It will be interesting to see whether or not Nick rides in the PL Play Off Grand Final (if Scunthope qualify). I can see Rob and Nick kissing and making up for this year, but I never expected the young Aussie to be in the 2013 team any way. ps if you're reading this Nick, just tell Rob "it was that nasty Rosco fella made me do it".

Bach was fast tonight but tried too hard in the heat 12 when he fell, very unlucky to pack up when a mile ahead with the black and white colours on. Rest of the Comets had a night to forget. Can either of Worky or Edinburgh do the double over each other ? Said over the tannoy that Craig Cook is fit again (will ride in the PLRC next Sunday) so can't see an away win at Armadale. Big thanks to all the Guests used this weekend................ but it does leave a slightly unsatisfactory feeling to events.

Nicki Or Chris?
EC Rides Again replied to June01's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If there isn't an "incident" in Heat 13 I'll eat my hat. -
Hope you're right Richie will be among the most sought after signings for both EL and PL for 2013. I presume Rob Godfrey will have to approve any deals.

Just become a Scorpions fan, and be done with it.

If he stays on at Lakeside then the Friday track thing would be an issue !

Re. Richie I thought that the Worrals were from St Helens. I would keep on Gary in a heart beat.

Would love to see more of the team made up of Scunthorpe assets. Richie Worrall is a must and would love to see Stefan Nielsen back at the EWR (already tied up by the Witches ?). As much as Wilko and Hall entertain at the EWR they will not be good enough away from home to let us challenge for silverware. I hope that Rob can move heaven and earth to get Josh Auty and David Howe to return. Josh will be up to him and the result of the AGM next month. Getting Nick Morris back will be very difficult both logistically and also under the points limit. I would expect both MPT and Jorgy to be back if the status quo of 42.5 pts for team building remains. If we are looking for a 3-pointer (not Stefan Nielsen) then Tom Young should be first in line.

Robert Lambert National League Next Year?
EC Rides Again replied to Damon's topic in National League Speedway
A vivid memory of my youth is young Mr Lee riding in his first senior meeting for the Cudas at New Hammond Beck Road in March 1975. A chilly early spring Sunday evening in a challenge match against Peterborough. Within weeks he was at the head of the Boston averages and was scoring for Kings' Lynn in the British League. If your good enough your old enough. -
Tempting fate, but with the unfortunate injury to Cookie tonight this group is there for the taking for the Scorpions. Get well soon Craig. Pretty entertaining meeting despite the lop-sided scoreline. All the Scorpions were on it, with Bunyan unlucky not to score more points. MoM performance from Joe Tabaka for the Monarchs.

Like most teams that win a title Scunthorpe played their hand well when injuries happened to the original 1-7. Armstrong being "let go" and Howe's absence for most of the season cancelled each other out as far as "breaks" go. Key decision that the management took was re-declaring with Morris effectively coming in for Aarnio. Irving falling back into Scunthorpe's lap was a real stroke of luck (thnaks Mr Denham). The first match at Edinburgh is key to the Scorpions chances. The Monarchs will have Cook and Tabaka back on board this time out compared to the league fixture last month.

To not reach the final having finished runner-up in the League would be an anti-climax, I think. To do it without Tommy "the gun" Jorgensen will be difficult and mean that only five "proper" Scorpions will have landed the trophy if the team succeeds in taking the title, which is a little bit of a downer.

Nail on the head. I love my fix of speedway, but I don't go every week as I have a life, and I'm sure I'm not alone. For the promoters who run speedway at venues that they don't own the future looks bleak.

Decent meeting with odd flashes of brilliance (MPT & Morris getting the better of Wilko comes to mind). Skiddy was a solid guest and all the other Scorpions made good contributions. For the Bears Ostergaard started like a train but missed the start on his T/R and looked ordinary after that. Summers was awful (machinery problems ?), Doolan not a factor, Wilko tried hard (as usual) and the reserves may as well not bothered......star of the show was Kus who was super fast (even with the occasional roller!). Without Matej it would have been a cricket score. So the top spot in the League looks like it will be decided next Friday night. Can't quite bring myself to say "come on the Devils" though ! Rob said that Scunny will run against Glasgow come hell or highwater.

Joe Haines Signs For Dudley
EC Rides Again replied to villiers210's topic in National League Speedway
Is the quota of sixteen meetings part of a larger quota for ALL speedway meetings at Monmore ? I'm sure that PL promoters would love the extra income that the large Dudley following would bring to away meetings .
