon with a new housing estate over the safety fence, or near enough to splatter their washing with shale must have been dreaming i Really makes Oxford look like a remarkable achievement considering the pressure on land usage, and the lack of support from the powers that be in assisting them with a choice of race night ! I assume that this thread will now be moved to the "Defunct Tracks" folder
  22. Think we have a classic two legged tie where neither team can ride each others "muckheap" (to quote Phil the Ace). Big Track / Little Track.
  23. Got to say that with the p. off opposition being from the wettest place on the planet might be sometime before this tie will be settled. Maybe a roof on the “national speedway stadium” would have been a good investment?
  24. Agree With you Joseq7. It is totally wrong. Could be simply fixed by taking the aggregate scores after the same number of heats in the return leg.? In cricket in a rain affected match each side is allotted the same number of overs to get the runs
