Of course does as can pick who you ride in the semi final giving more chance of reaching the final and the big crowd that comes with it .

As I told you many times at the moment when it comes to guests no one has come up with anything better that includes myself ...When someone comes up with a alternative that is workable then let's us know .. so far 30 or 40 years on no one has hence why we still have guests .

Were these the same fans who were at the Cov v Lakeside match (not on sky ) that was also ran when the forcast showed that it might not run it's course and only lasted 10 heats ? .. to be fair I never heard much from anyone about that match

It's not a fact thou ...no one knew at the start how many heats were going to run ....when the weather and the forcast was like it was last night you have a choice if you are going to go or not and you knew you were taking a risk ....not sure why you are feeling sorry for yourself as it's your own fault .

I watched the match tv and the track was fine for 6 heats I am sure most agree on that ....what do want the new rules to be ..don't start a match on a perfect track in case something bad happens ...during the day bar going on the forcast there was no reason for cov to called that match off on indeed not start the match . When I go to any speedway match myself and more so away matches I look at the forcasts and see if there is likely to be a rain off etc and take my chances ...you must known yourself that last night might have been called off at some stage so you took a chance and went ...no one ask you to and you knew the risks so you only have yourself to blame .

of course you did .there could have been a massive rain storm after heat one and the match would have been called off . there again it might not have rained and 15 heats would have been run ...no one can say how long a match is likely to go on for when the track was fine to race on at the start . The track was fine for 6 heats ...so if rain had stopped during that time then the match would have run it's course ...so there was plenty of chance of the meeting going the distance .

So what did want to happen then ...not run the match in case it rained ? what happens if had not rained ....the bottom line is all you do is get the track ready and fit for racing at the start and that is what Cov did .and but for the rain the match would have ran the full course .

Don't agree with that at all ....the track was fine at the start and fit for racing and if had not rained the heats 15 would have been run ...Speedway can't win sometimes. you get people moaning when matches are called off due to weather forcasts and people who moan when matches are called off when it rains during a meeting . Surely from a home teams view all can do is get a track that is fit to race at start time at that is what cov did ..what happens after is in the lap of the gods .

You have ridden a speedway bike ! wow they put you in charge of making the rules straight away Why would I need to come with idea's ? I understand at this present time there is no better idea than using guests . you on the other hand talk about squads without a clue on how they would work or how they would be paid for or how they would be used without effecting the size of the crowds I

it was ok last year because the track was ok thou I understand not everyone thought the same ..tonight no one thought the track was ok before heat 10 .

Have to agree ...I remember the Swindon meeting and to me the track was ok to carry on thou Swindon and our fans toys come out the pram ...it was nothing like tonight at all .

Your one of the most negative posters about modern speedway hence why we have topics like this in the first place ...do you even go to speedway ? When you put any idea or rule forward you look at the pro's and cons of it rather than saying it sounds great .

I can ..because before you know it teams would start pulling fast ones if it suited them and if they could work it to there advantage ..sadly another problem with rules in speedway is that teams will try to bend them .

I never did ..you said that number 8's should come in and guest ..you never anything about it not being for number one's .

Yet another thing that has ben answered a million times ...you can't replace number 1's with number 8's as it effects the crowds to much ...time and time again people come up with dumb idea's with zero thought to the money side of the sport ...as I said when someone comes up with a squad system that covers all angles let me know

The post I was replying to someone who said that any meeting with a guest is pointless not 2.3 or 4 any guest ..as I have pointed out there has always been guests and even in the good old day there would be at least one ....as I said many times before I don't like guests but intill the people who moan about them all the time like you come with a idea that works is fair and won't effect the crowd numbers they are here to stay .

Not really in nearly match even in the old days there was likely to be a guest it's the nature of the sport ...you said that any match with a guest had no meaning ...in a sport that has always had them and and when no one has come up with a better idea on how to replace missing or injured riders your comment is way over the top .

Not really it's just another example of someone putting down speedway today from a rule that was in force when they went .

?? Speedway has nearly always had guests ...so seeing that is your take why did ever watch speedway in the first place .

Already been answered the fans do not wish to watch matches that have no meaning ...just another example of fans having little idea of the money side of the sport .

Yea that's why it was got rid at El level of because of the lack of crowds just like the craven shield was .
