On the contrary. The biggest single problem British speedway has, is the two leagues running in parallel with each other, both believing they are of equal status. When looking at the amount of D/U's operating in the leagues, it becomes impossible to arrange fixtures without clashes of some riders, hence the massive problem. Either we run one league, or else the top league has to have preference where clashes occur. We cannot continue with riders being pulled between 2 clubs... Being a pro-active person, I try to evaluate problems and try finding solutions. There are ways we can go forward, but time and space here doesn't allow me the opportunity to air my thoughts . But one quick thought we could reduce the number of leagues to 2 instead of 3. We have teams in the 3rd division way too strong for what the league was intended. We have teams in the 2nd division that could complete in the top league, So why not regroup to have 2 divisions one of 15 teams and the other of 14.

Too true my friend,,, My biggest fear is that the BSPA aren't aware of the severity of the problem, and will as usual paper over the cracks... Three years ago, as many as 10 of us would meet up each meeting and have a thoroughly good time, Them numbers started to drop. We got down to 7, then 6. At the start of the year it went back up to 5, then to 3. From that July meeting with Poole I have been the only one left of that group, And since then I have missed a few. When speaking with them other members they got fed-up with the contempt to the fans, the product on show, the attitude of the riders, the whole package......the chances of them coming back rests on the fortunes and attitude of the sport bosses. So please don't think we have no problems....,,

Probably, 5,10 years ago, racing on specific night would have been a good idea, enabling the top riders to commit to an easier schedule. But its too late now. the top riders have all but gone. If we did change to say Monday and Thursdays, it wouldn't attract any of them TOP riders back, but would create plenty of problems for many respective clubs, Any new rule changes has to be of benefit for the fans. We want regular speedway, on a weekly basis; We want equal competitive teams providing close racing; We want teams of committed riders. We want more connection with both Club and Riders. we want the sport to get back to a level it once was.... What we don't want is: Long drawn out meetings; Teams made up of guests and R/R; Riders going missing, when riding for other clubs; Going 3 weeks without a meeting, then 3 meetings in a week; We don't want our season over by August... We don't want any secrets; and we don't want our league to be dictated by other countries... Simples!!!!

What you call moaning, is what I call discussing an opinion. There are two ways to make the promoters know how you, the supporter, feels, 1, is to voice your opinion publically, and the second is to not go to matches any more. Now if Buster don't adhere to the criticism he is receiving, then when we get to No2 its too late.... Recently, after 52 years of going to speedway at Kings Lynn, has seen me, for the first time ever, miss meetings because I couldn't be bothered to go...... Now if somebody as die-hard and long standing as I feels this way, what chance has the sport got of surviving ??? Yes the Stars have had a terrible year, but as an elder supporter I can see the bigger picture. Each club is struggling to make it pay and crowd figures are dropping. We are all fed up with guests and replacements, We go weeks without a meeting then we have 6 in one week.. but nobody cares.... The biggest problem we have within the sport , is that the BSPA don't even want listen to us.....

To be perfectly honest, this season has been the worse of any I can remember. What Jason Doyle would like in reality, is of no importance. I cannot remember a year when I have been less interested than of late. and the main reason for this is that the sport has been ruined with Guests, R/R and DU's. I cant remember the last match I went to where both teams were at full strength. With the exception of a handful of riders, both our leagues are of equal standard, each fighting the other for major importance. We haven't the numbers to run two leagues and the sooner this is sorted the sport will have a chance to improve.. Most of the Championship sides would easily compete with Premiership, which makes the two league idea a complete joke. Swindon has conquered all before them this year, and with the exception of Doyle most riders compete in the other division as well. Decisions have to be made to benefit the sport, so for that reason alone, we have to do away with DU's and run one major league only. One rider - One club.. Split it into North and South sections if necessary but not to run in competition against each other. To me this is more important than running on specific nights... Opinions will say the riders needs more meetings, I say they compete in too many meetings. We have riders at Lynn who are that busy that have problems fitting in Lynn fixtures... and when they do they're so tired they put up sub-standard performances That can't be any good for rider any or the fans ....

Kings Lynn V Poole 31/8/17
g13webb replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hans Anderssen is out of the same mold as Niels, true professionals and want to do their utmost each time they ride. What a pity some of these young upstarts dont take a leaf out of these older professionals books, when doing your best for the team was the most important aspect of league racing... There would always be places in my team for riders like Hans and Niels.... Top professionals... -

And apologise to the all the fans who paid good money to see him ride, instead of doing a runner... Yeah Real funny.... -
In all the times I've supported the Stars, I cant remember a time when moral at this club was so low. But Its not just that, I get the impression that every other team are feed up to the back teeth with the troubles and shenanigans created by this club and, namely our promoter. I feel everyone would be happy if we were to pack-up because of the problems Buster has caused within the sport, and that doesn't generate much enthusiasm with us fans..... I believe us fans, are between the devil and the hard place, in that we can do no more, than we have tried to do.. Buster only does what Buster wants, and we have little choice in the way the business is run. I would hate to see the club close its door on the sport here in Kings Lynn, but to think it wont happen is just burying you head in the sand. The club is in dire need of new blood, to Promote the club, , To Manage the club , To Govern the whole existence. Its so obvious Buster cant do it on his own. He needs help... Either he don't want the help or that others don't want to help, there seem to be a massive problem... At Kings Lynn, the venue has so much going for it, but the biggest problem appears to be Buster persona.... This Club was built up to be respected and appreciated by all, Them days are long gone... These past few weeks, we have descended into a club in total turmoil ....... Surely that cant be allow to continue....

Rye House V King's Lynn - Tuesday 29th August.
g13webb replied to tocha's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Obviously you are one, who speaks without being aware of the facts; Sweden and Britain race to different rules. In UK Porsing is not allowed to ride within 9 day period of getting concussion, whereas in Sweden they have no such rule. Who is right and who is wrong is debatable. But I would have thought all these safety rules should be the same for every country and governed by FIM.... -
The way things have gone of late, this could be the last time you see live speedway at Lynn .. EVER....

I wouldn't worry too much about Porsing, his involvement is not that important. We're in dire straits and need someone like Clark Kent.... -

Hope Buster took along a White Flag...... This is embarrassing..... -
I find all this quite laughable. Throughout the season, we have had 2 period of 3 weeks without a meeting, we have cancelled meetings on a whim, Christ, we even cancelled one meeting on the strength of a weather forecast, and they're never right... Now we plan to have 4 matches in 3 days. You couldn't make this up!!! We will have riders getting hurt, All riders will get tired, we will have bikes breaking down, We'll have riders pulling out of meetings. In fact we will have everything that is bad for speedway. But at least it will give the forum posters plenty to moan about.....
-
I had hoped Lynn would play an important part in the play-off, But the only part they will play is who will get that 4th place. Both RH and Poole have both to play Lynn H&A and these results will have a massive bearing of who gets that last place. My gut feeling says it will be RH who seem to be more of a units than Poole and will be harder to beat. It wouldn't surprise me if they both beat Lynn twice in both matches. If RH do get through, then Swindon will pick BV, leaving Wolves to battle against RH. Swindon wont relish going to RH We could have a few surprises left this season YET!!

Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.
g13webb replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We never had this scenario years ago, we took a man's word for any discrepancy, Riders turned up and rode, if their bikes broke down they used the track spare, or borrowed his mates. When you talk about setting presidents, getting Doctor certificates , going before a commettee. what impression does that give... No wonder our sport is all but dead. It has no trust, no belief or integrity, and everyone wants to argue every point..... -
Rye House Vs Poole 28/8/17 7.30pm.
g13webb replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Rye House has never been one of my favorite places having witness some terrible meetings there in the past. But that was years ago. Watching that match last night I was amazed at the transformation that has happened and turned the place into a good venue to watch speedway. The track, although still too narrow in places, was very racable and provided an excellent platform for exciting races. I had always regarded this as a 'Gate and go Track' but not anymore. Its also pleasing to see nice guys like Nichol and Bomber enjoying the racing. These guys are British Gems, who on their day they can beat the very best, but will always give their all, You never hear them complain. If only we could get rid of the 'prima-donors' . this sport would be more appealing if all riders were more like these two, -
Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.
g13webb replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yet another example of a thread started purely to assassinate a riders behaviour. Lasse Bjerre is usually very reliable, and him not riding must have been a real let down. But judging from all the information on here, both his bikes were not rideable, he had injuries that didn't help. I say give the chap a bit of slack, he's not that bad person who normally lets people down' if it could be helped.... The amount of meetings held this weekend,, it was inevitable some riders would have problems with crashes and machinery. If there is any fault here, it should be directed to the fixture planners- 88 replies

Yes you are bias!! ..... Congratulations to Robert for winning the European title, But I have mixed feelings. I can understand his thoughts of 'What's the point', why should I bother to ride in a match of no hope or importance. But on the other when your ship is sinking you need all hands on deck, including Roberts !!!! I agree this double fixture against the same team, was an accident waiting t happen, and that blame was down to one person...

How is it today, we have a Bank Holiday Monday, yet we haven't got a match on. Surely when these 'Fixture arranger' puts these plans into place, this is the most ideal day to hold meetings, Its a wonderful opportunity to even fit a home and away in on the same day. Strange, most teams in the league have taken an advantage of this, yet we at Lynn would rather suffer the humiliation as we did last week .., No sense at all.......
-
Whatever !! ..... That's all the promotion deserves ....... Following Speedway as I have, I have felt disappointed, I have felt let down, I have many times felt annoyed, sometimes I feel 'What's the point', and most years I feel 'probably next year', but never have I felt so embarrassed to wear the clubs colours, as I did at the interval last Wednesday. Buster and his planning had made this club into the biggest laughing stock of the Speedway world...
-
Sorry, but I cant get excited about next year after al our recent troubles. The withholding information about who's riding, the cancellation of meetings on a whim, treating the fans with such contempt, doesn't enthuse me too much at the moment. The British League needs major a overhaul. before anybody thinks about team building. It appears that our speedway is run to suit promoters and riders, and the fans don't even get a consideration.....

Kings Lynn Vs Wolves ( Double Header) 23.08,17
g13webb replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This whole event was an accident waiting to happen. Injury to any riders could always happen and when both teams were using RR the knock on effect is really damaging. Creating a new rule to stop teams from bringing in outside help for the play-off, has really compounded on those teams who could have done with the help. Had we had sensible rules and responsible people in charge, Wednesday match against Wolves Could / Should be played for double points. Then we wouldn't been arguing the rights and wrongs of that second match fiasco. By making it compulsory to complete with only half the riders, the Ref turned the sport into a laughing stock. Rules or no Rules !!!! -

I think we will all look forward to it.., -
I remembered this happening a few years back and was so annoyed at the change in fixture dates. It was at a time when booking holidays was extremely difficult . I was left with a decision to take them or lose them so we had little choice. We took our break in the Lake District and had enjoyed a wonderful time. It showed me then, that Speedway needed the fans, far more than the fans needed the speedway. What a pity the BSPA don't realise this.....
