  1. Is Johny Ball still alive? He could reprise his old childrens tv show - that would be quite apt. 'Think of a number'
  2. Swindon are not cheating just as Berwick are not cheating. Both just making the most of the apathy towards the application of the regulation. At least the average has been applied consistently.
  3. Good to see some banter coming back 👍 Would be shame for the BSPA to block the move of a young Brit whilst ratifying a dodgy assessed average for a foreigner but stranger things have happened 😜
  4. Ipswich had swapped Connor and Danyon between 6 & 7. Danyon at home and Connor away.
  5. just browsing some tweets and replies via the Witches website link.
  6. Of course everything is fine. Not one post on here has claimed it wouldnt be rubber stamped.
  7. Just been forwarded a pic from the recent Berwick meeting of some supporters discussing the club - Reproduced below 🙈🙉🙊 😜☺
  8. Absolutely - and I have said the decision this time is correct in line with others already made this year in terms of being consistent. Ive had the same stance prior to this year and been consistent in my opinion. That hasnt changed to suit an agenda for or against any club including my own. SCB has pointed out a few occaisions where it has been applied and I have stated it should be applied more often.
  9. This is not about self self self. All through I have stated a generic position for my view. And yes that would include if it went against Ipswich. Possibly 4 as a min (2h2a). There could also be a distinction between changes due to performance as opposed to injury. This would avoid changes being made which manipulate increases/decreases. Whatever the criteria the most important part IMO is that the regulation is the regulation. At present it states an ave MAY be changed. It should be it will or it wont be - no grey area.
  10. Well they do say a picture speaks a thousand words. Perhaps he just didnt have time to type it all out ☺
  11. You obviously havent read much of my previous posts properly or you wouldnt need to ask..... Look at the season to date averages and what Danyon had averaged from his 7 meetings.... The Greaves average is a 2nd tier average from his time at Sheffield not a top league average so no conversion required.... With regard to your last line 'all teams look to get the biggest advantage from the rules' perfectly proves my point as to is wrong with the current set up.....
  12. Expect Stefan to do very well. Capable of a lot of points at Foxhall when he finishes races and he seems to have cut out a lot of the falls and mechanical issues now.
  13. No just a few sensible individuals who can see beyond the bottom of their own team list and have an intelligent debate about what they beleive would be best for the long term integrity of the sport. 👍 Good luck for the rest of the year. Hoping the Witches can come back and collect another 4 points anyway 😛 so far off the mark its laughable. Youre right its not like for like - its a 2.27 rider in place of a 4.57 rider. The complete opposite. 😆
  14. So far there has only been a handfull of times where a rider has really used the extra space on the inside for a bold attempt to pass which has surprised me. Perhaps its because the rider in front has been canny enough to cover enough of the gap. The outside blast has been a little more productive. IMO there does seem to be a better chance there with the more consistent camber and also the extra clay content in the surface. So for me some improvement even if not dramatic.
  15. Totally agree and Ive stated at least twice that I can see why it has been. I think where the problem lies with debates like this is that human nature dictates that people link their view to how it affects their team this time and not what is right/fair regardless of when or who it affects.
  16. That couldve suited Ipswich better. No Sedge perhaps but someone like Batchelor or Porsing would fit for Nicos revised figure and Sarj couldve come in for Danyon if both of their figures were invoked. Instead we have effectively had to shed 2 points from the true average of our team. But we are not bleating about it. We are getting on and signing the best we can within the current rules.
  17. Fair point although the 2nd tier isnt specifically labelled as a development league. My comment was very much about a wider debate than just this situatìon. Much more about the rationale of the system.
  18. Not looking to stir the pot and playing devils advocate a bit (whilst acknowledging that IOW are hampered by the move) but..... ...is the title not actually the National Development League with the underlying reasoning of producing riders of a standard that can take opportunities at the next level?
  19. Not even covers can save a track from 'The Havelock Effect' though!! 🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿 whoops too much 😛😛
  20. Ipswich apparently had extensive talks with Shanes but his other commitments at weekends wouldve meant he would miss upto 18 (yes eighteen) meetings. That would I imagine mean he would be off the Diamonds list as well.
  21. Ipswich is slightly different as there was not a single rider that had raced the set 4h 4a and the new 7 would still be under 40 before May 1st which is the date set in the regs.I do accept however that potentially even that situation could have fallen into my arguement. If so we wouldve looked elsewhere and signed Batchelor or similar. Of course we now have the opposite situation to Berwick. We have a no7 averaging 4.57 from 7 meetings who even running 7 lasts in the 8th meeting would be on 3.8 yet we can only replace with a 2.27 ptr.
