  1. Made me smile as well. Has anyone got an idea who it is ? Hats off to Tai. "Tough boys, these speedway riders" - who said that ?
  2. Crazy results in the PL lately. Home teams can't buy a win! I wasn't there tonight so can't comment on the action but can just imagine Rob Godfrey's reaction.
  3. Gutsy rear-guard action from the Scorpions to keep the tie alive for tomorrow night. Get well soon David. Has anyone got Josh Gracjzonek's mobile number? (Probably easier to get Richard Hall on speed-dial !)
  4. Lucky people at Lynn tonight. You can all say "I was there on Lambert's debut".
  5. And pops out to win his first four rides . A bit closer than I thought it would be, but still "nul points" for the Scorpions.
  6. I had to nip out to fetch our lad back from band practice so missed the Starke incident. What happened ?
  7. He should donate his fee tonight back to the supporters. Should be mullering the opposition at this level.
  8. Don't want to kick someone when they are down, but on that form Scott will not be a big miss at the SWC. Caught the back end of the meeting on the excellent streaming site and was a bit shocked by how much water they put down on the track. For the first of each block of four heats the surface was like an ice rink.
  9. USA through, Billy J. chipping in with 6 points. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/wydarzenie/16087
  10. I bet Sky must be cursing their luck having shown the GPs for so long without a hope of a British World Champion and when they give up the rights Tai suddenly looks like being a major contender!
  11. Great to hear God Save The Queen ringing out at the podium ceremony. Must have been fantastic for all the UK fans out in Prague.
  12. Massive congratulations to Tai. Let this win be the first of many.
  13. I must mention the work done at the starting area to even up the gates, well done Rob and the track staff - much better than in recent weeks.
  14. Helfer was as poor as Josh Bates has been for Scunny, and we made the change at reserve this week - say no more. As for the rest of the meeting, although it's great to watch speedway in the sun slapping on the lotion the track really suffered and the racing was not of the highest quality. Edinburgh hung in after a terrible start and credit to them, but Scunthorpe will be smarting that they did not secure all three league points. Craig Cook untouchable today. At least Scunthorpe won't have to ride against him EVERY week !
  15. I think that I fell lucky as I tuned in from heat 14 onwards. Some good racing and glad to see some different names mixing it at the front. A bit of a shame that praise of Tai on the GP threads always seems to be rather grudging or else a little back-handed.
  16. A meeting we can all look forward to without checking the weather for change. Are many Monarchs fans making the journey south? I will be bringing junior with me for only her second ever meeting, so don't let us down you scorpions!
  17. Just whizzed through the heats and fast forwared Nige and Co. The racing was Ok, but seen better at Scunthorpe more often than not. Rob and the gang must sort out the starting gates as a priority, the bias for Gate 4 is getting out of hand. A draw seems like a fair result on the night, but why no Auty in Heat 15 ? Please bring back Richard as team manager for home meetings.
  18. Gutted that I won't be there tonight but the dvr is set to record the action............. can't say that about many Scorpions matches ! Scorps 46-44 in a thrilla.
  19. At least Sky are making an effort this seasons. Previously it was the same old formula for years. Just a change of Totty in the Pits every so often.
  20. Bates was a late replacement for Gary Irving and I don't think he was expecting to have this opportunity quite so early in his career. If he gets half a season of PL experience under his belt then concentrates on his NL matches with Mildenhall for the second half of the year he will be in a good place to be attractive as a 3-pointer in the PL in 2014. I think that Scunny will wait for Ryan Douglas to establish his real average and then re-jig things. As Rob always says "it's not where you start, it's where you finish".
