I agree with most of that . My main point was that Poole have not always been a well supported club . -

It not always pay it bills thou ? the clubs been poorly supported and nearly gone bust before ...it's area and destination did not do much for it then did it . As I said it's club that has risen from the ashes to be the biggest club in the uk and the best example you can get of how to run a speedway club bar Matt Ford bending the rules of course ... -

Does it ? I think it exposes you as Poole have not always been well supported as any speedway fan will tell you . The club used to be dump but as now risen to be the best club and best supported club in the uk ...I would say it would the best example you can have of what a club at speedway as a whole could do if run well . -

Yet again one of the facts was about Emil when he was brought in at Cov the crowds went up ...not only is it fact you have agreed with it and have said yourself "Of course Emil brought crowds in ...so not sure want you want ? Do Poole put on about 400 people when they are town ? seeing I go and you don't I would yet again that's a fact . As for Andersen you said we will be able to retain the likes of him to the league ..so explain to us how in a north and south league running 7 days a week with lower pay how he or his like would or want to be retained ? -

Not at all ..you ask me for examples and facts and I gave you them and then you made a statement that back them up about emil . Yore vision is a vision of the past I guess you miss out bringing back the golden helmet midland cup etc / your post is bound to be liked by the standard 70's and 80's fans and says it all really . The best bit of course is thinking that Hans etc are all going to give up Poland , Sweden ,Euro champs Denmark etc and also take a pay cut to ride in the Uk north and south league ...what world are you in ? . As for Test matches they died a death years ago as fans and riders don't want them . -

Yet again why do you keep going back to the money side ?it had nothing to do with the simple fact that you said that top riders don't bring crowds in . Being able to afford them is another debate The biggest laugh of course is you saying me that Emil was a bad example of the point I was making . Only for you in your next breath you to say in that he did indeed brings extra fans in . -

You forgot to add in one off world finals and second halfs ...all the above are tired and dated and mostly dead formats that died out years ago . How wold retain Andersen and Pedersen etc ? are going to let them off riding Sweden on Tuesdays Denmark on Wednesdays Euro champ meetings etc etc ...and how would you paid for them with the crowds cut in half ? Love the north and south plan meaning that you would not see some of the riders the whole season . -

Why are trying to move the goal posts ? the money demanded and if the clubs can afford such riders is another subject all together and one we have already gone over . My reply was to your crazy statement that crowds won't go up no matter what because people don't care who's riding . As for facts you only have to look at the last time Emil rode for cove the crowds went way up home and away I remember the crowd at brum that night etc he was a massive draw . Yet again it's madness to think that crowds would not be bigger if Emil and Gollob were in the el -

Yet again an untrue statement certain teams will always be able to afford certain riders due there income . Poole are able to pay the likes of Ward and Holder and still make a profit while Glasgow and Boro can't afford to pay anyone who are on much lower pay . -

More silly comments ...The fact of the matter no what the numbers a crowd will go up if a better team or riders turn up it's just pure common sense ..A better question to ask cov or ippo fans is do you think more fans would go if Gollob or Emil were in there sides .. of course using your crazy logic that no cares who rides the answer is bound to be no . -

Wrong Morris wanted to ride in Two leagues ...If he was to ride for Sheff if would meant leaving Swindon and doubling up with the Lions to avoid a clash of race nights . At the end the day Morris was going to start as a EL rider only at Swindon intill the rebels change of mind about Proctor . But people have said on here that people don't care about team line up's ? Falace has told us people turn up no matter who's riding . -

When did anyone say things were Brilliant ? i think you got to pretty naïve thou to think the size of the crowd is not effected by the standard of the side or riders you are facing . Maybe we get 400 more fans every time Poole are in town because people like the colour blue . Not at all any sport without tv money would have a lower standard but unless it happens or it's going to happen then it's pointless talking about it . -

? the only league to pay riders a lot more than they should . As I have to keep pointed it's what you can afford . Glasgow and Boro both who are pl by the way at this time are finding it hard to paid riders meaning that the budget they had means that they were paying to much . No doubt Newport another Pl team were paying the line up they had the correct amount on the 250 fans they were getting ? -

Not having a pop at the pl just pointing out that the same things can happen in each league . -

No match of late when in the PL that a team has had 4 guests in then ? no doubt riders don't get stuck in traffic in the PL as well . -

I Don't think your find anyone who would say that Speedway has been run well at El level or indeed that the standard has not dropped . in 10 years thou I would say that crowds have dropped all round no matter what the league . -

Really silly comment it's quite clear if a Ward or a Woffy come to town then the crowd going to be bigger , just pure common sense . Swindon crowds are nearly always based upon what the oppo side is like . As for being able to afford riders as I said before It's all about money going in and out that's why Poole can afford to Pay Ward and teams like Glasgow and Boro can't even paid there riders even thou they have much lower wages . This great plan of cutting costs and making the standard lower is the same plan for the last 20 years and that is why we find ourselves in the state we are in now . ??? Boro can even paid there wages and are begging fans to attend . Tell me how well Brum did in money terms in the Pl last time . How are Glasgow getting on ? One day people will wake up and understand that Speedway is not working at any level and that includes pl . . -

So a Euro game over two legs is not a played on a football pitch a moment a go you told us that a gd rule could happen in any form of football.. the fact is that it does . Why are you trying to result to pointless insults by the way ? if going act like a child by doing this and lose your temper then don't get into a debate in the first place . -

But in football in the Euro cup goals can count double ...if going to start to use sporting analogy you need to start brushing up on your home work other wise your look silly . -

Sorry where is it in this post that I defend it .I said it no more mickey mouse than the old rule what it is . And that my friend is the point I was making . if don't like unfair and crazy rules then can't like one and not the other . Thanks for proving my point . -

Yet again I never said the new rule was fair . I told you 3 times now. How you can say the old rule was fair when one sides riders could have more rides than the other side is amazing -

Yet again what you say has nothing to do with the point I am making .Either you like a rule that gives us false results or you don't the bottom line both rules are unfair to the other side who are winning fair and square . What do you mean it never gave closer scores ? are you saying there was not one match in the history of speedway that a tac sub never made a score closer ? the idea of any tac /joker or double points is to make a match more closer of course that's not say that some teams are going to still win by 25-30 points does it ? -
The Future Of The Elite League
orion replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
To be fair I am a fan of the old tac rule and the new double points rule I think speedway need them to make the match more exciteing but not the World cup joker as people getting beat on purpose is just to much . Scoring double points is no more mickey mouse that being to able to replace your number 7 with a world champion in heat 8 . -

I never defended the new rule and never said that it never gave out false results . My point was quite clear if you moan about silly rules then don't defend the old tac sub rule . So what do you think the old tac sub rule did ? it gave you a closely contested finale ..Yet again thou because it was in the older days you found it ok ? -
