Peterborough V Newcastle - Tuesday 29th April

Well done the Peterborough promotion, I hope you get a bumper crowd, unfortunately work and distance prevent me from attending otherwise I would certainly have been there rather than watching it on TV. -
Newcastle Diamonds Vs Scunthorpe Scorpions 20/04/14

Once again, the old chestnut about 'rough park' the track last night, and for the last couple of seasons, weather permitting, has been smooth and consistent. The problem appears to be the long straights with tight bends which require a particular style to scrub off the speed to enter bends 1 and 3. Some riders achieve this better than others, if not done correctly, a lock up is likely, or if you go in too hot you end up heading for the fence. I was there last night, and the ref. decided to return to letting rolling starts from the 60's go. The bike parking wasn't the only bit of dangerous riding by Jorgenson, don't know what he'd had for tea, raw meat? Auty was also riding very hard, you could see other riders backing off as he changed lines. The bike was pushed off the track, not carried, so the jammed chain must have miraculously freed itself. -
Redcar V Newcastle (lc) Thursday 10th April

Although Rosen is struggling, we must remember that he blew his no.1 engine on Sunday, also he is now into his first full season in this league so a learning curve is to be expected. Results at the moment are disappointing, however, a knee jerk reaction will serve no purpose, let's just see how things settle down over the next few weeks. -
Bandits Back To Berrington?
erniew replied to bigeddiechek's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Left wing, right wing, sounds like a party political broadcast! Were you a paranoid schitzophrenic, thought there was someone out to get both of you? ;-) -
The track last night was tricky to ride, the team had worked on the track from 0730 to drain off the water, damp conditions for the last few days following the downpour on Thursday didn't allow the track to dry naturally. there was a half hour delay to the start to allow more time to prepare it. A number of falls added delays and this made for a long meeting. The Diamonds adapted better to the conditions than the Bears although both sets of riders should be congratulated for racing hard. Too many of the visitors don't ride Brough very well and this was reflected in the score.

Newcastle Diamonds V Workington Comets.sunday 23rd March

Sun shining 3 miles from track, all looking good. -
It was Schrammy, it would have looked even funnier if he had worn one of those velcro suits and stuck to it. See you all at the race night tonight.

Ian, multiply kg by 2.23 and you will get it in pounds, spare a thought for us who have to work in imperial and metric at work.

I was reliably informed that the existing fence is being moved back far enough to allow the airfence to be installed and the width of the track will not be reduced.

Tast, there is a Travellodge just North of the Tyne tunnel at the junction of the A19 and the A1058 Coast Road. It used to be a Menzies Hotel and is quite good. 2 minutes to a great chinese buffet on the Coast road and about 3 miles from track. Hope this helps.

Happy with that team, as long as we can avoid serious injuries I think we can do well.

No Kerr, he's signed for Workington. At least we will find out tomorrow.

Estate bottled rum, or a vintage port for me please.

Well said TTR, We all are passionate about our team, we may have wildly differing views and ways of expressing ourselves, however, as SPEEDWAY fans, and therefore fans of what is still by and large a family orientated sport, we should be able to agree to disagree without resorting to personal insults. I enjoy a bit of banter as much as the next person (got to be P.C. these days). So lets just discuss all that is good in speedway and, of course what can be done to improve the sport we support.

Anyone know the teams? -
Heard today, Micky Dyer has quit speedway for good, he can't make a living at it.

Could be one for the record books this one, lot of Geordies cheering on the Bears! Hope it's a good meeting and the weather doesn't spoil it. -
I wonder if those practice laps by Jason last night were with a view to trying to get a place for next season?

What I have noticed about Cookie (and I was Joking about the engine for the simpler souls amongst us) is that his saddle is a lot further forward than many riders, how that changes the balance and drive he achieves I'm not sure, but it seems to work very well, especially with the drive he gets out of the bends.
