  1. At the Edinburgh meeting Cook was interviewed by Scott Wilson during the meeting about Thursday's incident. Cook himself said that what he did was wrong and was not like him to react in the way that he did and he regrets it big time. He also said that Barker made a comment when going by him in the pits which he then reacted to by giving him a wee slap round the back of the head then it all kicked off from that point. He also said that the Ref was right to chuck him out of the meeting because of the way he acted in the changing rooms. Was told by someone tonight who usually get all the inside information on things and is very reliable when it comes to information on things like new signings etc that Cook was chucked out for the way he acted in the changing rooms and him and Barker were then both given £350 fines each for the altercation in the pits. The person also said that this incident between Cook and Barker had nothing to do with what happened in heat 1 but with what was said on twitter between the two and because of what happened at the 4's with the crash involving Cook, Tungate and Bellego as Barker was running his mouth about Cook when he was standing outside of his van after the meeting so that people around could hear him. From what this person has told me they were just as bad as each other IMO, if Cook didn't get chucked out of the meeting for the way he acted in the changing rooms we probably wouldn't still be talking about this as it would have been put down as handbags between the two an we would have all moved on.
  2. Please tell me these excuses i have made for him are??? As I said in my last post Cookie deserves whatever punishment he gets because his behaviour was unacceptable tonight and probably did cost us a place in the final! But someone needs to have a word with that wee rodent because he is the common theme of these kind of events!
  3. Once again barker is made to look innocent unbelievable! There is one common theme in these kind of incidents and that is Barker. I'm not saying that what Cookie done is acceptable because it's not and deserves to be punished for punching Barker but I don't believe for one minute that Ben Barker didn't have a roll to play in the incident.
  4. It was a joke that's why there is a wink face at the end of my comment!
  5. Cook has been a silly boy reacting to that rodent! he should no better it's not the first time and won't be the last that mr barker gets involved in this kind of stuff. One of these times Barker is going to get himself into bother and really get hurt but i'm sure he will get a nice reception when he comes to armadale.
  6. This week sees the Bandits making an appearance at the Dale hoping to come away with something as the monarchs have been poor at home of late. Adam Ellis guests for Barrett not sure why though maybe someone can confirm the reason for this. With Ellis guesting it makes the Bandits much stronger as he has banged in 18 points in his 2 previous appearance compared to Barrett who scored 3 earlier in the season. Teams for Friday: Edinburgh Monarchs Craig Cook Derek Sneddon Theo Pijper Max Fricke Claus Vissing Mitchell Davey Joe Tabaka Berwick Bandits Ricky Ashworth David Bellego Robin Aspegren Matthew Wethers Kozza Smith Adam Ellis (guest) Paul Starke
  7. Hampel v Jepsen Jepsen for the world cup Money has got to be on Hampel for this one. Or is MJJ going to show his class that you know who keeps going on about.
  8. Ref must of hit the town before the meeting! :drink:
  9. thank god i was working last night and didn't have to witness what sounded like a poor meeting and a poor performance by the boys in blue & gold. By the sounds of it we were out gated in basically every race again by the diamonds which was crucial the last time as well. Well done to the Diamonds though on their victory (that took a lot of guts to type that) but hopefully we can repay the favour next week.
  10. Good comeback by the monarchs to get the draw again today! Cookie once again showing why he is the best rider in the league! Mr Vissing is now beginning to pull of vital 5-1's when needed in later heats!
  11. Ca't believe people think what Cook said is true!!!!!!! The reporter (David Kinvig) is <unacceptable language removed> when he rights his reports about Edinburgh matches about 25% of the article is actual fact the rest of it he just makes up. So i wouldn't read to much into what cookie has apparently said as most of it probably isn't true like the rest of the pish that he wrights up. Cookie has also said on twitter himself that he didn't even say half the rubbish that has been written. But it is good to see that he hasn't been knocked by this setback and he now wants it even more.
  12. points lost rather than gained IMO. 3 tapes EX for cookie tonight not like him. Anyone at the meeting no what happened at the tapes in heat 15???? I take it Mellgren and Vissing both touched them at the same time??
  13. you know the point i was trying to make. For example he rides your place pretty well.
  14. Please remind me who he rode for before joining Edinburgh???
  15. Gutted missing another derby but i'm feeling that confident that we will win i'm going to come out of retirement for one time only to predict the monarchs to win this one by 25. Whoever Glasgow may be signing he will not be at Edinburgh which has been announced on the monarchs website.
  16. I'm a Edinburgh fan and I would rather have Cook 1.) better rider home and away 2.) (and this is the most important one) he actually turns up!!!! Cook also has a higher EL and PL average than THJ Also regarding your comment about not generating speed, he broke to track records at the weekend one at Edinburgh on Friday by 0.2 seconds and then at Glasgow on Sunday by a whole second if that is not having speed not to sure what is. Another comment you made was he he can't pass top rider read below. Heat 09: Cook, Batchelor, Nieminen, Birks. (4-2)...25-29...59.8 Line Up: Cook, Nieminen, Batchelor, Birks Comments: Batchelor leading until Cookie wound on the gas and sailed by. Read more: http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/12493/belle-vue-swindon-2013-30pm#ixzz2YbteyWpr I would continue but there is really no point as your talking crap!!!
  17. League cup semi final this time at the dale against the high flying witches. Monarchs will need to be on top form this week if they want any chance of taking a decent lead down there for the second leg. James sargeant will guest again for mitchell while for the witches heeps will move up to the main body of the team with Hawkins dropping down to reserve. Unfortunately going to be missing the next 3 meetings as going on holiday to get some sun for 2 weeks then having to work the following so i hope you all don't miss me to much. Teams for Friday: Edinburgh Monarchs Craig Cook Derek Sneddon Theo Pijper Joe Tabaka Claus Vissing James Sarjeant Max Fricke Ipswich Witches Ben Barker Cameron Heeps Rohan Tungate Morton Risager Leigh Lanham Adam Elllis Ritchie Hawkins
  18. Kennett proving his pick tonight with a fantastic performance.......
  19. Tai, Bomber and cookie were always going to be in the team IMO. The last place for me would have been between Worrall, Kennett, King and Barker and whoever was in the best form leading up to the event would get the place and on current form I would of said Barker but Middlo seems to think otherwise. Either way i'm going to back the team and hopefully they can all put on a performance and do GB proud.
  20. After Sunday when Max gets his average he goes back into the main body of the team and Tabaka goes back to reserve.
