At Leicester, around 1969 approx, in a match against the hated Coventry, there was a set to and 14 riders and others were on track just outside the pits gate with fists flying!
Many years ago at Cradley the saddle of one of Cradleys bikes came adrift on the last bend causing severe pain in the crotch for the rider. The announcer immediately played the Jerry Lee Lewis version of Great Balls Of Fire!

I feel that if they have not broken any planning conditions, then Mildenhall should not be restricted and I have not seen this argument stated anywhere.
They also had the Commonwealth Games - Thats why speedway stopped at that venue

Its been touched earlier in the thread but what do you miss at these stadia other than the racing? I miss the hot dogs and home made soup at Blackbird Road!
Yes, I had seen it thats why I emailed them but I had no reply after two weeks; hence the enquiry on the forum.
At 2:20pm I recieved an email from Inside Speedway saying that the publication date of the next edition will be announced shortly.
Has anyone recieved Issue 3 of this magazine yet? I believe it should have been published at the beginning of October. Personally I do not think that the publication is very good and will not be renewing my subscription after 4 issues; if I get them all, that is
I do feel that when riders are strung out, it is not the track, it is the bikes/riders. Having said that, there have been some poor meetings this year but there have also been some good ones.
I was enjoying the racing until Glyn was asked to take some dirt off the track. The racing then became follow the leader.
I was very impressed with James Shane. He has style and was prepared to attack the track and take on the opposition.
