Nobody is doubting him, or his ability, We are questioning him because we care, we feel he is part of Kings Lynn, we want him to do well. We don't feel the same way about Kai because, he is not a born and bred Kings Lynn star. Probably if he stays long enough we might feel different in the future.... But I agree about his inconsistency . Nobody is knocking him, merely passing an opinion on this obviously talented youngster......
-
We are not questioning him, we are merely passing an opinion. But what has pressure from Polish league have to do with his form in our league. and everybody, in every walk of life has to be on top of their Job. I feel you are being too kind and can see no wrong. He has so much talent , but I question his desire and motivation.....
-
Its all down to opinions, and I take what you say on board. But I've seen Robert ride some unbelievable races, I've seen him pull the most amazing passes you could imagine. This boy has talent coming out of his ears. But that's the problem. It difficult for some of us to witness these feats of magic and then watching him riding about creating no pressure to pass the man in front. As if that will do.. With the experience of 4 yrs in the top league, . You cant tell me there are 15 riders in the league with more latent than him, but the league says there is. He should be much higher in the league of averages than he is. I believe he is happy at the slow progress he is making, But I don't think he aims high enough. I think is the best young talent this country has produced for many a year, and It annoys me to see other young riders making bigger strides than Robert. I just want him to be that superstar today, rather than wait till tomorrow..... Some say, 'Tomorrow never comes....'

I believe you make a tremendous PR officer, You obviously love the club and have their best interest at heart, But if you were in that position, would you be told everything ??

The season at last, has finished. Its so disappointing our season has ended this early. We started out back in March, with huge potential, with high PO and KO Cup intentions, but finished up as Wooden spoon contenders. In the end we couldn't buy a win. Cant believe something that felt so good should have finished so poor. Probably, only the likes of Batch and Holder will gain any satisfaction from the way things turned out, but for the true followers of the Sport, this year has been a massive turn-off. Its all too easy to point fingers, but the fact remains, the Club made some bad decisions. The way the fans are kept in the dark, and taken for a ride, amounts to contempt of the highest order. Yes, we have to move on, but not before we have learnt from these bad times, ensuring they never happen again... As for the riders we used, some were good, some were poor, and those who I would welcome back. Holder; Batchelor: Quality riders not always at their best. Both thought more of themselves than the Fans or the Club, Pleased they've gone. Robert Lambert: Disappointed he hasn't progressed as quick as I thought he would. He has more ability than most, His scores are not as consistent as they ought to be. Obviously talented and has a grand future, but needs to put more importance into his riding, Too many excuses, and too many last places for someone who is supposed to be a future World Champion. Probably next year he'll step up, (Keep) THJ: Massive disappointment. A mere shadow of the rider he once was. For him to stay he has to have a massive upturn in form. (Go) MPT: Been around a long time, Development has been slow. But I feel next year could be his best. (Keep) Huckenbeck: Started off brilliantly but faded as the season wore on. To me he didn't do enough as often as he ought. Unless total commitment (Go) Jorgensen : Star of our season. a tremendous acquisition. (Keep) Rose: Good early season form, Too injuries prone. (Go) Porsing: Potentially good, but oh dear, always a problem, always an excuse. Had too many chances (Go) Simon Lambert: Way past his best. Now not good enough . (Go) Auty: Needs to belong somewhere. Too good to let go (Keep) Bailey: Way out of his depth... (Go) Promotions need to do a lot better...
-
I thought the the special announcement, (Thomas Jorgensen) was in fact a foregone conclusion. He has been the brightest points of a dismal year. Letting him slip through our fingers would have been a travesty. In my mind a better, the bigger announcement was that the intention to run fixed race nights in the league , next year and that Polish will be forced to drop the 3 club rule.... That will make a massive input to proceedings.... When thinking about next year, (with the exception of Jorgensen), I can't get enthusiastic about many of our riders, Too many of them continue to blow Hot and Cold. We are in desperate need for a leader, someone we know will always be scoring big points. Neils left a massive hole and in my mind, that has to be the clubs first priority. Its all very well having exciting races, and keeping the fans entertained, but when the meetings reach the crunch time, we are always left wanting. How many matches have we lose in the last 3 heats, We need them riders to win those important heats. We haven't had that this year.

Where are you coming from???? I have never posted any comment about Buster, Bspa Chairman, and Belle Vue because I don't know the facts....... So not doubt you ought to be the one reading instead of MOANING ...PAL. As for the posting, it was said as a discussing point, not for the Bull Droppings, that obviously you know, so much, about......

Who has any idea what the annoucement Buster will make tonight. Bearing in mind there has been no BSPA meeting about changes to format and organisation for next year, any announcement has to comply with current standings. So that rules out going to a single league, or dropping down a division. My wish would be that Buster welcomes his son back on board, I feel he is the only person capable of working alongside Buster to make Kings Lynn Speedway work, . But my guess it will be NKI will be back next year........ We sure do need a proper No1.

Rye House V Kings Lynn / Kings Lynn V Rye House

Forgive me for not counting S Lambert, But bearing in mind the points he has scored round the AFA since coming back from injury, it was an easy mistake to make.... -

I see from the Web-site the Stars go into battle against Rye House with only 5 riders again..... At least we know this time before we pay any money out, We can choose to go knowing the situation, not wait till we get inside before they drop the news of missing riders.. -

Sure is a sorry state of affairs. Buster say on his website season ticket holders can have a VIP treat, seems to me, everyone with a rain off ticket deserves a free VIP treat.... -
Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
g13webb replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As a speedway supporter, I thorough enjoyed the meeting. THought Poole battled well to keep it close in the end, but Swindon will go home far happier of the two. In meetings like these, the pressure is what makes the difference. Many mistakes were made, the Riders , the Ref, Team Managers were all guilty at some time , Non more so than the commentators. God, some of the rubbish Tatum spout is unreal, but it all added to the occasion. The track was disappointing. It lost all its appeal, after what started out with some good races, After the first set of heats there was only one racing line and all passing was done by the 2nd bend. All in all a good meeting, fitting of the occasion. Cant help thinking, the hill Poole have to climb, will be a bit too steep... -
Sidney, I have many memories, and still feel exceptionally privileged to have them and for knowing Michael like I did, When he rose to the top of the tree, you would have thought the BSPA would have bent over backward to assist him, helping to give the sport the promotion it dearly needed. But they did everything in their power to obstruct him. They publically crucified him at every opportunity. One, of many instances that spring to mind, was when his Dad Andy had purchased the Elsworth Moto-Park and was running its first meeting. Michael in support had cancelled racing in Europe that Sunday to be there supporting his father. Michael at that time was holder of the Golden Helmut. His next month's competitor was to be Gordon Kennett. When the dates were announced, Michael explained he was not able to ride at Eastbourne on the Sunday because of this prior arrangement with his dad. The BSPA ignored Lee's reasoning and ordered him to ride saying 'as you are not riding at a scheduled meeting, you will race on them dates'. Michael replied he would not race regardless of BSPA threats... In the home leg, on the Saturday, Michael beat Kennett 2-0, Standing beside Michael in the pits, I witnessed Kennett coming up to Michael to congratulate him, and saying 'see you tomorrow'.. Michael then explained he would not be there for reason already given and handed over the Golden Helmut for Kennett to take home and have it on display tomorrow. He would then be declared as the new Holder... True to his word Michael was at Elsworth that day, He actually said to me there, ' I bet my name is rubbished at Eastbourne today'. Needless to say he got a right pillaring in the press about letting the fans down. He was subsequently fined and striped of the title. but the annoying fact was, in this case he was the innocent party, but only a few fans knew that.... It was little wonder he lost all respect for the BSPA....

That day at Coventry, I took a bus load of Lynn fans to the British Final, as you say it was thought to be a mere formality, The 5 yr ban was a joke and the appeal would be overturned. allowing Lee to compete that evening. This was supposed to be an appeal hearing against the original fictitious offence, but nothing is ever straight forward to the BSPA/SCB. Yes, the appeal was upheld and dismissed, but they then concocted a new offence and banned him for a year instead... They were always going to ban him, no matter what's depths they had to dig. Again they had taken the fans for a ride. Total contempt as ever... Why did they use his name in advertising the event when they knew he wouldn't be there....... Of them 26 people on that bus that day, I am the only one who still goes and support the sport. and you wonder why the fans don't come anymore.... Remember Philip Rising saying in the SS, they didn't use a stick to smack him, they used a gun instead....

Hi Sidney, you OK. A simple answer to your question is NO, Robert Lambert and Michael Lee were worlds apart. As good as Lambert is, he is a long way from the class of Lee. It was once said that Lee could put 1000 on the gate whenever he rode. Bettsy again was totally different in that he was the ultimate team man. Some one who rode his bike with such pantase you would have thought he was sitting in an arm chair. Never the worlds best, but he was Mr Consistent and had a big following.. Martin Rogers shipped Bettsy out to Reading, opening the door for Dave Jessup to come in and partner Lee giving the Stars team a strong one two. It was questionable whether it was a good move. I accept they finished 1st and 2nd in the 1980 World Championship, but it didn't work out as it should have done, Jessup, a renown loner, seldom contributed to team spirit, and, more often than not, arrived with only one bike and frequently borrowed from others. It wasn't long before supporter were accusing Rogers off bad decisions letting the skipper go like he did... It has been said when Bettsy left, Lee lost that guiding influence and was easily led on that destructive path. Lee eventually left Lynn for Poole , but still retained his vast following at Lynn. At the first return when his new club, the place was heaving. The crowds had returned in their 1000's to see their prodigal son. The result that night was not important, all the fans had come to see was Michael Lee. Unfortunately, that night, the Ref was the shameful Mr John Eglese, who took an obvious vendetta against Lee to a new level.. He alone was the reason that Michael was banned from that meeting, and subsequently banned for further five years, later reduced to one. I cant speak badly enough of this referee for the damage he did to the sport.. That night he deprived 1000's who had come and paid good money to see Lee ride. Of them, it been estimated as many as half of those Lee fans never went to speedway again. That night, John Eglese ended the speedway career of a great rider, and also killed the interest of a lot of fans....

Yes !!, well done to Chris Holder, it was really good to see some of that old form back. Also nice to see that you have lost non of your sarcastic form in writing that comment. The situation with Chris at Lynn was not in the best interest of anyone or the sport, but am so pleased you find it something to laugh about...

Agree riders come and go, But Lambert is our star performer, a rider who has been born and bred at Saddlebow Road, and somebody who has a connection with the Club and Fans. If I was in control of a Club, getting someone with the potential of Lambert secured for the year, would be my first prioritive .
-
If Buster has any plans to run next year, then his first job has to be to convince Lambert to stay and ride. If he loses Lambert then he may as well shut the gate because the fans that are left, will see this as a sign of the end. I think Buster has put too much responsibility on Lamberts shoulders, whereas, as a youngster, he should be an extra draw to a proper No1. When Buster let Holder go he should have replace with similar. . Instead he took the cheapest options..... The ball now is firmly in Buster's court, His next decision has to be his most important....

Rye House V Kings Lynn / Kings Lynn V Rye House

This decision should have been made last Thursday.... Talk about making problems for yourself.... This situation is ridiculous -
I read some rubbish on this forum but your comment compares with the best of those. Kings Lynn is ideally located to run a good speedway team in the top league. With no nearby competition, it has the catchment area to attract as many fans as any other club. Its not the location that's the problem, not the size of the town, its the quality of the team. If we had a team capable of winning the league and forward thinking promotor, the fans would support the team to the hilt... I can remember when crowd were in the thousands, and that was when the town was actually smaller than it is today........ You talk such rubbish......
-
Please let me commend you for all your excellent work you do running the Supporters' Club. It is in deed a real positive addition to the speedway. I admire the time and effort you put in to promote the work the club does. What a pity Buster doesn't take a leaf out of your book and promote the sport the same way. Better still employ you as a PR role so keeping everyone up to date with ALL the facts.. As for what happened at Wolves the other night, Lynn Stars, without doubt is the weakest team in the Premiership. Come to think about it, we couldn't hold our own in the Champions' League.. Yes, most of the riders do put in the effort but that alone is not enough to justify paying top whack to get in.. What happened at Wolves was unfortunate, but when these kids ride 6 meetings in a week, they become tired. The track is not the easiest to master, so these situations are just waiting to happen. Name me another club who has been force to compete with only 4 riders like Lynn has this year.. That's the 3rd double header we have done this year and each has ended in disaster. Probably the next time Buster cancels a meeting on a whim, he'll remember the consequences of the alternatives.
-
You two have surely been converted, both have had their brains removed and replaced with Buster logic... How you can come on here and make out everything is ok is beyond me. This Buster logic has all but destroyed our Speedway, and you say you cant blame him. Of course we can blame him, he is the one in charge of the Club, he is the one picking the riders, he is the one who cancels meetings, he is the one who agreed to race 5 nights on the trot. All the blame rest with him. You talk about loyalty, but this is a two way thing. I've been loyal to the Stars for 50 odd years, never have I felt so abused by some of the antics Buster pulls. Sometimes I feel like a mushroom the way he keeps us in the dark, and the contempt he shows to the fans when wont comment on obvious issues. He demises everything by saying 'its gone now, we need to move on!' . It wouldn't be bad if we learnt from those mistakes, but it always does happens again....... 'Star Lady' and 'Trees' may think everything in the garden is rosy, but lets be real here. Blowing sunshine up Busters arse is not the answer. We need to make him realise the severe problems that exist at this Club... and he is the common denominator of them all.....
-
We are fast becoming the laughing stock of the speedway world. Every match we play turns into a onesided farce with half a team. Can't ever remember it being this bad. 2018 will surely go down in history, for all the wrong reasons...

Wolves - Swindon Followed By Wolves - Kings Lynn 4.9.17
g13webb replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I have always thought the Wolves team was the strongest and would figure in the finals. Their 1 to 5 is way above that of any other team, But even after watching that one sided affair last night, I don't think its a foregone conclusion . Swindon suffered badly, with poor reserves, and some riders having a mare. But they still only lost by 14 points. The one incident with Doyle on a TC, coming to grieve on the tricky corner could have made a 10 point difference..... The fat lady hasn't sung yet !!
