  1. From a spectator watching point of view, why is the club not in a good place ?
  2. If there was a bona fide full strength Elite League then its questionable if fans would watch additional National League standard racing. It might work with stand alone National League teams but look at the drop off in attendances currently at say Coventry Bees and Coventry Storm
  3. Don't think anyone advises Tai, he just does what he thinks is best for him !
  4. If you read Tai's comments at the time he doesn't want, or has any need to ride in the British Final again, regardless of qualifying through semi finals or being directly seeded. Its similar to Mo Farah and others missing the Commonwealth Games, they become insignificant once you have won them and you save your energy and focus for the big events. This is not the fault of the BSPA. When Tai was building his profile in the sport being British Champion was an important title to win and he would happily qualify and ride the final on a Monday even if in Poland on Sunday and Sweden on Tuesday. Sometimes you just move on ! Sadly it does no favours to the British final as an event or helps the federation that helped you make your name, nor does it give your fans a rare chance to see the current British World Champion race Live on home shale at the National Stadium
  5. Think some on here are knocking him for the very points you've made.
  6. Any sport needs 3 things to be successful 1. A good TV deal, that increases at every renewal 2 Extensive sponsorship 3 Healthy attendances of mostly full paying adults Naught out of three for speedway at present
  7. He wouldn't ride if seeded. If you read his statement he talks about the British final in a past tense . Tai has no more need to win or appear in any British final in the future
  8. If Woffinden was seeded straight to the final he would still not ride. He has won it 3 times and there is nothing to gain from winning it again, so it is scrubbed from his calender. Don't expect Tai to appear in another British final.
  9. Golden rule of speedway these days : don't let em up the inside
  10. Why was Masters not excluded then ? If that is the rule then the referee clearly didn't understand it Under the old rule Masters would have definitely been excluded
  11. Hopefully Rugby council didn't see last nights bare terraces when making their decision
  12. The Bspa have screwed the 2 minute time allowance rule under the usual health and safety concerns. To prevent any rider who is struggling to make the time allowance the ability to short cut across the centre green a rider has now only to be on track within the 2 minute limit and not as before be at the tapes and ready to race. Technically you could have as long as you like before you are ready to race, this is only serving to lengthen meetings and not punishing those who are not ready to race after 2 minutes as Sam Masters last night. The current scoring system is one of the best ideas the BSPA have had in recent years. Its one of few weaknesses of the Polish and Swedish leagues
  13. Good stuff from Coventry tonight, best meeting on Sky for a while. Right result in the end, would have liked an explanation from the ref as to what happened with Masters in heat 12. This is the quality of speedway fans want to see on a weekly basis .Tonight's action deserved a bigger crowd
  14. How is Masters at reserve when he is Number 8 in the National Averages ?
  15. If they are going to scrap the league system what is going to replace it ? On another point surely everyone has an equal vote at the BSPA conference. If every promoter says 'run it my way or I'm out then the sports stuffed
  16. Don't think the Authorities ie the F.I.M are too bothered. The tracks in Britain being clay based, heavy material are just not compatible with today's machines. It works better in Poland and Sweden with their tracks being of a finer grade of material
  17. Kings Lynn is not the only track serving up a product that is inferior to what it once was, this is why crowds are now so low domestically
  18. You must have a good memory .Sadly the quality of racing at Monmore these days is not what it was.
  19. The crowd was good at Wolves on Monday but the racing was not that good
  20. You can scrub Wolves from your list if what we've seen thus far this season is a guide
