Who Was The Most Frustrating Rider?
mikebaker replied to Ommer Mon's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Daz Sumner. Subline white liner, like a raw junior on the outside Was fantastic to watch at Ellfield Park. Truly comical at the County Ground. Malcolm Corradine was another total enigma we had the pleasure of at Cleveand Park in 1979. Any long standing Tigers fans remember his exploits at the Harbour Club in Weymouth that year. -

Biggest Disapointment....
mikebaker replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The state of the sport. The Consortium at Redcar. -
You obviously have not looked at Redcar's website. Imo the worst in British Speedway.
-
Or Ostergaard on 6.52.

Pleased with getting Skiddy back. Crang is a good choice as wll benefit with his appearances with Coventry in NL. Never been a big fan of Graversen. Lets hope that Wilco invests on his machinery, and less of the falls. Personaly would of prefered others, rather than Jan and Carl. Probably the usual cost cutting that this consortium runs by.

Saw Brady win the Julie Lewis Memorial Trophy at Redcar last year. Said then the kid looks somehing special. Well done to Debbie Hancock and the rest of the Somerset Promotion for securing him.

6.82.

No place for him at Plymouth in 2014. Is this the last we have seen of him in the UK. Remember seeing Cory at the Isle Of Wight in 2008. Thought then would be an Elite Leauge rider in a couple of years. Any one know if Cory has had any offers for next season.

Richard Lawson confirmed as new number 1 for 2014.

Ipswich 2014
mikebaker replied to cowboy cookie returns?'s topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The average was reduced to 5.00 in 2010; Kenny Ingalls and Ricky Wells both came in on 5.00. -
No place for Rasmus Jensen then. Would love to see him at Redcar. Had the pleasure of seeing him make his debut for the Devils last year. Lovely relaxed style. May be down to logistics, but a far better option than Lemo.

Matej Kus on 6.19. May fancy another stint at Shielfield. Did a couple of meetings back in 2007 before that bizzare accident at Ashfield. Thankfully the enigma will not be back at the STMP in 2014. Yippee!

Rider Of The Year Votes...
mikebaker replied to RedcarRacer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Probably down to likeability factor. Last years won by Wilko. What did he achieve last year, Half a dozen decent meetings at the end of the season, A win in a Havelock cost cutting exercise "Silver Helmet Meeting". -
Firstly the current consortium to bow out. A new Promotion with some drive and enthusiasim. If the points limit remains at 42.50 and double upper's remain, here is my first punt. Adam Scornicki 10.50/Cameron Woodward 10.41 Cameron Heeps 6.04 Ulrich Ostergaard 6.52 Hugh Skidmore 5.65 Aaron Summers 7.14 Brady Kurtz 3.00 Robert Lambert 3.00 Total 41.85/41.76.

Is It Time For Redcar To Dispense Of Matej Kus.
mikebaker replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The thread is going off kilter here, it was aimed at Kus's failings. However totally agree about Wilkinson. When Gary got injured we had over 8.00 points to play with. The Promotion went for the cheap option. Bring in Wilko on a 6.40 average, who was surplus to requirements at Scunny. I mentioned about bringing in a Dane and 3 names I brought up were Michelsen, Mikkel Bech and Rasmus Jensen. Tungate should have been a done deal after his performances in those 3 meetings at the end of 2011. Wilko like Ostergaard has crap machinery, and falls off to much. Has he done a job at Redcar, no. Taylor Poole would of been a better option this year or Matty Tres who is an asset. -

mikebaker replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Witholding his services, so r/r is allowed. If the joke of a promotion were to keep there fans informed, would not have to speculate. So no worms to worry about. We aint gonna progress any further anyway. -
