It was not the same for both as Somerset went down to 5 riders causing the reserves to have far more rides and going with only 1 rider in 1 heat. Poole went down to 6 riders. The injuries were unfortunate and nobody wanted that but to say it was the same for both sides is clearly wrong. What race did Poole go with only 3 riders? Spot on Nobody is saying Poole dont deserve to go through.......just the fact they have had the rub of the green and the accident affected Somerset more. Just a shame that the odd one or two think its all anti Poole garbage again. The decent Poole fans know they had the luck on their side and thats the way it goes. Fact is Poole done the hard work in the first leg so on balance may have deserved to go through
-
Of course there was an advantage gained by Poole Yes both teams lost a rider but Somerset went down to 5 riders and Poole down to 6. This meant Somersets reserves having 7 rides each...............something that tired them both out as in 5 heats in a row they both filled last places. It also meant Somerset tracking only 3 riders in heat 13. No advantage was gained in the scoring but gained quite clearly in the fact the reserves were over worked and going into a race with 3 riders Poole deserved the win no doubts at all and that was a great ride form Harris though Doyle kept looking back and the error he made out of turn two allowed Harris the chance which he took, but you cannot say that Somerset werent unlucky R/R for Summers did get more but Howarth got less than BWD so that evens out. As i said forget the scoring of Kurtz and Holder as we will never know how that would have gone, but the crash did happen and as ive said above it had an impact on reserves being overused and having only 1 rider in heat 13. If you read through my posts ive congratulated Poole but you must realise that that crash helped Poole more than Somerset Both semi finals have been decided by injury, hope the final isnt Just for once how about reading my post rather than twisting what i wrote as usual I didnt ridicule Klindt, i said he scored zero for Workington at Edinburgh and were Poole fans concerned. I didnt ridicule him one bit. Funnily enough the decent Poole fans actually replied and had a good discussion Klindt has been fantastic for Poole this season and was robbed in the first staging of heat 15 i agree. Why you feel the need to twist peoples words is beyond me

Of course Poole were lucky , the vast majority of their fans realise that but as I’ve said you can only beat what’s in front of you. Somerset were down to 5 riders and one of those in Howarth was poor. Guest and r/r got 6 between them. And if you read posts I did say that Somerset had the only reserves that could trouble Pooles Allen and Covatti had a spell mid meeting where they simply ran out of steam. Has Somerset had a full team they wouldn’t have had 7 rides each and also only go with 3 riders in one heat! Im pretty sure the usual people will say it’s anti Poole because they can’t see past the end of their nose but it’s pretty obvious that a full Somerset side would have won. And the loss of Holder affected Somerset far more as they were running r/r already ..... don’t think Pooles reserves had to have 7 rides each to help cover losing Brady or running a race with only 1 rider so quite clearly that was a huge loss for Somerset Things have fallen nicely for Poole not their fault... no injuries all season..... a weakened team in the semi final and now they can replace Kurtz with someone who goes better at Lynn Obviously not good to see Kurtz and Holder injured but that crash effectively put Somerset on the back foot
-
Sensational ride by Harris there Just a shame that Somerset lose due to injury but that’s the sport and Poole can only beat what was in front of them Losing Jack Holder weakened Somerset as did only having 3 riders in heat 13. 2 points from a guest 4 from r/r 4 from IRR Poole didn’t exactly have much to beat With 2 fit teams it’s obvious Somerset would have walked it but that’s the way it goes Shame both semis were spoilt by injuries Now of course Poole can bring in a better rider than Kurtz Advantage Poole

Bad luck again for the Rebels tonight missing Summers. R/R for Summers not BWD means that Lawson can now not take a ride............that doesnt help Somerset one bit. Also Howarth for BWD means that they are replacing pretty much like for like around Wimborne Road this season, as Howarth has been poor this season....irrelevant of what he did last season. Shame Somerset have got this far then seen injuries to BWD and Summers possibly cost them the change of a first ever league Same as Belle Vue also had injuries at the wrong time......but thats not Kings Lynn or Pooles fault they can only beat whats in front of them. Lets hope that in the final both Kings Lynn and Poole will have 7 fit riders and the best team win , it would not be nice to see the final decided by injuries like the semis have been

King's Lynn v Belle Vue; Play-Off. semi final 2nd leg
Gavan replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Mark Riss withheld his services which results in a ban He didn’t have a season ending injury and then rode again How people can compare the two is just farcical but expected from some. Do I like the fact he refused to ride over here? No But to compare it to the Hans Andersen injury is just daft -
Oh dear Im not all that worried what happens Monday to be honest. Poole are hot favourites as they were before a wheel was turned this season. They kept it close at Somerset and now surely cant throw it away from here. I would expect the final is the least the Poole fans would expect with the line up they had at the start of the season and having been fortunate enough to have missed any injurys as well

Ok so he is a heat leader and should be getting double figures. Blimey if we posted everytime a heat leader scored 9 or 10 there would be no room on the thread for anything else. Klindt riding at number one scores zero................so every right to be concerned Klindt at home scores 10.....................as he should................why would i post about that?

King's Lynn v Belle Vue; Play-Off. semi final 2nd leg
Gavan replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
And? Irrelevent......Poole replaced a rider with a much better rider just it didnt work out. I doubt it..........most teams play fair ..............Dakota North anyone lol 100% spot on. -
Why would i mention them? They both number one riders for their teams so should be getting double figures. Or do you think its worthy to say Klindt got 10 at home from number one? Thats his job. Only worth pointing out if a number one is poor or a reserve does well. No headlines if a number one gets 10 or a reserve gets 4

Belle Vue vs Kings Lynn Playoff Semi 1st Leg 24/09/18

Didnt say he did Managers protect their riders same as they all do. Whats worse, Allitt pushing a mechanic up to the fence or Middlo backing Darcy up for all the stuff he did off track? Im not saying Allitt was right in what he did but it was no worse than Middlo sticking up for his rider for all of his off track issues -
Belle Vue vs Kings Lynn Playoff Semi 1st Leg 24/09/18

Did i say Allit did nothing wrong? He removed the mechanic quite forcefully to the fence. I was simply pointing out all managers would protect their riders, as Middlo did with countless incidents with Ward -
Belle Vue vs Kings Lynn Playoff Semi 1st Leg 24/09/18

But its ok for a team manager to accept his rider getting in a fight on a night out and then the same rider being under drugs or alcohol and driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle and being banned from driving................its what kids do. Watch the Belle Vue footage again, Simon Lambert is the issue here going up to Etheridge, which led to the mechanic getting involved so Allitt took him away up to the fence. Allitt isnt blameless but he was a manager protecting his riders , they all do it and Middlo is as bad if not worse in his backing of Darcy -
King's Lynn v Belle Vue; Play-Off. semi final 2nd leg

You do have to laugh but its the same person trolling over and over. Poole hot favourites at the start of the season. Had the best 1-7 assembled and boy did the Poole mafia let everybody know. The fact remains that Poole were awful this season and by hook or by crook and elements of luck they have almost made the final. The 1-7 Poole had should have walked the league and the fact they have changed 13 riders means it would look pretty poor if they didnt make the final. Even if Poole make the final and lose to a team that were expected to finish bottom then Poole have had a poor season, i also dont think Poole would have been where they are if they didnt benefit from Rye House closing and they have been very lucky as well with no injuries. And there is no way Poole will get the peoples vote lol. Kings Lynn have been the underdogs all season so a victory in the final will be against the odds -
King's Lynn v Belle Vue; Play-Off. semi final 2nd leg
Gavan replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Correct they are pretty much guaranteed to be in the final hence the short odds. Irrelevant of who their opponents are those odds will drift as soon as both teams are known. Bookmakers work to a percentage overound so at the moment 3 teams (barring an amazing Belle Vue comeback) can win the league. One is those is in the final pretty much so they are always going to be much shorter than the other 2. Its basic odds compiling. If Poole would have won by 8.....and Belle Vue v Lynn was closer say a 6 point Belle Vue win , then Poole would be long odds on favourites. If it’s Kings Lynn v Poole final then it will be Kings Lynn as slight favourites but only just -
King's Lynn v Belle Vue; Play-Off. semi final 2nd leg
Gavan replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They are huge favourites because of he fact they are pretty much in the final but then again I wouldn’t expect you to know how odds work. Lets say in a two legged football match semi final that match one between Chelsea v Liverpool ends 0-3 to Liverpool (similar to Lynn at Belle Vue) and the other match between Man Utd at home to Man City ends 1-1 ( similar to Somerset v Poole) Quite clearly Liverpool would be hot favourites to win the final (like Lynn) as they are pretty much there where as Man City still have a bit of work to do (like Poole) Thats how odds are worked out. Trust me if it’s Lynn v Poole they will be similar in odds for the final it’s just at the moment one team is a near certainty to be in the final the other is likely to but not certain Or do you think it will be 8/15 and 9/4 in the final lol -
What's the best race you ve seen live
Gavan replied to r8gdp's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Loram v Louis British Final run off 1997. After following Mark and sponsoring him since the age of 15 to see him lift his first British crown was great and the race was hard but fair. Wasnt there but go on you tube and watch Mark v the Gollobs in 2001. They try to team ride and twice Tomasz almost fences Mark only for him to get them both. Not often Mark showed emotion on track but he did crossing the line in that one! -
Same old rubbish from the same old people Thank god for normal Poole fans like rayc who rather than troll realise the truth. This season Summers has scored 2 both times Jake Allen scored 2 Both Lawson and Covatti have failed to win a race at Poole in 13 races between them BWD been there once this season and scored 5 including a fall but beat Woryna twice and won a heat. Poole can only beat what’s in front of them but the luck is going there way and unfortunate for Somerset to be weakened
-
I don’t agree I think that pretty much all of the field with the possible exception of Pawlicki and Cook can all win a Gp on a given night. Go back a to the beginning of the decade and I would say it was only 6 or 7 that could be classed as a likely winner such really was the dominance of Rickardsso Crump

Belle Vue vs Kings Lynn Playoff Semi 1st Leg 24/09/18
Gavan replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Far from it mate we used to follow Mark Loram so spent many a Saturday night at Lynn and would love them to win the league. Always remember Marks first meeting at home v Reading. He either scored 17 out of 18 or 20 out of 21 from number 7 and the only person to beat him was Readings reserve.....Todd Wiltshire! -
Belle Vue vs Kings Lynn Playoff Semi 1st Leg 24/09/18
Gavan replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ok we can forget those meetings then When Poole went to Lynn and lost by 2 PalmToft got 5 Worrall top scored last time for Poole at Lynn as a heat leader..... he is now at reserve. Poole fans on here going overboard a bit I think. Over the 2 meetings I would expect the Poole reserves to hugely outscore King’s Lynns. Lambert has had 10 rides at Poole and scored 1 point! Poole and Lynn have been built differently, Poole rely on a big hitting reserve and 5 riders if similar average , while Lynn have the strong top 5. If Pooles top two keep Lambert and NKI scores down then Poole will win
