English Riders Is Two Riders To Many If Made Compulsory.?
orion replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Spot on ..Speedway is never going to go down in price no matter if there are 7 brits in the side . -
I doubt it ..all it will do it mean less people will know about the sport and even less new fans
-
Was it introduced when there was 13 or 15 heats ?

English Riders Is Two Riders To Many If Made Compulsory.?
orion replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
OF course it would put the crowds down replaceing good riders with riders who are half a lap behind is hardly going to make people pay £17 ...As I said before there plenty of leagues and ways for Brits to come through without given out hand outs and charity . -
I Expect a change that brings in more crowds not less ...that is where speedway has gone wrong never every idea put forward means that there be less crowds and more lost fans to the sport ..
-
Never got this about sky ..surely the old tac sub rule made the matches close and that had nothing to with sky ....the idea was brought in to replace the old rule because teams were paying to much money to there top riders when they took extra rides .

English Riders Is Two Riders To Many If Made Compulsory.?

Should never happen , teams places should be given on merit not charity plus the bigger teams would just paid bigger money to the better brits also what happens when one of these brits get injured ..yet again another idea that put the crowds down and loses more money that it would save . -
Not at all as I said there are plenty of leagues in the uk to show that you are good enough to be given a chance in a higher league, is a myth that just by putting young brits who are not good enough in El teams they will get better in most cases it sends them backwards
-
Sorry ? my point was if you are good enough you will make it ? your point about Sturridge just back up's my point his talent won in the end ...Fergie never put Beckham in the Man ute side intill he was good enough as I said sport is not a charity ... if Kerr is good enough then he will get a chance to race in the el nothing will stop him doing that just as Cook and Worrall have shown .he won't need the sort of charity you want to give out .
-
No it's not ..been over this time again ..in the uk there of plenty leagues and chances to show your good enough to get a place in the el like Worrall and Cook who have done it on merit rather than giving people charity and brits chances who are not good enough ...just like any sport you pick the best team .. the same applies to football if a brit is good enough he will get a chance why would someone pick a foreign who is not as good .
-
So the answer to the question is there are no riders who are just as good who cost less ? just riders who cost less
-
As I said they already have clubs double uppers or not ...so the question is still the same who are these riders without clubs who cost less are just as good ? if Wolves could signed someone who just as good as bobby who would have cost less and rides in the pl they would of . the bottom line there no such rider .
-
Of course is was the question ...White Knight said there were Brits who were just as good who would cost less money ....so who are these riders who are just as good and cost less who have not got a el club at the moment ? There can't be any because common sense tells you that if that was the case they would taken already ...you gave 3 riders so I ask you again tell me what brits who have not got a el club are better than those 3
-
What examples ? what Brits who are in the Pl who have not got a El are better than them ? it's common sense if there were such riders who cost less then they would be used ...
-
Not sure I get your logic ? why would you employ someone who costs more when you could get someone cheaper of the same standard ...The Problem with Speedway over years is people coming up with plan that will make the crowds smaller in the name of cutting costs .
-
Can't see that I saw by the massive crowd at Swindon last week that if the teams are decent people can find the money ...I don't think it's certain more people would go if the prices were lower to watch a lower standard . People can say what they what be there a massive call to watch the top riders in the uk .
-
.The bottom line if there was one big league then every rider would have an average that would allowed them to take part in it ..there is no way there going to say to woffy etc that you can't ride in the uk, that is never going to happen ...
-
Think again

As Poole fan I thought your first thought would be where were you own team riders were on your home track ...glug glug -
I took the mick like many others but he to used crack me up with him sayings ...no longer will the start marshall walk away and the tapes fly up or the riders go line a breast into the first bend ..rip tony
-
It would to you .
-
As what hapens if do that and a rider breaks his leg ? you can't factor that in . the bottom line is after 40 years or more some of best speedway brains have sat down many a time and can't come up with anything that is better . Also Fans don't want to rr for top riders .there is so much more that just making a rule that just get rid of guests .
-
As i pointed out if it was Ward the crowd would way down ..you need to factor these things in when coming up with new rules .
-
Yea i see your point .must agree that tends to be a loophole that has never been stopped
