Referee Needs To Go To Specsavers
KrisB replied to sirmattyisbac's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I guess so. In the programme, it lists Bellamy behind John Postlethwaite as "Consultant - Speedway" and at the top Rob Armstrong as "Senior Vice President IMG Motorsports" -
The country hates CHEATS more and the well-informed majority of the crowd understood that Nicki knew exactly what he was doing in both heats !

What The Papers Say.....so Far
KrisB replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Seating along the back straight is indeed cheaper, and you'll notice Sky makes full use of those packed areas to give the appearance that the stadium is very full. Been the same every year. -

Presentation definitely better this year, and loved the innovation. Great fun with different tracks for different winners or circumstances. You get my vote ! -

Think Kasprzak should get the nod over Hampel... -
The most important race of the entire GP year and Millard completely screws up by saying "Pedersen (Nicki) is stuck at the back" as the riders enter the first bend, yes you've guessed it, with Nicki a mile ahead of the field. MILLARD MUST GO

Awesome performance this year from Nicki. Congratulations!

Could well be Leigh's last year according to Leigh himself live from the Slov GP.

On The Day Ticket Sales
KrisB replied to sirmattyisbac's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
So buy £32 seat and walk around to the home straight. -
Gutted to have missed it this year but was jumping around in my lounge. The Final was easily the best GP moment since Loramski clinched the title in 2000. How were the riders brought onto the track for the parade? No sight of that in the TV coverage and each year something different...?

Cardiff Attendance
KrisB replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Interesting comment about the track as I guess riders will be critical as it broke-up badly towards the end. However the best GPs at Cardiff have always been those with an unpredicatable track, so from a spectators viewpoint, Ole got it right ! -

My vote is for Loram !

In the middle of a major thunderstorm with monsoon-like quantity of rain in Poole, just 70-miles south of Reading. Hate to say it but if rain like this hits Smallmead, can't see the track recovering!

Swc Final Sat 22 July 2006
KrisB replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Track was awful tonight, spoiled the meeting.. Also there's no point criticising Middlo - the riders have to deliver and they all had some dodgy moments - things they can only put rigt individually. Also agree Chris Louis ought to be given a chance as Stead was poor tonight. -
World Cup Meeting 2 @ Malilla 18/07/06
KrisB replied to crazysue's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The TV coverage was NOT provided by Sky so don't blame them! Agree about the pointless replays, and thought the Polish TV coverage on Sunday was excellent. Over to Sky for the Reading coverage - hope they use a decent director! -
Simmo at his book signing - my hero! Juniors on V early! Poor George Piper - 2 EFs in 2 appearances at Cardiff - best change your mechanic! Biggest attendance yet? Packed along the back straight. Was looking forward to 10 minutes of flag waving and horn blowing leading up to the start immediately after Bonnie Tyler but the organisers screwed-up - one such song then 5 minutes of 'speedway rap', then "Delilah" (bit bizarre!) Atmosphere not as good as last year. "All 4 back" when Richardson took out Lindback and Zagar - ha ha! Pepe falling-off during a practice start - ha ha! All the hype around Nicholls and Richardson - neither were going to do it, they couldn't in past years when they were riding well, neither riding well this season! Simon Stead - barged out of the way by each oponent in heat 6. Hard riding but if he'd fallen, the oponent would have gone! Still a good learning experience for him and looked better in his last 2 heats! Hancock down in final - correct decision! Tony Rickardsson - goodbye Crump - worthy winner and 2006 Champ! Finally the best-kept secret car park in Knox Road, always quiet and easy to access, became an official event car park this year so nearly didn't get in, and I bet the queues to leave were horrendous - luckily a brisk pace along Queen Street meant we got back before the rush!

Taking The Good Luck With Both Hands!
KrisB replied to Trees's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It certainly made the racing more interesting! The early heats were boring! -
The 'entertainment' is a complete joke. You telling me Bonnie Tyler is going to bring more through the gate? Not way, indeed I have always entered the stadium as the gates open but the thought of sitting through 30 minutes of that is making me reconsider! I've put up with Suzie Quatro, Edwin Starr, Tony Hadley, Abba Tribute (missed 2003) and few are interested so the airhorns start-up (though Javine was tasty during the interval in 2004)
