The Two Day Motor Cycle News Festival of Motorcycling is being held that weekend with the Transatlantic Trophy Flat Track Races between Great Britain and the USA listed as one of the main attractions. I would imagine the chances of getting the track re prepared and the Showground cleared before the mass influx of Speedway Fans so the match can start at a "reasonable hour" are pretty remote.

The "return leg" of this meeting is shown on both club's fixture lists as Sunday May 15th and includes the British 125cc Final. This appears to clash with the MCN Festival of Motorcycling also being held that weekend with the "Transatlantic Trophy Short Track Races" being held on both days. Surely they can't both be on at the same time.

When I arrived the car park was nearly full and one of the Stewards, probably due to my grey hair and beard, politely asked if I was disabled. When I replied that I wasn't I was directed to one of the few remaining spaces whereas I think if I had answered yes I would have been allowed into the area inside the actual stadium itself. Possibly this is how the confusion arose.
