  1. He has probably removed it because of the comments on this forum. Give them a chance to finish the job before criticising the work!!
  2. Final practice/training day today. Work begins next week.
  3. Just like the BSPA when they run their special meetings such as 4TT and Pairs!!
  4. Under whose duristiction are the Flatrack meetings held. These meetings have been held at Leicester, and Scunthorpe amongst others. There have also been some MotoX meetings held at Leicester; who sanctions those?
  5. And dont forget that Bruce Penhall appeared in Chips
  6. Careful, that could be considered as slanderous unless you have proof.
  7. Workington originally came up with this idea and several clubs have signed up to this agreement. I shall be in Penrith when Workington have their opening meeting but I will not qualify for the discount as I am not a season ticket holder. This arrangement is possible extra value for some season ticket holders around the country.
  8. So the clubs who own their own stadiums lose money every second week, do they. Some of your other suggestions are quite good but have been suggested by fans for some time.
  9. It was not a practice day as such, it was meant as a training day; but having said that, Lew3is Kerr said he was hoping to be there. I didnt attend; does anyone know if he appeared. We have had no comments on here yet about the Lion Cubs - I think that this can only be good for the club.
  10. I have thought long and hard about the following response about me being one of the rose tinted ones on this forum. I feel that my responses are generally fair and when possible factual. I am not blinkered in any way. Indeed I have said before that I feel the track at Leicester is not right and I have told DH this. Nevertheless, there are several factors which can create good or bad racing - the shape of the track, the racing surface, the weather and the riders themselves. During the 2011 season the racing was poor for most of the season but there was some improvement towards the end due to Glyn preparing the surface with the track slick on the inside and grippier on the outside and into the bends. I along with others expected the track to be altered during the close season in accordance with the recommendations made by Colin Meredith and Doc Bridgett; but this was not done. Glyn was sacked and Gareth was brought in. The first three meetings of last season produced woeful racing and although I do not know why Gareth left, I think it may have something to do with the track preparation. DH agreed with me when I metioned how bad the racing had been in those meetings. Glyn came back and I feel that the racing improved and once the Scunthorpe shale was used on the track the racing improved a lot more when the weather allowed. As an example, the late season match against Sheffield produced passes in 11 races after the first two bends and in two other races riders finished less than a wheel diameter apart. I feel that we are already getting positive comments from independant observers from other tracks who have been to Leicester during the latter part of last season. I feel that once the work has been done on the track and in the right hands we should, I hope, lose the "gaters track" tag. And so you see, Robert and Jim, I do agree with you on some matters but I dont like repetition and I am possibly too trusting in saying lets give them a chance to do the changes before we comment further.
  11. Details are on the Leicester Speedway web site!
  12. During the 2011 season someone complained about the lack of training at Leicester and asked why Scunthorpe was the nearest training centre. We now have regular training sessions and you say that the club is in the wrong. Thank you for your positive post; an independant post was definitely needed.
  13. There was also the Pride of the Midlands and the 4 team event. I produce my own racecard as I would only throw away the programme.
  14. Looking at the photos on the LSSC Facebook page, there is someome with Screen on the rear of his kevlars, does anyone know if it was Joe Screen?
  15. You will find that the track couldn't be altered in a week anyway and also I consider, as I have said before, the racing was far better cenerally last season, especially after the Scunthorpe shale was used. I would expect even better racing next season with the shape altered. It is not always down to the shape and surface material, it is also down to preparation and the skill of the riders. The surfade preparation in my mind at the staert of last season, when Gareth was in charge, was appaling!
  16. Why are you asking; you were one of those that were continuously asking for it to be changed.
  17. Contact Alan Jones , The author and co prompter at Leicester Speedway, he will probably point you in the right direction.
  18. Thank you for the info, Glyn. It appears Jim doesnt know as much as he thinks he does!!
  19. DH said in one of his statements at the end of the season (I cant remember which) that there were three events booked for the track and the work on the track would commence once these events were completed. Remember these events produce income when the stadium would normally quiet.
  20. Last season the racing was generally better especially after the shale from Scunthorpe was put on the track. You may also have noticed that only one meeting was cancelled during the season which is a lot less than most other clubs; this on a crap track.
