  1. Coming down for this one, not been there since the 70's, its a do or die meeting for the Tigers but if they ride like they did last night against Edinburgh , it will be a cracking meeting. The signing of Craig Cook has been a wonder stroke, he has brought a feel good factor to our season and has led from the front, it is also good to see him smiling again and enjoying his racing.
  2. Tigers were on it , Craig leading from the front and another 15 point maximum , there are not enough superlatives to describe him. He is inspirarional both on and off the track, had fab back up from Bomber , Sarge, and the rest , apart from poor Jack who had mechanical gremlins. When Cookie came out on Jordy Stewarts bike , i feared for his maximum but he flew round the outside and into the lead. For the Monarchs Josh Pickering and guest Broc Nicol impressed as did Tigers guest Jordy Stewart. It was a happy journey home, wouldnt mind the same again at Ipswich on Thursday.
  3. Jordan did well with the Aussie under 21 team event at Glasgow, he seems to have improved a bit since he came with Redcar
  4. Thought the tiggers were going to lose this at one point, witches were sharp out the gate, young Drew Kemp is such a talent, and should go far, Cant see us beating Edinburgh next week unless our guys find something extra, Cookie apart, we struggled to get any momentum, thought we would have lost heat 14 but fair play to Starke and Thomas, they pulled it out of the bag, surprised that Cookie didnt go as a tac sub in heat 9 when we were 7 down
  5. Well that was a good result for the Tigers, diamonds had a 2 man team, Lindgren doesnt go well at Ashfield generally but his effort tonight was abysmal. Cookie was in a class of his own and good to see young Jack Thomas in the points. Shame that it is probably too late for the Tigers this season.
  6. He squeezed round the tapes to go back to the pits and got excluded for going on the infield
  7. Witches look strong , we are strong on paper but paper doesnt win meetings , bringing Craig Cook into the fold seems to have galvanised the Tigers so it might be a close one , hope Nathan is fully fit, we have yet to really see what he can bring to the team. Looking at the weather forecast it looks like that the rain may spoil it for getting the meeting on, and fridays forecast isnt any better.
  8. Really enjoyed that meeting , not the result I wanted but hospitality certainly helped ease the pain. The Aussies were sharper at the gate. Tai Woffinden sublime at times and it will be some time before anyone takes the track record from him, heat 15 with Cookie picking off holder and taking the win just about took the roof off. Hopefully we can get some more of these meetings , our boys need to race the best to improve, let's hope it is the start of something for team GB
  9. Well done Bandits, we were outgated, only Bomber turned up for Glasgow and to some extent Vissing after his hefty fall, we will not make play offs , hopefully Bandits can qualify ahead of the monarchs
  10. Fantastic meeting, great racing in most heats , thought the Tigers were going to lose at one point, imagine needing a tactical at home, but it worked for us, Bomber unlucky not to get a maximum when he went to wide on bend 4, Sarge rode a stormer in heat 14, impressed with Gappmaier, Ashfield suits him. Berwick were unlucky not to get a point, hope tomorrow night is as entertaining, loving the Cookie/ Bomber pairing.
  11. Nice words from a monarch , Thanks. I was envious of the monarchs fans when Cookie was in their team, he is a passionate rider and is a delight to watch in full flow, I think his presence in the Tigers will give the team a boost, it will also take some pressure off bomber, whether we can make the play offs remain to be seen but if we can have meetings as exciting as this one , I for one will be a happy fan
  12. Was envious of the monarch fans when Cookie was in their team, he is amazing to watch in full flight, he also shows great passion for whatever team he rides for. , I hope Cookie's presence will rejuvenate bomber and give the team a much needed lift, whether we make the play offs remain to be seen , we may have left it too late, I sure will enjoy watching Cookie in full flow for the rest of the season.
  13. Getting tired of the money bags and trying to buy the league comments, where was all the support when we were rock bottom for years. Riders are contacting Glasgow for a place not the other way round, it makes a change from struggling to get anyone to come to Glasgow, a lot of jealous people out there. Speedway is dying a death and something needs to be done to stem the total collapse . The Faccennas have put money into more than just Glasgow speedway as has Grant Henderson too. Cookie contacted Glasgow looking for more rides to help his season improve, we would be daft not to look into changes after Lewis Kerr season ending injury, it is unfortunate that Richie os the fall guy. Lets get behind our team and support them. That goes for other teams too, support your team or lose it. Gosh I have supported the Tigers home and away when possible , even when we were absolute rubbish and hitting 30 away from home was something to celebrate. Let us enjoy what we have now , while we still have it.
  14. Didnt see that coming, knew we had to replace the injured Lewis , but didnt expect to lose Richie, Richie has struggled somewhat this season but so have a few others. I know that Cookie has also struggled this season but hopefully he can get his confidence back riding for Glasgow
  15. Hardly think that Ben Morley is nl standard with a 5.50 average
  16. Really bad call from the TM to use a tac sub when he did, and he should have used Sarge more as he was the only one doing anything. He defo doesnt know Dixie's tactics and forward planning, it has went down hill since Stewart left. Well done to the Sheffield Tigers, I wonder which members of our team will show up at Workington on Saturday ? Glad I am in Marmaris enjoying the sunshine
  17. The Tiggers could get a hammering or they could do well, difficult one to call, although I expect a Panthers win but would love a Tiggers win
  18. Agreed, James and Jack are always going to struggle against 5 point reserves and they are totally dejected when they dont score points. If your were going to replace James, it would have to be with someone that has a similar average and what would be the point in that, we know that he can do better, he is a confidence rider and getting pulled back even when he makes a perfect start doesnt give the lad a chance to build his confidence. He beats himself up enough when he doesnt score, without seeing all the negative posts on facebook and forums.
  19. Well done to the Comets, they fully deserved to qualify as top of the borders group, no complaints from this Glasgow fan, shame on some Edinburgh fans delighting in the fact that their team lost and Glasgow losing out in qualifying, rather than giving credit to the Comets, as they have done the hard work by winning on track.
  20. I agree that the fiasco of overwatering the 3rd bend and no information given was unacceptable. We were watching the riders standing about at first bend and then a couple of them went over to 3rd bend to inspect the track and no announcement was made for 20 minutes. And why so much water was put down when in fact it was raining at the time is just plain madness. Other than that it was a good meeting with some good racing. Shame that there were not more people to see it, no wonder there are rumours of riders not getting paid, I can't see how Laura can pay them if that is the normal crowd level and that was with about 100 Glasgow fans. I fear for the future of Workington speedway, Laura has put everything into saving it but she needs more to people to come through the door or some big support from sponsorship. We know how that feels at Glasgow, yes we are getting slagged as the millionaires but before the Faccennas took over we were concerned every season if we would be running the next. I sincerely hope the Comets can survive.
  21. Part of the problem with losing Stewart was that he was track curator and he was told that someone else was to do it, the guy brought in didnt have a clue and dug up the track , which is now probably what is causing the holes to develop
  22. Should be a Tiggers win , hope some Monarch fans come through to support their team and make for a good atmosphere
  23. Good meeting , a bit rough on Bomber, he felt that he was taken out, should have been all 4 back and Mark Riss was a bit naughty with Claus Vissing. Some cracking racing , Erik Riss is becoming a very accomplished rider and his brother Mark is stepping up to the heat leader role, just needs a bit of consistency. For the Tiggers , Richie was immense , especially when the pressure was on. Nice to see young Jack get a point after his first 2 rides as he looked as though he was really struggling with the technical track. Didn't think we would have got a 5-1 in heat 14 , so well done Paul and James for stopping the momentum for the monarchs.
  24. Ben Barker is box office when he is in full flow, shame that he is inconsistent. That was what we were hoping for when we signed him in 2016.
