  1. Need to rip it right up on the track grade If it slickens off Belle Vue will cope much better and improve
  2. Both Hume and Blordorn with rollers off gate 1 weren't spotted by Chris Gay so he is hardly going to be aware enough for that.....
  3. At Foxhall I say you are weakened by a point - albeit with the risk re Blordorn needing to take 2 extra Doyle missing is probably 4-5 points So overall BV are up on the situation
  4. Although in the guest section that contains the 8 day rule that sees Joe Thompson miss out it states that the guest MUST be in a declared 1-7!!
  5. No longer an option to ride under protest - any such disagreements have to be ironed out prior to the night. Once the meetings starts decisions of that nature are final
  6. Confirms how localised the rain can be Speedy is the closest of us 3 but doesn't mean the track of the rain band didn't cross the stadium Not long to find out
  7. Don't know where you are speedy but it shows the rain was very localised and depends whether the rain band hit the stadium Where I am (2ish miles away as crow flies) the rain was so heavy it woke me up and looking out it was monsoon like If that hit the track I expect similar pictures to the May example If so it will be significantly harder to resolve this time as it has been generally wetter and colder so underlying conditions not as condusive No dry sunny and warm day to assist either
  8. So you admit if a 2nd team wanted to use Harris they could. It takes an non-binding gentleman's agreement to prevent it A legal challenge would allow it.....
  9. Another example of the poor regs Within the sub sections that contain the 8 day rule is another that states the guest MUST be in current declared 1-7 In the RS section it states a RS guest MUST NOT be in a declared 1-7 Call it off now
  10. That was a remarkable effort I think every effort will be made to get it on regardless of the impact recent events could have It will be another packed out night with a fantastic atmosphere Whatever will be will be
  11. Can see some logic in that first bit and the possibility of the second unfortunately
  12. Can see one big league using Championship averages and a limit around 35/36 plus a RS at 7 or 39 if averages used for all 7....
  13. You can have a guest for one of the top 3 but I thought if two were out it was one guest and RR that had to be used rather than a guest for both
  14. Does that section still exist in the regs? There was such a line stating a rider COULD be awarded a true average despite not having ridden the normally required minimum Don't know if it's still in there. I don't remember it EVER being utilised
  15. But reassessed is still assessed. It was reassessed - incorrectly maybe but reassessed all the same
  16. Belle Vue to their credit have shown the ability to run in conditions that other tracks couldn't cope with (far from ideal but possible) Given this and the complications (TV , further date extensions etc) that a postponement would cause I would expect it to go ahead unless Noah turns up with his ark
  17. Indeed Also it may well be that Sheffileld use Fricke in all their remaing meetings. So no signings allowed post the end of August but effectively that's what he would be in all but name! (Mind you a team using the same replacement has a semblance of integrity that other options don't imo)
  18. No argument from me that the way the regs are written is often poor - and sometimes the changes that they look to make to address this can actually makes things worse! With regard to returning riders the traditional 4 ,5 ,7 , 8 etc are irrelevant It states the figure CAN be amended (up or down). It doesn't state it HAS to be The fact it hasn't changed doesn't mean it can't be classed as assessed It probably is a lazy approach to the situation and also indicates a not wanting to rock the boat approach rather than a genuine professional knowledge assessment Even the standard assessments have been puzzling and not followed the normally accepted guide
  19. I make a big thing about being annoyed when posters alter the way they want the regulations interpreted when it affects their team and don't plan to be hypocritical about this situation It may be harsh , stupid , wrong (take your pick) in many peoples view but it is what it is
  20. It's definitely assessed - it just happened to be assessed as his previously achieved average from years back!
  21. Splitting hairs there considering can't sign anyone now and can't use RR for the RS! For team building purposes only the 6 are included so you could argue yes
  22. No he is a RS on the official list - one of which has to be utilised to satisfy the regulations There is no official Witch option in the circumstances so yours is a moot point really.... I suppose Joe Thompson could've been named but officially he is no more a Witch than Jack Smith by current declaration
